Really happy with our week long stay here in a 2 bedroom deluxe apartment, specifically 19F. Could tell it had been refreshed with a new kitchen and bathrooms and the view was just spectacular. The kitchen was well stocked and plenty of hanging space and draws. A few minor maintenance issues like the toilet roll holder and some of the spare blankets had some stains but overall the stay was comfortable and safe. The pillows are either extremely soft or very hard but the beds are good and the laundry facilities in the room are very helpful and adequate. We didn't need the outdoor pool at this time of year but am interested to come back in the warmer months when the renovation is finished. The indoor pool and spa was great, our son had a ball. I would also note that the carpark is a little difficult to manage... I think they may be doing works down there. The location is unbeatable with the beach, cavil ave, Surf Life Saving club and the light rail all so close.

We have been staying at the Peninsula twice a year for approximately 5 years. We continually holiday here because we feel like it's our home away from home with the holiday experience. We are very satisfied with the accommodation and facilities that are offered and the convenience of location to the beach and surrounding sightseeing and shopping available. The staff at the Peninsula have always been very accommodating and available to our needs. I would like to offer a special mention to Diane, who we have found to have exceptional customer service skills and always has a polite, friendly and professional approach. We would highly recommend this accommodation as a great place to stay. Keep up the great work!

Booked a Deluxe 2 bedroom apartment, on arrival we were told the owners were staying in the one we were supposedly given so were sent to another one. It was not a Deluxe room like i had paid for, no airconditioning and not very clean. We went to reception lady (who was lovely) and complained so she gave us an option of another room only. Once we looked in there (and i had asked for a room on high floor when i booked), it was only on 7th floor, workers all outside and we noticed the swimming pools were all out of action due to work being done. We cancelled and walked around surfers until we could find a 2 bedroom apartment at short notice.
I have stayed here 2 time before so i was very disppointed in having to go through all that. I wont book here again.

The view from the east facing room is superb. However when visiting with a young family (toddlers) staying in a standard room is what I would say substandard. The room is dated with old appliances and extremely basic. Bathrooms have mould in the shower areas and the silicon coming away from the surfaces. Some of the furniture is broken (lounge). You are advised for security reasons to keep doors (leading to balconies) closed. We would advised to keep them closed for safety reasons (having toddlers) but due to standard rooms not including air conditioning keeping doors closed is near impossible in the heat of the Gold Coast. I would expect at the cost of the room ($250/night) air conditioning is a standard.
Staff are friendly but not very helpful.
My advice to those with small families.....stay clear.

Dear Gbarnett999, Thank you for your review!!! We always appreciate receiving constructive comments and we do apologise that we did not meet your expectations on this occasion, we do try our very best to satisfy all requests and we do regret that due to the high occupancy over the labour day weekend we were not able to offer an apartment with airconditioning. We are heartened to hear however that we could take prompt action and move you first thing the next morning, and we do trust that you did not experience any further issues during your stay. Regards, The Team @ BreakFree Penisula

There is no mention of major renovations taking place at the location when you book.
We arrived after hours at 7:30pm.
We had issues using the after hours entry system as we discovered we had to press number 9 repeatedly to get it to actually work. This is after we had had to circle the block to try to find a park because we could not get our car past the boom gates.
We had informed booking of the height of our vehicle, the one allocated was too low to allow us to park. The awesome man on security helped us out and found one suitable.

On entry to our rooms we discovered that the floors were sticky.
There were stains on both the sheets and blanket.
There we no lamps in the main bedroom and as the switch was located past the ensuite it made it very difficult to navigate to the bed when the light was turned off.
There was a lamp in the second bedroom which has bent prongs preventing it being plugged in. The light switch to the room was in the hall way.
The main bathroom was missing the switch to turn on the lights! There was simply a hole where the switch used to be.
There was a child's sock behind the door and another in the dryer- They were not a match :(
The laundry was area was covered in lint and soap scum.
The fry pan in the drawer had egg left on it.
The glass doors leading to the balcony was covered in greasy children's hand prints, I am finding it difficult to believe it could have been just the previous family it was so foul.
The coffee table was covered in crumbs and lettuce remains on top and beneath it was popcorn of both the corn AND chicken kinds.
A child's slinky was sitting just under the bottom of the couch.

The following morning we reported these issues to reception -
That day while we were out cleaners changed the sheets and cleaned most of the floor, at least it was no longer sticky but the popcorn chicken and popcorn remained under the coffee table, they replaced our bath towels but took away our tea towel and did not replace it. We just used a hand towel from the bathroom instead.

While we there the electricians arrived and installed the light switch which then allowed 4 of the 6 downlights of that room to turn on. They also bent the prongs straight on the lamp so it could be plugged in.

That was it, there were still no lamps in the main bed room, we placed the sock from the dryer with the one behind the door so the family can collect next year. I considered leaving a note next the the food under the coffee table to warn people not to eat it as it had been there awhile but I did not want to make the place messier. The glass doors were still disgusting, we have moved the slinky to the TV cabinet so the next family can play with it.

Oh we cleaned the fry pan for you.

We have stayed at Breakfree multiple times before without issues and do not expect perfect but this was the most disgusting place we have ever stayed in. This room was not in a state to be rented out.

Our go-to accommodation at the Gold Coast.... we only booked the night before and hence a bit lower down (floor 7) than usual but still a great room with fantastic views; one of my very favourite things to do anywhere is sit on that balcony reading a good booking listening to the waves crash in. Pool temperature is perfect and it is never overcrowded and then there is the location - close to everything you need at the Gold Coast; already looking forward to our next viist.

Location was spectacular and the apartment itself was fine. However there were moldy smoothie cup lids under the bed, plants covered in a thick layer of dust and dried melted instant coffee granules all over the kitchen floor. Also the dryer was broken, so was the outdoor furniture, toilet roll holder dropped the paper in the bin constantly and the ensuit shower flooded the floor and the fan didn’t work. Oh and the toilet seat was too small for the toilet and filthy underneath and no toilet brush available to clean it. Make sure you bring your own toiletries. The staff hours over weekends is extremely limited if you leave before 9am and come back after 3pm there won’t be anyone to assist you, also they appear to leave the new untrained staff alone on these smaller shifts and the young lady did everything she could to help but hadn’t been fully trained yet. After hours check in wasn’t well explained either and a bit of a Hassle if you’re arriving outside their office hours. Also the bedroom had no lamp and the light switch was outside the room door, just a bit of an ergonomic disaster. However location, view and facilities (pool, spa etc) were great. They were very light on cutlery I think there was only one fork but they had toaster kettle microwave pots pans etc. the staff were friendly when we did get a hold of someone.

Great roomy fully self contained apartments with great views overlooking the beach and very centrally located.. Would recommend to anyone wanting a great holiday or even an overnight stay.
You have views right up to Stradbroke Island and also down as far as the border.

The customer service and warm welcome I received upon arrival is next to non, Liz who warmly welcome myself and my family she is outstanding,

Location of Breakfree Peninsula is excellent

Their newly renovated rooms and along with the amenities far exceeded expectations, they have water sports equipment included in the rooms for those who wish to use it.

Cold bottles of water on arrival, ideal for those not used to QLD heat, and a lovely care pack of snacks.

Thank you to Liz & management at BreakFree Peninsula Surfers paradise

Was very disappointed. Rooms were dirty, not cleaned well at all, There was a bar of soap left behind in the shower from a previous guest with hair all over it. So disgusting! Fridge handle and all cupboards were all dirty, not wiped down at all. There were no blankets on any of the beds, the sheets didn't even fit the main bed. The Clothes airer was broken, completely dismantled, the dryer was broken, and the air con is full of mould so in all, very disappointed for the price we paid, i was and should expect more.

Four and half blocks to Cavill Ave (Main Street of Surfers Paradise) from front of building, good 5 minute walk along beachfront. Very close to Q1 building in same street (Cnr Clifford st and surfers paradise Blvd) variety of restaurants and coffee shop. Great Teppanyaki in Q1 building. Well worth a visit to Sky deck in Q1 food was good there also. Enjoy your stay!
