Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

The Crowne Plaza Surfers Paradise, an IHG hotel, garners appreciation for its prime location near the beach and convenient transportation links. However, the atmosphere receives less enthusiasm, with some guests finding the ambiance outdated and dull. Room opinions are mixed, with compliments on size but critiques on decor and cleanliness.
While the hotel's cleanliness and amenities like ocean views are praised, the value is debated due to food quality and extra costs. Service quality varies, with commendable staff encounters contrasted by some reports of lackluster interactions.

Hotel's Favourite
I was one of the attendees for FurDU 2023 at the Crowne Plaza Gold Coast (11 - 15 May 2023), and I was very pleasantly surprised about my time at the hotel itself. Once I got to the hotel, I went to reception, took a little while to check in, the staff were very friendly and quite helpful. They explained to me some of the key features of the hotel itself, also the fact that I was one of their club members or something, and that I had free internet throughout my stay - which was a bonus - hardly ever used it though. As I walked back to the lift I checked my room number - which had a bit of significance with myself (give you a clue: the angelic number).
To get to your floor, just simply tap the card on the scanner, then press the floor, only took a matter of seconds before I reached mine, and not long before I had finally let myself into my room. The room itself was absolutely beautiful, as I placed my bags down I took a quick tour of the room to see what amenities I had. The bathroom was quite spacious, a rather large shower and plenty of towels etc (which came in handy). As I'd spent a long trip getting up to the hotel I was a bit on the sweaty side, so I got a quick change of clothes, had a quick shower (make sure the door clicks all the way in - otherwise you'll end up flooding the bathroom floor which is what I ALMOST did).
(There's so much positive stuff to write about the hotel - so I'll keep it short)
The bed itself, quite spacious, the pillows themselves were plenty enough, I found that I got a good night's sleep, and in the morning went down had some breakfast - a great selection to choose from, be it from hot food, to pastries, cereal and even fruit and yoghurt. Relish (the restaurant) takes care of breakfast in the morning, plenty of space to sit, have as much as you want to eat for breakfast and get out again.
Dinners were absolutely amazing, same spot, the staff were quite friendly, very quick to take my order (had the chicken parmi one night, the burger the next), and a beer or two to drink. The next night I went to the restaurant - I pretty much got the same spot where I sat last time, the wait staff even remembered what kind of beer I had from the night before ... now THAT'S impressive, also one aspect about service that I really enjoyed.
All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with the Crowne Plaza Surfers Paradise, so much so I honestly cannot wait to return next year to experience it all over again .. In all honesty there's nothing at all I can fault the hotel for .. a full 5 * review from all aspects of the hotel, the staff, the food and beverage and everything they've got to offer.
So, if you're looking for a place to stay, be it for a short trip away, or a longer vacation, depends on what you're doing, be it visiting the theme parks or the local attractions, I would, without hesitation, highly recommend your stay at the Crowne Plaza Surfer's Paradise, try and get a room with a high floor facing the beach as the views at night are absolutely stunning. With Sea World Gold Coast just up the road, and the rest of the theme parks further out, I'm sure you'll have a great time no matter what you get up to.

We made the best choice by staying at this hotel! It was the biggest part of our holiday for 6 days at Gold Coast. We were upgraded to an ocean view room at no charge! Best staff I have ever seen during my travel life. The receptionists were smiling all the time and our room was replenished full of toiletries/coffee/tea everytime we walked in. Our stay in Crowne Plaza definetely added an unforgettable value to our holiday. We would definately come back here to stay again!

Gave this Hotel another chance and picked a weekend which was far less windy and the manager actually explained they have tackled some of the draft and wind issues around the pool so the kids got to use the pool which was fantastic, though it has no shallow end for the little kids. It does make up for it with noodles and plenty of bean bags which requires adult supervision but is loads of fun!!
We booked a larger room and it was well worth the additional fee and being on the top floor was fun. Breakfast buffet was really good and wide variety and selection.
Staff was just as friendly and personal as previous stays and being between Surfers Strip and Broadbeach has it's advantages for noise and parking - the tram is conveniently located right outside and is only two stops to the Casino (Broadbeach) and just as easy to get to for Surfers main strip.
Really pleased with my stay and will stay here again when its time for the family to visit surfers.

+1
One of the most magnificent and marvelous stayed at the Crowne Plaza for 9 days straight. The hotel staffs full of love, warm and welcoming. Many thanks to Alex, Stephanie, Abby and Matt, whom took very good care of us while we were there. Fantabulous service beyond expectation; first class state of an art.
We stayed at the executive ocean view room on the 21st floor, fantabulous room with a warm welcoming cake and design towel for our anniversary. The balcony has a superb awesome view of Gold Coast and overlooking the beautiful gorgeous oceans. The breezy wind and the waves of the ocean was fantastically great to feel and hear everyday throughout the day. Rooms was comfy, soft pillows and hot showers was pretty great. The only thing, was the WiFi connection in room, however it was superbly sorted out with the given usage of pocket WiFi. Bravo. Management staff of Crowne Plaza. Excellent service.
Everyday breakfast was indeed beyond imagination at the Relish Restaurant. They served wide varieties of pastries, eggs and westerns great delicacy. They even have section for fruits platters and vegetarian section. Great ambience and service to be here seated just beside the wonderful long swimming pool with beautiful landscape of Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Had dine at the famous Revolving restaurant on the 26th floor. Superb beyond imagination, while dining could view the whole of Gold Coast coaster night beautiful view revolving slowly around. Great dining experience with lots of fresh baby lobsters, muscles and oysters. They even had a wide range of deserts cakes and delicious pastries tarts and ice creams of all flavors. Many authentic Chinese and western delicacy to serve all round of crowd. Moreover, the selection of salads and greenery were fantastically fresh and lovely. Frankly speaking you guys did a better job over here than the Hanlan’s buffet at Novotel. We experience a warm welcome smile and cheerful staffs over here than a cold atmosphere feeling at the Hanlan’s buffet and limited choices of food taste. Well Done, Beautiful 4 Winds Revolving Restaurant, keep it up the standard.
The swimming pool was pretty cool and lovely to swim with the wonderful jacuzzi that gives a sensual wonderful feeling to the whole body. Rejuvenating and revitalizing the mind, body and soul. Awesomely great experience.
Overall, fantabulous awesome stay. If we could describe the whole experience at this hotel in one word is: OUTSTANDING!!!!! Well done Crowne Plaza, Keep up the marvelous work and service rendered. Will definitely come back again. ☺️

I’m am member of the IHG Rewards Club and decided to spend some time on the Gold Coast leveraging this membership. Between my booking with this hotel and our arrival the room we had booked had (along with the whole tower) been handed back to the owners by Crowne Plaza and was now being run by the Oaks Hotel group. This led to a few weird outcomes....
1. Having to get from reception every morning breakfast vouchers (created while we waited) to eat on premises.
2. Couldn’t access room service.
3. Couldn’t put spend in bars / restaurants on our room.
4. Had to organise specific access to the gym.
Instead of the integrated site and resort style experience I had paid for, my family and I got a disjointed and messy experience that was difficult to navigate and which detracted entirely from being on holiday.
Whilst obviously a transitional set of issues, a lack of forethought and care was evident, even though I could contact a senior person to resolve issues as they arose. I had paid to avoid such issues.

I stayed here for work recently as it was fairly close to the office and the room was nice with good views out to the ocean and the main highway.
And it was a bit of highway robbery for the price of breakfast. I only wanted yoghurt and some fruit, but they charge you exorbitant rates for the buffet, even though I wanted very little of it. And there was no negotiation either.
On my last morning, I didn’t bother with breakfast at the hotel and bought it from a cafe close to the office at a fraction of the price that the hotel wanted to charge.
Other than that, staff were friendly, courteous and helpful and the location is good. It’s not located on the beach but a block or 2 back from the beach. Overall pretty good, but I’d stay on the beach if I was choosing at a hotel that provided more reasonable rates for dining in.

We stay at least 3 times a year for both business and getaway trips.
The executive king rooms which are fantastic value.
The location is right between Surfers and Broadbeach making in a quiet little oasis but still central.
The rooms are always clean with an oversized bathroom and large tub and timeless marble.
Staff are always friendly and welcoming.

This is my 3rd day report after being forced to stay at this hotel @ $200 including food. Overall it has been reasonable value for money, however the timing of food delivery has been average at best. They state Breakfast is between 8-10am(seriously who has breakfast at 10am), lunch between 12 and 2pm and dinner between 6-8pm.
Well so far I have had breakfast at 10.15am and 10.45am. What a load of crap. Lunch well after 1pm and dinner 2 nights out of 3 after 7.30pm. We have NO CHOICE of meals other than dietary requirements. The only REALLY bad meal was their attempt at Roast Pork with crackle. or should I say luke warm fat on top of tough warmish roast pork. Remember we are paying for this. The amount of food is great just no choice. I will report again at a later stage and see if they check these reports lol.

We used to spend all our holidays in this particular hotel and other intercontinental locations for years. We were always greeted by either champagne or fruits , free breakfasts for the whole period in addition to our free nights. This time the club in conjunction with the hotel would not give us our preferred executive room as usual and would not allow us to use any of our rewards points even when I booked a room for 2 weeks . Not even any type of welcomes like in the past as loyal members. The only welcome was charging us for skim milk instead of the full cream milk in the bar fridge as a complimentary to the room tea or coffee .Of course now our loyalty to this group has gone down to zero which is going to urge us to throw away our accumulated useless points and change our destinations to other reputable options

Booked a room with two single beds received a king, When asked for single beds we were told we had booked a standard room so that’s what we were getting. The king bed is two singles that could be pulled apart to be made into singles.
No complimentary shampoos, conditioners etc.. rang “twice” before we received some. Unfortunately I was already in the shower when I realized there weren’t any with wet hair had to wash my hair with the soap 🤣
Could not work out why the aircon wasn’t working. The room was stuffy so left balcony doors open to try and cool it down. Rang reception again! 4th time.. she asked in a disgruntled way, if our balcony doors were open.. I said yes, we have them open because we can’t get the aircon to work and it’s stuffy.. she then told us we had to close the doors so we could activate the control panel of the aircon.
Otherwise room was very clean and comfy. Had a nice view out to sea, our dinner was delicious, staff in restaurant were great!
Little things, but annoying.. might be helpful for all if there was a manual to explain things in the hotel room.. would have been nice to know pool times etc but didn’t want to ring reception again, I think they were sick of me!
