Free wifi, aircon, the Location of hotel, large rooms and level 29 views was the only good thing about this hotel. Payed for ocean view room yet to be looking Out over the city. Very disappointing as we could have saved money if we wanted to face the city.

The room smells of cigarettes and appears dirty. Bed states king but was just two singles Pushed together with a lump in middle. Shower has mouldy air vent that would never pass regulations. No washing up or watching machine powder at all so couldn’t wash dishes. Probably the reason everything is dirty.... don’t see them washing the utensils after each stay....yuck.

Parking is tight and limited but secure at least. Won’t be rushing back unless it gets a revamp. Disappointing even though it’s a busy time just after Christmas.

Booked a 2 night stay in a superior sea view studio, it was not really superior at all it was basic and a bit tired, the curtains needed some attention most of the hooks holding them on to the rail where broken, we was on the 17th floor the balcony door rattled in the wind we had to wedge a piece of card in the frame to stop it rattling. The beds where not very comfortable neither was the pillows.
The hotel is in a good location very close to the beach we did have a fantastic sea view, our balcony was large with a table and 2 chairs we could hear the roar of the waves from inside the room.
We had a small kitchenette which was fine for what we needed, bathroom was ok decent walk in shower.
Pool area nice with a indoor and out door pool.
When we checked in we had to hand over $200 dollars which was refundable so long has no damage was caused by us.

My husband surprised me with a night in surfers paradise at the Beachcomer Resort - I have never been more disappointed with a room in my life. It was very old and tired and I didnt feel it was clean (stains on carpet, curtains and two sitting chairs). Staff on checkin were lovely and helpful and view and location were fantastic, bed was also comfortable. He paid $275 and we feel completely ripped off. My husband is now sacked from booking any further accommodation - I would not recommend Beachcomber

Just went to the gold coast for a week with my partner and our 19 month old baby and 15year old sister in law. I have nothing good to say about this hotel other then it was close to the beach and had decent wifi. When we checked in we were not told anything except for what number our room was. Once we found our room it was old and outdated the couches were falling apart there was no blinds in the kitchen so we had to wear our sunnies everyday when we were in the room and we booked a room for four people and they only gave us one bed. After asking reception about the missing beds, hours later a roll up bed arrived on our doorstop, which was in a terrible condition and impossible to sleep in, so our 15 year old had to sleep on the broken lounge. Our rubbish was piling up and we were getting low on toilet paper and towels as they only provided us with one roll and 2 towels for 4 people. We went down to reception and asked where we have to take our rubbish and do we receive more toilet paper and towels and the response was we can give you one roll now but after that it's up to you to purchase more and we have to go down to the washing room to clean our own towels and they wouldn't give us any additional towels...and everyday we had to take our rubbish down 11 floors to get to the basement where the skip bin was. The room was smelly, with strange odours occuring frequently, we had to leave the doors open to air the place out. Our level was being renovated, one morning we opened the door to a tradie fixing the carpet outside our door. He asked us to leave the door open for the day so he could paint it, when my partner responded no because our belongings were inside he huffed and puffed and swore at us. For the remainder of our stay we needed to be careful when opening our door because there were exposed beams on the ground with nails sticking out. Our kitchen had 3 knives, forks and spoons mugs etc, so not enough for everyone who was staying. We went for a walk to see the amenities and found filth around the tennis courts, empty alcohol cans, smoke packets etc littered everywhere. The games room was absolutely disgusting with grime and dirt everywhere, there is no way our children were playing there. We had family also staying at the hotel, they paid over $600 less than us as they only had one child with them and there room was much nicer and cleaner, however they also had many issues including being locked out of their room because reception mixed up their check out days. Dont get fooled by the nice looking photos and cheaper prices, run for the hills this hotel is hell

Fact 1 website profile does not accurately portray the true condition of the hotel or the hotel rooms, is is old with only partial recent facelifts.
The duvet on the bed was very stained, quite disgusting really!!
Fact 2 The staff service was non existent in our case, especially reception.
Fact 3 leaky shower
Fact 4 Upon booking the hotel was informed that we required at minimum a double bed as we are currently honeymooning, we were assured that anything less would be unacceptable. What we ended up with was two single beds zipped together that were on rollers & the bed rolled around the floor all night every time we tossed or turned!!
For $219 for a this hotel gets a 1 star & that is just being polite which is more than you get from the Beachcomber!
The only credits that I can think of was the the location is good as is the view

My partner and I arrived late in the evening. We were sent a text message of where our keys would be and a code to get into the safe! That was probably the smoothest part of the whole stay. We went to the 11th floor and walked into our room. Wow shocked is a understatement it was filthy. There was someone else’s hair all over the tiles, paint peeling off the roof of the bathroom. Bathroom vanity chipboard was coming away mould in the bath on the tiles. It was disgusting. We couldn’t do much about it because we got there late and there was no one at reception so we slept the night in the room. Went and complained in the morning about the situation that we were dealing with the lady at the reception with short dark hair and a accent was absolutely rude there were no other rooms available for us to go to and she wouldn’t refund our room unless it was re rented. I don’t know how they think they could of re rented that room in the condition it was in. After going back to or original room and finding a cockroach I demanded a room change luckily for us we were discussing how disappointed we were to some permanent resistance and the owner over heard us he soon fixed the situation and we moved rooms. It was better but still not the best! I know they rooms are individually owned but I wouldn’t risk my business name renting those rooms out!

Dear Brooken, please note that it is hard to move a unit when we are fully booked. What reception was trying to tell you is that you had to wait for another unit to check out in order to organize a room change.

I travel and this is so far the only place I’ve given 1 star …… would give zero if possible . The only thing going for this place is the location but the building is like a hunted house from the 50’ ….. Reception people are rude, car park is definitely like coming into a hunted house plus smells like as garbage all over. The people are weird and scream at each other on the lift . We heard the manager is the worst and cars get towed away …. So no point on complaining when the management couldn’t care less No wonder rooms are badly maintained and cleaning is so bellow the standard. It’s hard to believe how are they still operating … Public Health should have closed this dump down by now …. Specially in times like now . I would highly recommend to sage you sanity and health and book somewhere else

It was nice staying here. The location is perfect! You are very close to the beach, restaurants, mall, bars and transport such as trams. My view from my room was excellent! I could see the beach during the day and the nightlife come alive in the evening and it was a perfect view to see the New Year’s Eve fireworks from my balcony. I had all the amenities needed in my room such as comfy bed and pillows, wifi, aircon, tv, microwave, kettle, toaster, towels, soaps, coffee, milk etc. The apartments do need some updating in their decor but other than that I was happy with my stay and would come back again.

My family of 4 stayed for 2 nights in winter. The indoor heated pool was awesome - nice and warm and the chlorine wasn't too strong for young kids.
There's also a sauna and outdoor spa.
Yes, the rooms are not super fancy, but the lady on the front desk (Jo) was lovely. She arranged rollaway beds for my children in the unit which came with little soaps and towels so they were happy.
We will definitely book here again, especially if we come to the Gold Coast in cool weather.

Where do I begin. I have been travelling to Surfers Paradise for over 20 years and must say this place would have to be the worst place I’ve stayed at. Beachcomber was absolutely filthy and disgusting. The room was infested with cockroaches, the vents were Filled and covered with so much dust that clumps would keep falling out of them on the floor. The sink had a constant foul odour like a dead corpse. We couldn’t bring ourselves to eat in the room. The shower tap was missing the front bolt/nut that secures the handle. Every time we would turn on the hot water the handle would come off. The clothes line was completely rusted so we couldn’t use it. The balcony was covered in pigeon poo. The icing on the cake was that I contracted wring worm on my back from the linen or towels. The only positive point would be it’s location.
Do your research, do not stay at this unhygienic place.
