The mantra is a block away from Cavill Ave and the beach, the staff are friendly and the rooms are very comfortable. My room was ocean view which due to the construction occurring in future years i can see it wont be the same view but still ocean viewing. The hotel room had a kitchenette with mini fridge, kettle, stove top, toaster and dishwasher.
There was a balcony and bathroom had a tub.
The restaurant and room service had a nice variety of favourite meals and at a fairly normal price considering its a hotel restaurant.
The pool area was large and it meant that even though other families where there you always had space.

This hotel probably was its peak in the 90s. Althought it has show its age in various building and interior and furniture, it is still acceptable for stay, it was not completely run down or anything bad.
Overall feel in hotel:
Location is great. Lift and hotel location are no issue if you have plenty of luggage to carry.
Facility of swimming pool, gym, sauna room, and steam room from 6am to 9pm. We did not use these facility, however they all looks decent to use.
Breakfast buffet $25pp, has selection of continental, fruit, pastries, and asian dishes. We did not try the breakfast either, so not sure about its taste.
Check in was quick, and easy. $100 deposit on card was required .
Room:
We stay in 20th floor, overlook the other hotel, not the beach. We do not fuss about view. Fairly quiet during the night, did not hear much car noise from outside.
Bed and pillow a little to soft for my liking. Not the best linen for bed, but it was fine.
Water pressure and hot water is great. Basic amenities provided. Do take note no room slippers or body lotion provided, so please bring your own.
Overall, considering prices, room, facilties, location, services, it is a great hotel to stay if you pay a decent price.

I had an enjoyable 2 night stay in a deluxe studio suite at this hotel.
Location is only a few blocks from the hub of Cavil Avenue, so very well located.
Area is surrounded by eateries with the nearest tram stop, located a block away at “Surfers Paradise” stop on the GLink.
Prices were very reasonable as it was out of season and during the week rather than a weekend. In my booking comments I requested ocean views despite not paying extra for this. To my surprise when checking in, I was upgraded to a lovely corner suite with ocean views on both sides and located on the 14th floor (1409). I also received 2 free drink vouchers which I used in the bar downstairs overlooking the pool.
Whilst dated the rooms were clean and very well appointed with a microwave, 2 burner cooktop, dishwasher ( out of order) and a bar fridge. There was also adequate cooking utensils supplied.
Bathroom was on the small size but quite functional with a shower located in the bath tub.
There was a small balcony overlooking the ocean with a table and seating for 2 persons.
Staff were quite friendly and very approachable and allowed a 12 noon checkout despite 10am being the regular check out time.
I loved the pool and spent several hours there on check in day when it was a hot 33C.
The Bar/restaurant was located in the lobby with pool views and whilst I did not dine here had some great options including wood fired pizza and other international cuisine.
I am an Accor member and would be more than happy to return to this hotel.

I recently booked a deluxe suite for a two night stay costing $390 with booking.com. When we arrived we were a tad early and was asked if we would like to leave our luggage with the concierge and that they would take it up to our room once it was ready. We thought this was a great idea as we had to park the car a few blocks away as there was no spaces left at the hotel. We went for a bit of lunch and came back about 2 hrs to finish off checking in. We noticed our bags has been dumped on the floor beside the door unattended. I had my laptop with me, in a bag that could clearly be seen, as I was researching places to stay for my work lucky it was still there. I asked why they were there and the young guy shrugged and went oh are they yours? Not a great start. So we got our card for the room and took the bags upstairs ourselves. We got to our room 918 and my goodness it was far from a ‘refurbished’ Deluxe Suite. There was stains on the walls, the lamp on the table had stains on it and badly scratched with sticky marks on it. The skirting was badly scuffed, there was marks on every curtain, two towels had dirty marks on them and so did the sheets. The chairs in the room were scuffed too. The headboard on the wall had white stains on them too. The balcony door was extremely difficult to open and very dirty. When I looked in the bathroom there were 5 hairs on the walls beside the toilet. The mirror was dirty and crumbling at the corners. We went down and asked for new towels, sheets and for someone to clean the hairs off the walls as we couldn’t ring out to reception. I said I was very disappointed in the room as it was meant to be a Deluxe suite. They lady apologised and said she would inform housekeeping. We came back to the room approx 3-4hrs later and we had new towels but the same dirty sheet and the 5 hairs still on the wall. I’m currently 8 months pregnant and just wanted to relax in our room for the weekend and didn’t want to get worked up so I never mentioned all of the above again until we checked out. To which the young guy went oh right I will pass on your feedback. Why I suggest you book directly is they charge you for using WiFi but if you book directly you get it for free. Also in reception we noticed a whiteboard had obscenity written on it at around 7am and it was still there until 8-9pm that evening. So don’t think I would be in a hurry to head back here. Housekeeping seems inadequate. Was really disappointed as I was looking forward to a nice relaxing stay here.

Not the best, quite surprised for Mantra. We didnt appreciate that we had to follow up reception twice to check in. We didn't get to check in until 2:20pm when we were waiting since 1:15pm. We should have given the option to check out late or a simple apology for the delay.
The lifts to the car park were not working during the time we stayed there, which was inconvenient.
The room was relatively clean and the sheets were not changed during our 2 nights stay. The room was quite small than expected and the beds were very uncomfortable with a musky smell of the cushions on our beds. The bathroom was dated, not stocked properly for 4 people, and we were missing a towel drying hook at the back of the bathroom door.
The swimming pool was small, considering this hotel is is recommended for families to stay in. There was only one spa and pool available with no games room.
When we checked out, the lady at the reception wanted to charge us an additional $20 for parking ($60 in total from 5 - 7 January 2020), which is ridiculous.
The two things that made the stay bearable was the proximity to the beach and restaurants. The price was fantastic for Mantra ($424).
Overall, I wouldn't recommend families staying there long term. Couples are fine but not families that consists of 2 kids or more.

Our family stayed for 7 days in room 2205. We had the spa suite room on the top floor with amazing ocean views. The room had a balcony with glass, which was lovely to sit out and enjoy a morning cups while watching the surfers and swimmers. The room had a comfy lounge and small kitchenette with all the amenities. The bathroom was spacious and more than enough towels given each day. The shower had good pressure, although the shower arm came a little loose, not a big deal. The corner spa and jets worked well, which was welcome after a long day on our feet. The maid service was quick, efficient and friendly. Elena was very warm and informative on checkin. We used the parking facilities in the basement. Parking was $20 per day, however as we had a 7 night stay, we were given it for $10 per day and were advised this on check in. Parking was easy and secure. The hotel is in an amazing location. Easy stroll to Cavill Ave, tram stop out the front, restaurants all close by, beach a stones throw. I would happily stay here again. My only complaint was the bed was too firm for my liking and the pillows were pretty flat and ordinary. We had family stay on floor 13 in a room with ocean view. It was smaller without a lounge and spa and a very small balcony. They mentioned the same about the bed and pillows. We didn’t use much of the facilities, but did check them out. The pool and spa look clean and great for families. The gym sizeable and had more equipment than most hotel gyms. The lobby and elevators were kept clean and it’s requested no more than 2 people with the exception of families use the elevator due to social distancing from COVID-19. Thanks Mantra Legends, we’ll be back!

Our ocean view deluxe studio was of ample size for two people and had a balcony and a kitchenette with a microwave/convection oven and stove top. It was a little dated but nicely maintained and comfortably furnished. It also offered great views of the beach and the ocean. The bathroom, although small, had plenty of space for storing toiletries and hanging towels and contained some very nice smelling toiletries in eco-friendly dispensers.
The location is great, being an easy walk to the beach and the Surfers Paradise Tram Stop. Although it’s close to shops and restaurants, there are dispensing machines in the foyer.
We were greeted very nicely by the guy at reception and although we arrived an hour earlier than expected, our room was ready, so we were allowed to check in early. All members of staff we met were very friendly and pre-stay emails were answered promptly and all requests were granted.
As a Gold ALL member I received an accommodation upgrade, 12:00 late check out, a nice welcome gift with a personalised message and two drink vouchers.
Buffet breakfast in the restaurant was great value at only $25. It included eggs, bacon and sausages, a good selection of cereals and bakery items, as well as pancakes and fruit.
This was our first stay at a Mantra hotel and, if this was an indication of what to expect of the brand, it will definitely not be our last.

Staff were helpful and friendly as much as they could be. They recognised our Platinum status as loyal Accor guests. The studio room was small and not really suitable for a stay of 2 nights or more when travelling as a couple but this is my fault for booking it, not theirs. They tried to move me (I was happy to pay more) but they were fully booked out (all of the Gold Coast was super busy that weekend). The hotel is trying hard in the restaurant to welcome people back / offer food in the new environment that is Covid. Our bathroom smelt super clean. Very stingy with amount of cups, glasses and cutlery provided in the room but they were always happy to give us extra of anything we needed if we asked for it. Late checkout was appreciated. Hotel is not super modern but it is clean and functional. A good place for a bed / if you just need a hot shower and somewhere to sleep. Studio is too small as I said but if you aren't spending much time in the room, it doesn't matter much. WIFI is like most hotels (not very good).

We stayed here on the weekend.
Had two adjoining rooms. Choose this hotel for the price range that fitted our budget.
Main room was outdated and seemed old. The aircon did not work. Room could have been cleaned more. Maybe it looked dirty as the furniture was old. Room 1103
The second room looked better. Aircon was cold and worked well. Looked better than the adjoining room. 1104.
Pool was good.
Had to line up for the lifts due to COVID restrictions to go up and got long sometimes.
Parking you have to either bock or come early and there are 400 rooms with 100 parks. Street parking make sure you pay for parking or you will be fined. 2hr parking. There is a car park a short walk. Bruce bishop. Parking was cheap. A good alternative.
Will choose a different hotel next time I book one.

Secure hotel parking is $20-$30 per nite, standard hotel rate, but have to book in advance as is limited space available, so was able to find FREE parking right outside street parking at the hotel for limited time only though from 7pm-9am which was handy... otherwise, Bruce bishop parking not far to walk is another option to. To get to Star casino 10 mins on TRAM and the stop just 5 mins walk towards Surfers, really handy... After hours return from Casino best by CAB, catch just outside foyer for approx $15 back to hotel :)
I wasn't there for the breakfast but I believe the dinner was $79/person.
It depends on the package but wifi is additional cost.
I can recommend the breakfast buffet, good value for money, great staff, fresh food items, eggs of your choice and as much or as little as you want.
