The hotel had parties that were extremely loud going on till 2 am. Upon checking in, they said the party will go until midnight. However, at midnight when we called the bar they said they actually closed at 1am. However, the music actually only stopped at 2am. After living in so many hotel rooms I have never been in one this loud. Even on level 3 of the hotel, we could hear people swearing and shouting. Furthermore, when we ordered room service, all the food came in takeaway cardboard boxes (including the steak) and did not provide any table or tray for us to eat on. The 1 table and chair in our hotel room was clearly not enough for 4 people. The elevators are also extremely old and there is no parking available. I would not recommend this to any families who want a relaxing holiday. We paid premium price ($351 for one night )for crap room service and crap hotel rooms.

Absolutely terrible. Looks trendy from afar but exterior looks dirty and like it has not been renovated since the 80’s. Elevators were worn out and filthy, smelled bad, hallway to room was literally a construction zone, cloth bench in room was riddled with what looked like semen stains, shower was dirty, only a couple squares of TP on the roll in bathroom, and that was my 2 minute experience. Walked in, looked around and walk straight back to front desk and cancelled. And they did not even have the common courtesy to refund the stay. I will not be recommending this to anyone, ever. Here is a real picture of the interior hallway outside the room. Very disappointed in the business conduct as well not refunding this stay. Don’t believe the nice photoshopped pictures shown online.

My husband and I (plus baby) have stayed at the Island twice now and have been very happy there both times. The location can't be beat nor can the rates for when you make your booking with Genius discount. It usually includes breakfast and an upgraded room. Staff are super friendly and welcoming. Early check in is generally available (have received 2/2 times I have asked) as well. Room is spacious and beds comfy. The suite provides that bit of an extra space you need when travelling with kids. The Bruce Bishop carpark next door ($5/day) is very convenient. Buffet breakfast included is also very good. Yes they have to serve you, but those are the times we live in. Not the hotels fault! Have also eaten dinner at Goldie's the restaurant on site and meals were very good and reasonably priced. Pizza in particular was very good. Happy hour drink specials are also good value. Overall since we can't really go outside of Qld, the Island is our choice for staycation 😊

The island hotel was not my first choice in all honesty I originally wanted to stay at a chain hotel but decided to give this place a try! This may have been the best spontaneous decision I have made in a while! From the get go the customer service was absolutely fantastic and the staff are so friendly! I didn't feel like another number I felt my stay was much more personal! I was upgraded upon arrival due to my earlier check-in to the 11th floor this really made my quick mini break away even better! The room was very big, comfortable, clean and well designed with fantastic amenities. I had a fantastic view of the hinterlands and a bit of the ocean too. While the hotel isn't beachfront it is still in a great location with easy access to the main strip and mall. Room service was very quick and easy too. Check out was easy with the express checkout box. The only con for me was the uncomfortable outdoor seating but I feel this would be a easy fix with a chair pillow 🤷🏻‍♀️. In conclusion just book it, you will not regret it!!! Thank you to the staff for making my stay amazing!
