Perfect position as is so quiet at night but within easy 5 minute flat walk to all the action if required. Beach boardwalk or footpaths Is your choice
Big wide corridors and quick lifts and great photography artwork on the walls to admire
Friendly happy fellow guests all enjoying their stay and all the kiddies seem to be having a sensational time.
Castaway coffee shop on ground level is popular as serving delicious food with direct access from hotel The crispy salmon salad is 10/10 as are the corn fitters and the house made muffins are perfect Bright bubbly staff with spot on coffee and fresh juices and best view with the ocean a few steps away. Expensive property to spend your money on and it was unfortunately underwhelming due to service. The room we had was great with a wonderful ocean view however was disappointed to find out there is no daily room cleaning service due to COVID. I completely understand this but wish I knew prior to arrival as I think the price per night should be less or I may have changed my holiday plans. If this is the case I would expect the rest of the hotel to be spotless however noticed dust and hair along the corridors, no clean towels offered at the pool (dirty ones not collected) and no wiping of the lifts / buttons. You could call for new towels, linen and toilet paper however sometimes wasn’t quick to receive.
The lifts are a joke - you need to add at least 30 mins onto every trip so you can be on time anywhere. Always crowded and annoying!
There is barely any on-site parking for guests so you need to pay for undercover parking 2 streets away. We were lucky enough to secure a spot after our first night, keep asking reception if any parking passes are available as you might get one. Don’t count on it though.
Overall we still enjoyed our room and the location is fantastic across the road from the beach however won’t stay here again due to service and high price - lots of teething issues. The hotel is still also under construction however didn’t affect our stay.

I am currently staying at the brand new Meriton Suites Surfers Paradise and will be here for another week. I am giving 4 stars due to a number of reasons. Location is excellent. Right across from the beach and plenty of shops/restaurants accessible within a short walk. The apartment is clean, fresh and modern. Beds are comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. I have stayed at Meritons in a number of locations many times, so my expectations are fairly high. I unfortunately have to give 4 stars instead of 5 due to two main issues. One is the lack of onsite carparking. This has already been mentioned by many reviewers here so I won't go into detail. It is obviously something that needs to be addressed and it definitely puts a dampener on things, especially when the tickets are not scanning properly at the carpark we have been told to use and have already paid for. It is stressful!
The second issue is that daily housekeeping has been suspended for the time being. This is something that wasn't mentioned when booking, only after checking in. Reception told my husband this was due to lack of staff available. When we got inside our room, there was a letter from management saying it was to help reduce the spread of covid. Not sure which one is the actual reason, but I suggest being consistent when speaking to your guests. Anyway, I was really looking forward to having a holiday in an apartment with daily housekeeping. I don't mind making the bed myself but I do enjoy having the bathroom cleaned and fresh towels supplied. Now we have to ring if we want clean towels and leave the old ones at our door. We also need to ring if we want shampoo, soap, toilet paper, etc replenished. Due to lack of staff, when you do ring you get told it will take awhile and you feel bad for bothering them. In the end, we went to the supermarket and bought our own supplies. I think if it is necessary to discontinue housekeeping, perhaps leave a little package at the door each morning or night of fresh towels and toiletries. That would be an easy solution. We are paying premium price per night... so it is disappointing that we are not getting the full service that we paid for. Overall, the hotel is beautiful but I would only stay again if I knew that housekeeping was back on board and the carparking situation had improved.

Hello daniellepatrick7 We thank you for the time taken to share your detailed review with us and the Trip Advisor community. It''s wonderful that you found our newest addition, Meriton Suites Surfers Paradise a beautiful new hotel to stay, where you enjoyed the beach front location. clean, fresh modern apartment and the close proximity to plenty of shops and restaurants However we're sorry to hear you experienced a couple of issues. Kindly note our website is completely transparent in advising our Surfers Paradise property doesn't have onsite parking, it does list the closest alternative which isn't operated or affiliated with Meriton Suites. We want to best inform our guests before they book at Meriton Suites Surfers Paradise of this. Please note we do offer a luggage drop off area to assist guests who wish to drop off luggage before parking offsite. During these uncertain times with the current pandemic we do our very best to keep our guests and staff as protected as possible, this often means changes occur at a fast pace. Unfortunately one of these changes has been to our daily housekeeping. This is currently paused and I do apologise for any miscommunication as to why. The safety and health of our guests and staff is by far the main reason why this service is currently paused. Should any additional towels, toiletries etc be required during your stay please do let the team know and they do their best in having this sent up to your room as fast as possible. During peak times and holiday season we appreciate your patience as there may be some delays with this. Please know we do appreciate and value your feedback and hope to welcome you back in the future. Kind Regards, Amanda S

Upon first arrival, we found that the drop off point to check in is blocked daily by a bloody truck, due to works going on adding the final floors up the top of the building. We had to lug our bags a few hundred metres up the road from an off-site car park.
The check-in process is extremely slow due to having hardly any staff to assist with the peak times.
Daily room cleaning was non existent and had to call several times for towels, toilet roll, shower amenities etc.
If you want to watch TV, you're forced to watch lame FTA rubbish, due to it being impossible to cast from a mobile device to the screen in all rooms. We were told YouTube, Netflix etc were all doable so long as we cast from a mobile device. That, however, doesn't work at all.
The views are great, right on the beach and rooms are clean and comfortable. Service staff are polite and do the best they can. But that's where the good things end and all the nightmares begin.
For near $500 per night, plus $20 per day parking fees, I expect better than this garbage. Will not be returning and strongly advise others to stay elsewhere, at a location up the road for similar pricing if they want to avoid being stooged and turn their holiday into a headache.
This place has a long way to go if the prices they are charging are to be commensurate with what you receive.

The rooms are lovely at Meriton surfers paradise and the hotel is overall a very stylish place to stay. The location is also nice if you prefer to be close to the beach and a bit more out of the busier areas, the main shops and restaurants are a short walk (about 5-8minutes). However, there is a lot of improvement to be made to match its price value. My partner and I were very disappointed at the level of cleanliness of our room when we first arrived. You could tell the tables had not been wiped down, chairs on the veranda still had sand and hair on them, bed sheets had black marks (looks like someone had stepped on the sheet with a dirty shoe). We have never seen this before in a hotel. We also never got our room cleaned, nor towels replaced or everyday items such as complimentary coffee or body soap replenished, despite a reasonable stay at the hotel. Although, when we did go to the effort e.g go down to the concierge desk (phone services were unattended and not answering every time we tried) we did receive these services mostly with friendly customer service it was a pain to be constantly doing this especially when there were often wait times and a lack of staff. I understand it is a difficult time and there are staff shortages at the moment with covid, however it wasn’t just small things that were making our stay disappointing it was almost everything… in addition we could not park on site and still had to pay $20/day, areas of the hotel are not finished and food services/food is not available at the hotel in comparison to breakfast, room service available at other hotels with similar price tags. When paying almost $350-400/night you would expect a lot more for what you pay for, or at least compensated for in the price… our last night at surfers paradise we decided to stay at the Star. We paid less per night than we did at the Meriton and the level of service, cleanliness, free parking, amenities and food/overall services available to you at the star was definitely worth the price tag. It is easily comparable to justify the high level of quality and service consistent at the star in comparison to the Meriton. Overall, the Meriton was a disappointing experience and if we return to surfers paradise we will choose to stay elsewhere.

We stayed at the Meriton and spend about $2,000 for 4 nights. When we reached there we were told there would be no normal services offered like changing bed sheets or cleaning the rooms and there would not be any discount. Covid was the reason given but they just looked short staffed. They did not see any point in escalating to a manager as the response would be the same so keep that in mind for your next travel.

Hello diveshsareen We thank you for the time spent to share your detailed review. It saddens us when we receive reviews like yours as we pride ourselves on offering exceptional customer experiences to our guests. Regretfully, the current outbreak of covid has heavily impacted a shortage of hospitality and housekeeping staff. For the health and safety of our guests and staff a difficult decision was made by us to suspend the daily housekeeping service. We do hope this will return very soon. We’re sincerely sorry that your experience was not an amazing one with us this time, however hope you will give us another chance to welcome you back in the future. Kind Regards, Amanda S

Worst property to spend you money on. Firstly it’s still under construction and there is no mention of that on their website. Secondly, we were told that if your stay is under 7 days- there will be daily room service including rubbish collection, bed making and general tidying of the apartment. We stayed at the property for 5 nights and every night on return we found none of these services were attended so we had to call room service which took us 15-20 mins on phone as they were short staffed throughout.
Lastly, there is no onsite parking for guests, you have to walk 2 streets away and find an undercover parking for $20 per night extra.
And how can I forget that lifts are terrible, took us 15-20 mins just to commute from apartment to main entrance so don’t forget to add these times when you are catching up with someone.

Dear shilpa2806 Thank you for recently staying with us and sharing your feedback, Unfortunately we have had to make the choice of reducing our daily service in rooms to reduce the risk of covid transmission with our staff and guest, this measure was not taken lightly and by no means a cost cutting measure, I do apologies if this new measure was not explained on arrival. I will reinforce this communication with front office. Thank you again for staying , we hope to welcome you back again soon. Kind regards James Whelan Hotel Manager

Great location and facilities, nice view, a short walk to caville ave but away from all the noise of the nightclubs and bars on caville ave.
Bathroom could of be cleaner and we had some issues requesting additional pillows.
After the first night, I requested an additional pillow and a gentleman on reception offered me two, but I thought one would be enough. This pillow arrived with no issue at all.
On the second night I requested another pillow and was first told this would be sent to our room along with the laundry wash we requested. The pillow didn’t arrive with the laundry liquid and we left for dinner and arrived back at around 8.30pm, still no pillow, we called reception from our room to be told one would be there shortly, another hour went by 9.20pm, still no pillow, we called reception again to be told by a different staff member that this is a service they do not offer. We mentioned we had received it before so this didn’t make any sense, after a back and fourth disagreement regarding the situation, we were told one would be on its way. 30 minutes went by and still no pillow, I went down to reception to ask, I was asked how many people were staying in our room and again told this is a service they do not offer. I mentioned it was just my partner and I and that I am pregnant requiring the additional support to ensure I sleep in the right position.
The pillow arrived within 20 minutes.
This was quite disappointing, no guest, pregnant or not should need to go through such an ordeal to get an extra pillow, being a 5 star hotel - additional pillows, blankets and in room coffee/tea/bathroom supplies are a bare minimum that all other hotels provide.
We hope this improves for future visits.

After we had booked in and paid we were then told that parking was over 500 metres away in a separate building. Had we known this beforehand we would not have stayed there. I got thoroughly soaked walking back in the rain and it was only when complained that they told me that they could have supplied an umbrella.
The next morning as we went out we asked for our room to be made up using existing bedlinen as per the details in your 'in room manual' and reception confirmed this would be done. When we returned in the early evening the room had not been touched. I rang housekeeping for an explanation and they told me that room servicing had been suspended because of staff shortages. Again had we known this at check in we would not have stayed with you. Housekeeping did agree to provide fresh towels and toiletries which we found later dumped outside our room inside a large plastic bin liner.
On our final day departure again it was raining heavily so I fetched the car and drove round to the front of the hotel to load upoour bags. The entire front of the hotel was now closed off for construction alterations which meant that we had to load our bags outside opo the street and in the rain.
This is far from the standard of care and attention we expected from Meriton Suites.

The level 21 room with ocean view was the best option we have chosen. The building location made it easy to access the beach, restaurants, clubs and nightlife, as well as the shops and other aminities.
The routine cleaning service was rescinded without any notice and they only do a once a week on demand cleaning which caused a problem for us. Because we stayed there for a week and we only received one house keeping and cleaning after we asked two days in a row.
Overall, the stay was good and some of their staff were really helpful, but some others, not so much unfortunately.

Hello KiaJan Thank you for the time taken to share your review with us and the Tripadvisor community. It's fabulous to hear you enjoyed a luxury stay with an ocean view, close to the beach, restaurants and nightlife when staying with Meriton Suites Surfers Paradise. I'm sorry during your stay our daily housekeeping service was unavailable. Due to the current wave of covid we have had to make the hard decision to suspend this, it's for the best interests of health and safety for our guests and staff. We do hope to welcome you back again in the future. Kind Regards, Amanda S

A room at the front of the hotel would be an Ocean view and at the side,a coastal view surely? When we were there some 2 months ago, construction was on going, some building noise even at 8am. They were also grossly under staffed. Maybe they have it sorted by now. I am not sure if it was a design fault in just our room,or an inherent fault in overall construction, but when the wind blew hard, the doors rattled, which was annoying when happened at night. Good luck!
