I stayed a week in apartment 32 on level 10, overlooking the beach with an uninterrupted view of the ocean. To say the outlook is spectacular seems like an understatement, and if you like the sound of the surf this is defiantly the place for you. The location is excellent. A short, flat walk to shops, restaurants, cafés, and bars. Less than a 10 min walk to supermarkets, shopping precincts and night clubs. It is only a 5-minute walk to the Surfers Paradise night markets held every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and polite. I had a small issue with the receipt and found the front desk staff approachable, the issue was resolved on the spot. The list below is lengthy, and it may seem that I’m running the place down, but I’m a details person. I would happily stay again, details provided may help you prepare for your stay. The bed was comfortable though a little on the firm side for my liking. Overall, I found the room was very clean, but was disappointed to find the previous guest had left an obviously unwashed bowl in the cupboard. The kitchen is very small and lacks counterspace, I used the dining table for meal prep. No dishwasher but washing up liquid and a tea towel is provided. Supplied amenities were minimal, while there were a few satchels of tea and coffee no milk was provided. The soap and shampoo supplied were single use. The lounge and dining room are serviced by a split system air conditioner that is very quiet and cools efficiently. There is no air conditioner in the bedroom. Water pressure isn’t great but sufficient. I was pleasantly surprised to find a full range of Foxtel channels not just a few select sports and news as so often the case. The Apartments are overdue for renovations and there are a few maintenance and housekeeping issues. In my room there were some broken tiles, the sliding door for the laundry would only close halfway and one of the towels provided was so threadbare it had a hole in it. A fresh coat of paint here and there would certainly brighten the place up. Although I understand the need to book the BBQ’s and Tennis court, I thought that a $50 deposit to ensure it was left clean was a tad excessive. I can only assume that they have had issues in the past. Car parking needs to be booked and confirmed ahead of time. I have a mid-sized sedan and found the spaces a bit tight, guests with large 4 x 4s might find it a bit of a challenge. Previous reviewers have mentioned the street noise. Given that the building is right on the Esplanade some occasional noise should be expected. I stayed from a Monday to Monday, I only noticed an increase in road noise on the weekend evenings which is understandable. If you can overlook the small things, The Olympus Apartments are great value for money and defiantly deserves to be on your short list.

We were on level 10, the room view was sensational, I spent a lot of time on the balcony admiring the wonderful scenery. The location is perfect. Beach across the road, great breakfast place a couple of minutes walk, and the heart of Surfers Paradise shopping within easy walking distance. Secure underground parking, though spaces are small.
Yes, it is far from perfect. The place is a little rundown. There was only aircon in the living room, none in the bedroom and it did get quite hot. The ceiling fan was so noisy you couldn’t sleep with it on. There is a fair amount of street noise, though you’re on the main esplanade of Surfers Paradise so it is to be expected. The noise from the ocean was very loud, which I found quite soothing.
Overall, if you’re not too fussy, for price and location, it’s hard to beat. We will stay again for sure.

There a lots of pros and cons with this property. But more cons than pros. The common thread on the reviews on this property is that the rooms are tired and need maintenance. Those reviews are correct.
Pros - location, secure parking, views (to die for) pool.
Cons - in desperate need of a make over and maintenance. I doubt the rooms are ever professionally cleaned or things checked. A lot of annoying maintenance issues. We paid $1300 for 12 nights which was fantastic but peak season the same rooms are 300 - 500 a night. Way too much for the state of rooms.
But would I stay here again and the answer is yes for the price we paid. Any more than that then I'd be looking at a better maintained property.

I have stayed here before and it was amazing- I have now reached out and booked for the September holidays - I have asked for a special request to stay in the same room if possible as last year with the bed split in 2 as only me and my daughter - the hotel confirmed in a email that my request for the same apartment and requirements was - approved at no extra cost - which was lovely - now the reservations are taking this approval back not acknowledging that they have already said it is approved and harassing my to upgrade my room for more money - when yet again they already approved the request - they won’t provide me with the hotels reception phone number to talk to the same lovely people who work in the hotel I have asked several times - very disappointed as this is a upcoming trip - the special request was approved and they are trying to dismiss this now - I have had a neck operation and am a single mum trying to just take her somewhere she and I loved last year with the same apartment- again already said approved to - this isn’t fair we were so looking forward to the stay and the hotel reservation team are making it very hard - The hotel itself is nice and the staff are amazing Not happy as again already approved they are just trying to get more money and dismissing that they approved it already - they shouldn’t be able to do this And I would like a phone number to call the hotel reception too Withholding and mucking is about is a lot of stress for 5 nights to try to show my daughter a nice time after such a bad year Upset indeed

As soon as we checked in we were shocked by the state of the building on the inside. Very dirty and old, makes you feel like you checked into a cheap hostel in New York City. When we walked in to the room we couldn’t believe the state it was in. Dirty kitchen cupboards, moldy bathroom shelves, half of the place had rusty kitchen appliances. There was leftover paint left next to the dryer and washing machine. Toaster and kettle haven’t been cleaned for months if not years- really disgusting. We have contacted our agent wanting to cancel, only to realize there was nothing available on the weekend in Surfer’s paradise. We we’re told we’re getting some form of compensation from the hotel but got nothing- not even an apology! You also have to pay if you want fresh towels, toilet paper, coffee, tea etc. To this day I have never experienced this in any other hotel. It was a horrible stay and I wish I read the reviews before I booked. Hopefully my review can help someone else to not book here and go to any other place in the area. Seriously overpriced for what they offer and the only good thing about the hotel was location- that being said I’d rather drive next time then stay here ever again! I’m surprised they haven’t had any inspection yet as it is disgustingly unsafe especially during pandemic.

We've stayed at the Olympus a few times now and have always enjoyed it. The location is ideal to enjoy Surfers without being right in the middle of it, the 180 degree views of the coast from the balcony are amazing and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It's not a new building and some of the fixtures and fittings are getting a bit tired but that is reflected in the bargain price, and the rooms have always been very clean.

Location and view was great, we could hear the sound of waves and see the ocean while sitting on balcony. The early morning sunrise was extremely beautiful. There's many restaurants and shops just by walking and no need drive a car, as everything around the hotel. Very friendly staff Paul, thanks, will be back.

Ive travelled extensively & Ive never seen such filth! The apartments are so disgusting, mould on the curtains, rust and rings around laundry, stains beyond anything I have ever seen on the lounge suit, the kitchen table not wiped down, nor anything else wiped down. The kitchen is so old you cannot cook a meal, well would you use filthy cutlery and plates with left over meal scraps? The window that look at the surf are so dirty you cannot see through them. The car park is so small & the pipes leak rusty water onto your vehicle. The Management are liars and state they will refund your money over & over never offering receipt numbers nor dates of refund. Dont go. Olympus is revolting and full of liars.

Perfect for a relaxed quiet holiday to really soak it all in. That front-row view of the beach and ocean as far as the eye can see is insanity! The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room i stayed in was newly renovated, very clean and well maintained . I prefer this vibe over a fancy 5 star hotel any day.

Very central location close to the shops and coffees. There's amazing ocean views even in the room, we watched the beautiful sunset on the balcony. Room was clean and spacious. The manager Paul was very welcoming and helpful. We arrived late, but it's not a problem to get the keys with instructions very easy.

Hi. The building is reasonably tidy and offers excellent views, but it was the cleanliness that hit us when we arrived. Once the place was clean it was acceptable. There was another issue with some of appliances not working correctly, but this was rectified.
There are more places to choose from in the Surfers Paradise area.
