Gorgeous room, sensational buffet breakfast, BUT.... the place is haunted. Was woken several times during the night by a small child from an era back in the 1800s I'd say - she didn't frighten me, but I was exhausted and wanted to sleep.
The rooms are large, well laid out with high ceilings and elegant decor. The bed was very comfortable. Apart from the train that runs down the main street, the hotel is very quiet. An excellent breakfast is included in the price. Recommended.
What a delightful place to stay! I’m so used to seeing antique attempted on the cheap. This place is not cheaply done! It’s done perfectly. The bed was super comfy, the bath was exquisite, the furnishings were comfortable and genuine. It’s so luxurious. I particularly loved the “Bates Motel” style plumbing fixture which added that layer of authenticity. Breakfast was simple but tasty.
The quality of the furnishings were really lovely - a high-ceilinged room with a huge corner spa bath, a 4-poster bed and aircon.. The breakfast the next morning was ok, and the staff very helpful. Boutique hotel sums it up nicely.
A last minute stop on a trip heading north. We arrived late, no-one was on the office, however we found our way in. The room was amazing, beautiful tall ceilings, amazing spa bath, very comfortable 4 post bed. We had read the reviews of the bull riding at the bar across the road, however we were there on the wrong day. They were closed on Mondays. We found another restaurant in town, even dodging the freight trains that literally run up the middle of the street. It is in an industrial part of town, however it is surprisingly quiet, might be different when the pub is in full swing. An interesting experience.
