This is a beautifully decorated hotel. The rooms are period style and spacious The four poster bed is the most comfortable I have experienced I’ll definitely be back with my wife in the next trip as she will appreciate the place Breakfast is continental style in a gorgeous dining room It’s definitely worth the stay
This is one of the best places we have stayed at for a romantic getaway for a couple, soon as we opened the door it was a “wow” factor, bed was massive, spa was excellent and we felt like a King & Queen. Definitely will be returning and highly recommend
This colonial styled hotel is a delight to visit. The furnishings, the extremely high ceilings, the big 4 poster, very comfy bed, the spacious rooms and the spa bath made for a beautiful atmosphere. Unfortunately our spa had been fixed during the day and despite the best efforts of onsite staff the air lock couldn’t be sorted but it was neither here nor there to us. The Manager wanted to give us another room and was really concerned about the lack of facility. The offer was genuinely appreciated but not necessary. We were disturbed once through the night by a passing goods train but the thick walls toned down the noise and we decided it was a small price to pay for the experience of being here. All in all - a great time was had by all.
The photos on line must have been photoshopped as the actual hotel looked heaps different to what we were expecting. We were expecting a huge garden with areas to go for a wander. What we had is a very small garden (nicely manicured) and no areas to walk or relax. Directly opposite a main pub, on a busy road and in the middle of an industrial area. The actual building does look lovely and has a lot of character. The room we stayed in has very high ceilings, a 4-poster bed and a spa bath. The tv had poor reception but we managed to fill the time up in other ways. We didn't have a meal as this was unavailable during our stay but the room for eating looked really quaint and old fashioned, just as our room did too.
We had an overnight stay at the Denison Boutique Hotel , the Hotel was clean and well kept , earplugs on the dresser set off a few alarm bells though , its located close to the train track and we heard 2 trains overnight, it overlooks a quite industrial area also , there was a lovely big spa in the room but the bath salts had to be purchased (not complimentary) thats a first for us many options for accommodation in Rockhampton probably will try somewhere else next time
The Denison hotel is a beautifully restored heritage hotel. Large well appointed rooms with charming decor and spa, it is our go to hotel when staying in Rockhampton. The area around the hotel is not much but this means little, the comfort and luxury of the rooms outweighs the slightly run down area. The 2’ thick stone walls keep the outside noise at bay giving you an oasis of calm. Super comfortable king bed and spa tub add to the total comfort and ambiance. The pub across the road does great steaks and is definitely worth a visit for dinner. We’ll be back.
An old railway training building re equipped as a hotel. Rooms are old fashioned four poster beds etc. Victorian furniture for character!. The spa bath in the room was unusual but separate toilet made it workable. Breakfast at $10 was a bargain.
My partner and I arrived at the Denison boutique hotel at 6:20pm. It was after hours so we had to use the after hours check in but this was okay. We typed a password into a safe and a key to our room dropped. We made our way to our room. It was very nice, big and spacious. Huge tub. Lots of little things in the room for purchase, fully stocked fridge. Very nice. The only disadvantage about this hotel is the location - it is in a very industrial area and by a railroad so it was somewhat loud in the morning. We did however have a wonderful stay and would come again.
Charming period Hotel in Rockhampton that is well worthy staying in. Check In was swift and with a smile. Everything is clearly explained. The rooms are very large and very well appointed. I doubt you will find a property in Rockhampton with such high and period style decor. 4 Poster beds are absolutely the bees knees for comfort, crisp cotton sheets and the rooms smell clean and fresh. Nice quality towels and a good shower with lots of hot water. Theres a great mini bar/snacks and the pricing is most reasonable. Theres a buffet continental bfast on for $10. Will definately stay here again
A lovely old building with smashing rooms - all needs catered for and wanted for nothing. Our room did smell a bit musty but not worthy of complaint - just of note. Also our aircon had a mind of it's own and we were hot all night - I did mention it the following day and they receptionist was very apologetic and told me off (in jest) for not calling her in the evening and letting her know - my fault entirely. I have seen comment in other reviews concerning the train noise. Well, if you do book here you should do your research and know that the railway line is mere meters away. There is, in my humble opinion, no excuse for not knowing that and therefore do not complain. On the positive side - there was only one train late in the evening that we heard although my wife assures me there were others but their noise was drowned out by my snoring! We had dinner at the pub across the road - friendly staff and food was OK but if you are looking for a great steak that Rockhampton is famous for you won't get it here. Would certainly return - love the rooms. Thank you.…
