I spent 2 nights at Edge apartments last week while in Rockhampton. Check in was quick and friendly, and I was advised to park anywhere available in the carpark. Going into the carpark, there was nothing available and I ended up parking on the street. On the second night, again I drove through the car park but there were no spaces available, so also ended up parking on the street. The room was basic but comfortable and clean. A reverse cycle air conditioner was included, and there was a fridge, sink and microwave in the room. Wifi is provided free of charge and it works. The room was incredibly hot when I arrived at it, but after an hour the aircon had worked and cooled it down. There is an Indian restaurant and bar on the ground floor, which I highly recommend. Excellent food. It is a short walk to the shopping centre, and there is a river nearby which is good for walking along. As a big benefit, the Edge does not charge any surcharge of paying by credit card. Hotels have been one of the most bullish industries in applying surcharges, despite enjoying more benefits than other industries (booking guarantees, pre-authorisations, charging for no-shows, charging for late charges, avoiding large cash transactions), so it was VERY welcome that the quoted price at Edge is the actual price that you pay without a surcharge. I would happily stay here again for a short stay in Rockhampton (but bear in mind the lack of parking).…

Property is in great location. Room was very spacious with modern well maintained facilities. House keeping did a great job in preparing and servicing the room each day. Supermarket close by for supplies and some very good eateries near by. Parking was easy….the only gripe was the continued uncleanliness of the lifts. Apart from that, highly recommend.

Used this apartment hotel for a one night stopover on our trip down the east coast of Queensland. Good location a short walk from the town centre. Good quality apartment with secure parking at no extra cost. Very friendly staff and excellent for a walk along the river

Stayed in room 602B. Entered room mid afternoon curtains open and western sun blazing in and was about 40C. Turned on a/c to cool room which took a while as the A/c was very old. Around 10pm the old original build split system a/c stopped working and within 1/2hr it was like a sauna in the room so opened window briefly but to many bugs entered. Went down to reception and was given a fan - no offer of another room. Took the fan to the room which just circulated the hot air. Night manager came up briefly but couldn't get A/C to work and promptly left. Got about 1.5hr sleep all night on a mattress that needed replacing years ago. Woke up sweating about 5.30am. Couldn't stay in the heat any longer. Packed up, cold shower and checked out. Told check out person about it but very little compassion shown and and was told to have a nice day !!!! No offer to speak to a duty Manager. Won't be staying there again. A/C filters were filthy and needed cleaning and may have been why it stopped working??…

I apologise we were unable to find a more comfortable solution to you on the night, we certainly would have moved you rooms however on this evening the Hotel was fully booked and we did not have another room available. However, I do appreciate you advising our team of the fault with the air-con as we were able to get a Technician out to investigate the fault and repair the air-con the following day. Spacious apartment in a good location I originally had booked into the Quest down the road at a rate of $189 night. When I saw how tiny the studio room was and that there was no balcony or outside area on the premises I moved to Edge Apartments. $210 got me a very spacious 1 bedroom with separate lounge, laundry, bathroom & balcony Gallery kitchenette very well equipped including coffee pod machine with pods as well as the usual coffee & tea making facilities Table & chairs inside and on the balcony, TV & Air con in both lounge & bedroom Staff very friendly and accommodating Location on the river with a lovely walkway Restaurants all along the strip Parking undercover

My experience in staying here has been amazing, for what was only meant to be a 2-night stay turned into a week stay due to some circumstances but this hotel could not be more accommodating and friendly and they make you feel so welcome and nothing is a hassle to them. The rooms are so tidy and credit to the cleaners and the toiletries are amazing also. The beds are also really comfy and the pool is also really good. It is a short walk down to the river and also close to pubs and coffee shops and restaurants and a 5-10 minute drive to Stocklands. i honestly cant fault it

We had a two bedroom/bathroom apartment and it was lovely - super spacious, quiet and looked to be recently refurbished. Shout out to the cleaning staff as the whole apt. was lovely and clean and smelled fresh. Comfy beds, great shower, apt cleaned and restocked each day. Helpful and very friendly front desk staff. We were lucky enough to be on floor 10 so had a lovely peaceful stay with no noise. We will definitely return.

Incredible staff! I arrived at the hotel after injuring my back and the staff could not have been more accommodating. From the ladies at the front desk offering to help with bags and another gentleman offering to organise a doctor, nothing was beyond them. I had booked for 2 nights however due to my back I need to stay an extra night in Rockhampton, however the hotel was fully booked as was their affiliated hotel. The manager went out of his way and found me a room at another hotel nearby. As a solo traveller these situations can be difficult, however these guys really came through. Thank you!!!

I had to cancel my reservation owing to a business issue in Brisbane. I rang to advise of the cancellation and was told I would be charged. I said owing to the fact that I was a regular customer I asked that I not be charged. The lady I spoke to on the phone said she would speak to her manager and call me back. I was not called back. I have stayed at Empire & Edge regularly of the past years. I will never return. Regards Tony
