I have no problem with the cabin BUT the EXTRA CHARGE for parking my boat both on our trip up and back from Lucinda was outrageous. We have stayed in this park over the last 16 years both ways and this was the first time we have been RIPPED OFF so from now on we will seek other accommodation.I would not recommend this park to anyone with a boat

We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your most recent experience. Unfortunately during May to September (every year), it is our high winter season, so we are extremely busy with caravans. Thus at this time of year we cannot accommodate your large boat/trailer as easily as we would any other time. We hope to see you again. Thank you.

We stopped off here as a rest on our drive up the east coast. We arrived quite late, but we had completed an online checkin so was able to go straight in and find our pitch easily.
The campsite was quiet (we stayed mid-week). The toilet and shower facilities were modern and very clean. There was a BBQ area and fish cleaning section - unfortunately there was old scales left on the grass which wasn’t ideal.
Our overall stay was good and we were able to carry on our journey after a good nights sleep.

This park is great, we loved the big, spacious sites. Amenities are terrific, large and clean. I would say, that we paid top dollar for our site, have never paid $55 for a grass site ever! However, it was mostly quiet at night, well lit fir security.
We felt admin let this place down, we were checked in by an incredibly unhelpful person, and whilst we will absolutely stay here again, they need to look at their customer service skills.

Upon arrival to reception after 600 kilometres of driving I was met by a very unfriendly and quite rude older lady. We had two vehicles one being a small truck which I had enquirered about parking for it when I booked. She was almost yelling at my partner in the car park about where he should be parking it.
The pet friendly cabin was very ran down and in need of a good clean and a makeover.
We had to sleep at the foot of the bed as there was no power point near the bed and my partner has a sleep apnea machine.
The curtains were paper thin and the bedroom was lit up all night with the parks street lights directly outside.

We are sorry to hear that you did not have a pleasant experience with us. Unfortunately with it being such a busy time of year we did not have any of our luxury rooms available at the time you stayed. Next time I would suggest trying one of our Pet friendly Tropical Villas or Chalets. We also recommend if you are travelling with a truck to ring us 10 minutes before you arrive so we can advise you where to park on check in. Hope to see you again in the future.

This park does not cater well for the caravans. Getting in an out the entrance was a nightmare and the traffic noise at night was unbearable. We had to travel to Cairns during this Virus time and so the park had it's rules of course. They made us stay on a drive through site with an ensuite for $50 and fill out a 2 page questionare. Funny, we did not have to fill out any at another 2 parks on the way. They did not mention free wifi or offer any other help. The site was so tight that you could clearly see that vans before ours had hit the guttering on the little amenities block as they were all damaged. Expensive park but maybe good for families in cabins but grey nomads, stay away.

We've stayed here on powered sites quite a few times over the years using our G'Day membership. I couldn't believe the price we paid for a drive thru powered site at $51.30 and that was with a 10% membership discount. The most expensive place we stayed on our trip up north, we paid a lot less for a powered site at Hervey Bay and Kurrimine Beach and had a site near a beach. Sorry guys too expensive and will find another park to stay.

Returned to Southside Holiday Village for a third (?) visit. This time we had a spacious two-bedroom cabin that included a large lounge room with two lounges, fully equipped kitchen with large refrigerator, air conditioners in each bedroom plus one in the main living room. Lovely clean bathroom with large shower and plenty of water supply and pressure. Best of all was the most heavenly bed. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We ended up staying twice as long as originally planned.

Large ants in the bed and bedroom. Air con remote was stuck on cold and we had to get maintenance to replace it. Cabin backs onto railway line so we had 4 nights of no sleep because of trains and shunting bins through the night to the point we thought they were coming through the wall. Do not go there for a "holiday", it is full of workers and there are constant reversing noises from utes especially at around 6am. We based our stay on reviews and were sorely disappointed. Would have stayed elsewhere after first night, but being school holidays there was no alternative available. Will never recommend this place.

Good - very clean, excellent toilet/shower block, pet friendly, friendly staff.
Bad - Very noisy due to main road and rail/container depot behind site. We got next to no sleep as the noise did not stop all night.

Day 4 of 5 Darwin to Brisbane.
Reception were warm friendly and accommodating hooking us up with a cabin immediately.
Open the door to the cabin we could smell the clean! The place was modern tidy and so immaculately clean !!!
Bed was a little small probs a little double but we didn’t mind too much.
Park was perfect great little pool beautifully maintained. Could not recommend highly enough!

We are currently doing a trial period of specific pet friendly cabins for small pets. Type of animals allowed is at discretion of management.
