Highly recommend - great two bedroom apartment each bedroom has its own large ensuite bathroom. The water pressure and instant hot water is amazing as new fixtures. This apartment is CLEAN! I cannot fault it I even feel comfortable walking bare foot on the carpet! They have thought of everything. We found olive oil, soy sauce, salt, canola oil, coffee, sugar. Tea milk. Dishwasher powder, washing machine liquid. Washer and dryer. One queen bed and two singles and I’m pretty sure the couches are fold out beds. Bothe bedrooms have aircon and ceiling fans and there is a third air con in the lounge area. Both bedrooms have large wardrobes. A good selection of pillows and comfy mattress. Literally a 2 minute walk to the beautiful beach right Out front of the nets and a 5 minute walk into town. Quiet. Large veranda with an outdoor table and chairs as well as two sun beds. Foxtel TV. Internet is free and GOOD! Pool is lovely and enough sun beds for the space but you may need to sit at the BBQ area if busy. When we arrived the aircon was on, TV on and ready, kettle filled. We’ll appointed kitchen with everything you need. We will absolutely be back. Did I mention how clean it is? I was in a two bedroom apartment 7. Underground parking and on street parking.

I could not speak more highly of 'Mowbray By The Sea' and owners Martin & Theresa. Mowbray is an affordable 4+ Star Rated Accommodation with 5 Star Service and is in the best location in Port Douglas right next to the beach and 3 mins from the main St, Macrossan Street. I chose Mowbray again for my 6th stay because it continues to tick all the boxes and is by far the right choice. I have been coming to Port Douglas for 26 years now and would not stay anywhere else.
The rooms are very spacious & clean, 2 newly renovated bathrooms, Foxtel, large flat screen TV, free Wi Fi, comfy couches, well appointed kitchen, cold fridge, 3 air con units, awesome pool that is currently getting a facelift and spa, comfy bed and more !.....all you need is your groceries from the local Coles and you are set.
When I arrived Martin & Theresa greeted me with a warm welcome and when I opened the door to an already Air Conditioned Apartment with attention to detail evident throughout, I noticed that they even provide you with beach towels, thank goodness because I had forgotten mine again !
I would like to thank Martin & Theresa who were very warm, friendly genuine, caring and helpful throughout our stay as well as assisting me to decide on the many tours to choose from with their local knowledge and the best day weather wise to hit the Reef for some snorkelling, these guys went out of their way to ensure that I was comfortable and happy throughout my stay.
You will love this place, the location and your hosts Martin & Theresa will definitely make your stay a memorable one...why pay more for something less comprehensive.

Fantastic location and spacious rooms. Our family of four (including two kids 8 and 6) stayed here in June 2022 for ten days. The location is amazing; a very short walk to the main shopping strip and an even shorter walk to Four Mile Beach We received a text the day before our arrival confirming our check-in time an we were warmly welcomed at check-in. The rooms are spacious, clean and well appointed. Each main room has air conditioning, with the bedrooms configured as a king bed and two singles beds. Each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. The kitchen has everything we needed to cook meals for four and included a large fridge The smart TV with Netflix, iView, etc kept the kids entertained after a long day at the beach! Highly recommended and we’ll definitely be back The heated swimming pool was welcome in the winter and we spent hours playing in it

I booked two apartments for a family break for week in December and I regret it. The apartments are located in a great location and with in walking distance of Port Douglas Main Street but that's where the positives end. The apartment furniture is very dated, coffee table chipped and sofa's are old and uncomfortable. The bathrooms were dirty and the overall vibe of the apartment is dark, smelly and depressing. One of our apartments dishwasher leaked and water pooled on the floor causing a danger, the water damaged skirting board and wobbly tiles tell me the owners are aware of the problem for some time. As you walk through the apartments the corridors are dirty and for the full week I was there were not swept/cleaned (evidently not been done for a while). The pool was never cleaned in the time we were there, in fact my husband took to sweeping all the leaves from the pool on day 5 as he was so frustrated by the lack of care. ( I honestly could continue to write a long list of issues but these were major ones) Please don't be fooled by the reviews and stay elsewhere, the owners have clearly neglected this for a while and its not worth staying here.

A very spacious, comfortable and clean room! We arrived to a precooled room which was lovely as the temperature was a balmy 32 degrees with high humidity! A bit of a culture shock to Tassie visitors! The unit was well equipped, the beds comfortable and the ensuites were a good size. The sliding doors to the bathroom could do with a little maintenance as they were hard to slide open and close but that is a very minor detail! We loved the balcony area and the birdlife that lived in the trees- there was always a choir of song! The pool was lovely, and the hotel is located very centrally to Macrossan St and the Marina area. We walked everywhere. We would highly recommend Mowbray, especially for families with older kids!

We stayed at Mowbray fro 5 nights and it was above amazing. Everything we need was there from dishes detergent to kitchen cloth. will defo come back and recommend. the host was lovely, we arrived at like 9.00pm and she's still waiting for us at the desk and assist us with checking in. instruction was clear and nothing to complaint

Comfie beds and pillows. 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment, super clean. We didn't use the pool as 4 mile beach and the swim net area is less than 100ms down the road. Easy 10 minute walk into town or to the marina. Well located

Location alone would make Mowbray by the Sea a really great option in Port Douglas. But it also has a fantastic helpful manager, attractive, comfortable fit out, spacious private balconies, great pool and very well equipped kitchens. Right next to Four Mile Beach and 5 min to the main Street, everything feels easy.

We spent a fantastic week at Mowbray just before QLD closed its borders and we are already planning our next stay once we can return. We want to thank Martin and his team for making our stay so comfortable and it is so refreshing to meet an owner who is so customer focused and works so hard to get everything right for you. Incredibly flexible and accommodating, which made our holiday so much more enjoyable. The apartment was perfect and really well fitted out with everything you need. It was spacious super clean, comfortable beds and lounge and a well equipped kitchen. A proper oven and hob, large fridge and a separate utility with washer and dryer and a lovely large balcony. The complex has underground secure parking and an excellent heated lap pool that we used every day. Mowbray is just set back from 4 mile beach and an easy walk into town – no more than 5-10 minutes to restaurants and cafes and a great night sleep as very quiet at night. I spent a lot of time looking at other options before booking Mowbray and so glad we made this choice. We couldn’t recommend it highly enough and will definitely be back. We had a fantastic long weekend at Mowbray by the Sea. The perfect location - 1 minute walk to the beach, a cafe with great coffee and the Surf Club which has a playground for the kids. Only 5 minute walk to the Main Street for groceries, shopping and other restaurants. Incredibly clean apartments with everything you need for a self contained stay. Beds were super comfy, pool was heated, FOXTEL and wifi included. The management were lovely and went over and above to assist us with bedding changes to accommodate our family, high chair, a stroller, beach toys and umbrellas. And we received a great locals special by booking directly. We will definitely stay again on our next visit to Port Douglas. Thankyou!
