Such a lovely place to stay with a family. Peter and Amanda work so hard to make sure you feel welcome and comfortable. The property is in a great location, very quiet but really close to the main street. The apartments themselves are well kept and have everything you need and the pool is seemingly always a perfect temperature.
We will definitely return here.

We have just returned from a lovely week stay at this very family friendly resort. We are a family of 4, with a 9 year old and 11 year old. First off I would like to say that the resort managers Peter and Amanda are wonderful. They are genuinely super caring, helpful and friendly. It makes you really think about how tough the last year would have been for these family businesses, and how long it will take to recover. Peter and Amanda organised a few excellent tours for us. The resort is well managed, clean and well looked after. It is well positioned with easy walks to the beach (where we spent a lot of time body boarding within the stinger nets), the quay and the main shops. Even though the resort and the town was far from full, despite it being Easter holidays, you definitely needed to book ahead at restaurants as most were full every night. It offers great value for money. Sure the big hotels might be flasher, but at 3 or 4 times the price you would expect them to be. Would I be happy to return? - 100%. All the best - John, Jenny, Alice & Eddie

Angela and I stayed with Amanda and Peter during our second visit to Port Douglas in 2020. Our first stay was at a well known 5* resort on four mile beach and we emphatically preferred our stay at the Outrigger. Location is superb, almost equidistant from the Superyacht Marina, Macrossan Street and Four Mile Beach, all within an easy walk. Its just far enough away from town to give the feeling of isolation and tranquility when you want to get away from the crowds and at night it's lovely and quiet.
We found our room, which was spotless as others have mentioned, had absolutely everything that we needed for our 10 day stay although doubtless had we come up with a request our hosts would have gone the extra mile to meet it.
Often the difference between good and superb accomodation comes down to the Management and Angela and I can't recommend the Port Douglas Outrigger highly enough. Amanda and Peter are those special kind of people who you just know want to go the extra mile to make every guests stay as enjoyable and relaxing as possible. It's a frequently expressed intention on review sites to visit again but in our case, we will DEFINITELY be returning so get that bottle of wine on ice Amanda and Peter, see you in 2021.

Amanda and Peter where amazing hosts. From the moment of arriving til departing 7 days later.
Nothing was ever a problem.
They went far and way beyond to make my stay a great experience.
They are full of knowledge and helpful advice of the local area, off shore activities, restaurants and even a been able to organise to and from transfers from the airport wasn’t a problem for them.
Having BBQ facilities beside the pool meant you could truly kick back and relax and just enjoy your time away from home.
The local trawler(Saturday and Sunday)was just in walking distance and so where the shops and restaurants . No need for a car at all. The shuttle picked us and dropped us at the front gate in no time at all all times of the day/night even public holidays.
I’ve traveled a lot and stayed in many 5 star places and this place is just as good if not better on service, cleanliness and attention to detail, they truly go out of there way to make you feel special.
(This was a work trip and I wouldn’t have any problems in recommending this to further employees and companies).
I will be back, but this time bringing my family with me.

We two stayed for 3 weeks and had the best time. Amanda & Peter the operators were a font of knowledge and so much fun, even joining us one night for a bbq around the pool. And organised our sunset cruise for us.
The apartment block is in a quiet street and Apmt 5 faces the road. The only noise we heard from the balcony was the birds singing and Peter's quiet chatter with fellow guests enquiries as he cleaned the sparkling pool each morning. The spotless apartment itself had everything and more and some wonderful pillows ahh. 4 mile beach is a 10 minute walk as are the restaurants shops & wharf. From first contact to the final wave it was a memorable pleasure for us and we can't wait to return. Thank you both for your attentiveness and humour. sending hugs

The care and great interest in the wellbeing of the guests by the owners was what stood out to me the most about this property. They were very friendly, professional, and did their very best to ensure that our stay was very comfortable. They also had an excellent knowledge of the area and were often able to provide us with excellent tips and advice on how to make the most of our stay.

For example on check in we were advised that the stores would all be shut the following day because of Easter, and so we were advised to do our grocery shopping soon after check in to avoid being unable to purchase groceries or alchohol the following day.

The apartment we stayed in was well lit, cosy and clean with no signs of ageing or wear and tear that is typical of these types of apartments. We also had a great view of plenty of green and beautiful vegetation from our balcony. The pool is a beautiful shade of blue in the evenings and my wife really enjoyed swimmming in it.

In addition to this, the wireless internet in this accomodation was very easy to connect to, and it was very good in quality. This surprised me because my normal experience with holiday accommodation internet is bad.

Our stay at the Outrigger was amazing, my family loved it there. Our two bed apartment was so clean and a fantastic size for a family of 4. The appartment had everything we needed plus having a dishwasher and washing machine was an added bonus. The pool area was a great and such a beautiful setting with all the trees and bird noises my kids spent hours every day in the pool. The location was perfect! The Outrigger is on a quiet street just a short walk to the Marina, Four Mile Beach and Marcossan Street.
Amanda and Peter were fantastic hosts and made us feel very welcome, my daughters mentioned how they felt like family.
We will definitely be back!

When visiting Port, we have no hesitation in staying at the Port Douglas Outrigger Holiday Apartments. In fact, we have just returned from yet another relaxing a 14 day stay there. The Outrigger is perfectly located. It is in a lovely quiet location, yet is only less than a 5 minute walk up to Macrossan St and is less than a 10 minute walk to either Four Mile Beach or, the Marina. The whole complex, as usual, was well maintained and our 2 bedroom apartment was bright, clean & very well equipped. Our hosts, Peter and Amanda, gave us a warm welcome and were extremely friendly and helpful, especially in organising our airport transfers. As usual, they gave us excellent advice on local attractions and on the best places to eat. It goes without saying that when next up in Port, we’ll again, be staying at the Outrigger. A real home away from home.

We stayed 15 nights in apartment #5 which is at the front of the resort with a partial pool view but even better is the very lush green outlook from the bedroom, balcony and lounge room. This apartment is roomy and well laid out. Full kitchen, both indoor and outdoor dining. Furniture is comfortable and in good condition, bed is very comfortable. Bathroom compact with walk-in shower, also has a washer and dryer. Balcony is a great size, has a nice table and four comfy chairs. The apartment is immaculate, so nice to stay somewhere so clean in this era of Covid-19.

Hosts, Peter and Amanda are always on hand, should you need them. A great couple, suited to hospitality. They keep supplies from previous guests, like beach chairs, shopping bags and have a fridge full of condiments and other food items suitable for new guests to enjoy.

Our experience with the outrigger from the very start was amazing! The speed of correspondence from Amanda and Peter was fantastic, this helped to ease any worries as we were arriving on Christmas Day so I needed to confirm some details.

on our arrival the ease of getting our key was excellent, then checking In The following morning could not have been easier! Amanda and Peter really made us feel welcome with friendly smiles all the time. Nothing was ever a problem for them even when Mother Nature was throwing them some curve balls! They were also very helpful in booking any tours we needed or finding information on things we were interested in doing.

The property itself has been well maintained and is very clean. The facilities such as bbq and pool area are very inviting. The kids had a ball!!! All that you need is within the apartment and if it’s not there Coles is an easy 5 min walk. the majority of restaurants and shops are also a short easy walk. It was a great location.

If I had to say anything bad all I could come up with was my pillow was a little high!!! I think that sums up what a great property this is.

Thank you to Amanda and Peter for helping to make our family holiday a happy and memorable one.

Mel, Pat and the kids
Sydney.

Definitely only stairs, there are some ground floor units, Ring Peter or Amanda 07 4099 5662 to discuss your concerns/requirements. Ground floor is pool area, a couple units, managers unit and covered carpark, with units on two levels above so two flights worst case.
