We booked weeks in advance for the area that was to be set up in front of the pool area. On arrival we needed to present our Covid Vaccination before being admitted and then given a complimentary champagne and shown to our table which was outdoors. I was delighted to see we had a table for two, and there were also several set up for one person only. The waiters were brilliant and ensured we could have a top up when ever required and there was a choice of wine, beer, soft drinks, juices, champagne, along with non alcoholic drinks as well. The tables were beautifully decorated with high quality bon bons, and after lunch there was a visit from Santa with gifts for the children. The Buffet was varied, and there was an emphasis on seafood, and I thought Turkey, or Pork could have been presented rather than a chicken type dish along with roast beef. I did like the Ham and of course one could return to the Buffet as often as one needed, but at a time when social distancing should have been practised I thought the display of food could have been done over a longer area. Cheese, nut and cracker bar was good, but I felt the dessert bar left a bit to be desired and there did not seem to be a lot to choose from, and sticky date pudding was not my idea of a Christmas dessert though the ice cream/sorbet bar was appreciated. All up it was one of the most enjoyable Christmas Days we have experienced and we were most grateful to the staff involved who made themselves available to ensure a function like this could be offered. There was a very talented vocalist and this too was much appreciated. The Luncheon included a 3 hr drink package and though I am not a drinker of alcohol we both thought it was good value considering the amount of staff etc. involved in putting this all together! We had sufficient by 2pm and called it a day and due to the food costs etc, it was definitely worth it!

We decided to do something special for Christmas Day so booked in for Christmas dinner at the Pullman hotel restaurant which was $175 for a buffet and wine. The hotel is just beautiful and even though we had emailed the restaurant asking for an outdoor table they had us seated inside. However once I mentioned it to staff they did very kindly move us outside as requested. Staff were lovely but the down side was lack of variety in the buffet. Although lots of food, almost all of it had some form of seafood in it so you had to really like seafood in order to enjoy. So myself and my daughters who don’t eat a lot of seafood and with one daughter allergic to seafood made for a very light dinner and very expensive meal. Usually a buffet would offer lots of variety so was a hit disappointed at spending so much money for something we did not enjoy. Still the staff and hotel were lovely.

Appreciating its Xmas and lots of families/ kids about we were under no illusion that it would be noisy at times. We requested a quiet room to accommodate that. But Wow, arrived to find our room was directly behind the pool bar area, and the shallow end of the pool. The noise was incredibly bad. Screaming kids from 0700-2200 at night? Rowdy drunks at bar. Not a great start. Bad headache as can’t escape noise. Food: We had pre booked dinner at the restaurant. Arrived to find we were ignored for some time and had to approach unoccupied wait staff saying we had a booking. The table we were shown to was not in the restaurant but out in the main foyer thoroughfare between checkin and the pool. We asked to be reseated in the restaurant as guests were walking past the table enroute to other areas. As we did, a couple unknown to us stopped us on our way saying they stopped coming here to stay because of poor service and kids behaving badly everywhere. Was a bit shocked as we did not know these people but she was right. Hungry we waited for unoccupied wait staff to acknowledge we’d like to order. When they did, menus were dramatically juggled and dropped and the waiter seemed confused saying contradicting things. It took ages for our water to come and on ordering our meals the wait staff did not warn of items no longer available (at 7.30pm), nor missing items from dishes that were only part of what was advertised. So only discovered they had run out of the accompaniment supposed to be part of the meal when ordering it. So duck with chorizo and potato was just duck and potato. Meal arrived. It really was just a duck leg and a potato cut in half. Returned to our room hungry. Still very noisy poolside with kids yelling and screaming which did not stop until well after the 10pm pool closing time. Woken at midnight with occupants next door yelling and slamming doors, which went on far too long, then another person being ill in the pool area (yuck yuck yuck) meant sleep was not possible. Being Xmas day in the morning expecting it to be extremely noisy with kids yelling excitedly in the pool. Given our quiet as possible room request was ignored, not sure how restful our remaining 2 days off will be as the kids are in the pool 0700-2200. We would have left soon after arriving and experiencing the noise, the bad room, the awful food but they had already taken the full cost of our stay out of our account in addition to hundreds more (not told of this). Maybe they’ve had a lot of complaints and people have decided to leave so taking extra funds other than the room cost just because they can, is a way to preempt what people won’t pay for. Dodgy to say the least. For a supposedly 5 star place, the Pullman really needs to decide who it’s catering for, families or all guests. Just because there are kids around does not mean couples or others should have a bad time here especially at the prices charged. If it’s a family resort say so, but you can’t offer a 5 star service to non family guests if all they experience is uncontrolled noise, bad behaviour and a lousy restaurant. We’ve travelled extensively both in Aus and worldwide and this place is right up there as our worst. They could learn something from the French. At their 5 star places kids are exhuberant and welcomed during daylight hours, but come 8pm that’s adults time for some peace and quiet. It’s an idea that should be contemplated in hotels wanting to offer a 5 star service so it’s catering to all, not just rowdy families. Dreading the next 2 days not an ideal way to spend our only very brief and very expensive time off. Just don’t come here at any public holiday time until they start to recognise non family groups importance, or become a kid friendly holiday camp and just don’t advertise as 5 star because it’s not.

My husband and I will never return to this establishment. As a consequence of Accor's new policies we will be cancelling our Accor membership. I have been an Accor member for many years and am disgusted about our recent treatment.

Booked here through The Boutique Collective & got a 3 bed apartment for a stay of 5 women. It was divine. Our zooms were tucked away in a corner, so it was lovely & private. Beautiful with huge bathrooms, spa baths & full kitchen. Large outdoor balcony where you looked over the pool. Underground parking was very easy to get in & out. Has 3 swimming pools and poolside bar. We ate in the restaurant for dinner & a breakfast and all did a day in Vie spa which is in the hotel. Awesome stay.
