A friend and I shared a 2 bedroom apartment at Saltwater late February 2022. We had a wonderful time in Port Douglas. We took in some of the unique experiences of the area (Mosman river drift and Daintree River cruise were highlights). Based at Saltwater, we were central to all that Port Douglas has to offer. Being in the Main Street, everything was within walking distance. It’s a very convenient location. The accommodation is very comfortable and modern. The decor is simple and fresh. As I was travelling with a friend, we especially appreciated that both bedrooms were comfortable, with great beds and both had their own lovely bathrooms (no fighting for bathroom time). There really was no “better room” so we were both happy. Also worth note, I snore quite a bit, so the layout of the apartment with both bathrooms positioned between the bedrooms meant I was not going to disturb my roomie. Capped off by a beautiful and well maintained communal pool area which was a lovely place to relax at the end of each day (especially as this was a hot and humid time of year). Jason was an amazing host and could not have made us feel more welcome. I highly recommend and will be back next time I stay in Port Douglas (which will be soon I hope!).

I spent 5 glorious nights at Saltwater last week and couldn't be happier. Located in the heart of town i feel lucky to have found a little oasis. Right on the main street of town I was able to stay and enjoy a little seaside luxury with no noise and free parking. A great master bedroom with en suite, comfy lounge with a full sized fridge and kitchen. It was understated but classy and was everything I needed. I enjoyed some pool time on a very comfy day bed and given the lack of tourists had it all to myself. The staff were so lovely and kind and just downstairs with lots of local knowledge. They booked me on a wonderful river snorkeling cruise I'd never have found without then. If you want to be in the heart of the action, fall out of bed and into a cafe, but are after quiet classy elegance then look no further. I'm already planning my next trip back.

My husband and I have just returned from 5 days staying in these large, comfortable, clean apartments. The location is amazing, we walked to all restaurants, tours, beach, walking tracks, markets, supermarket and shops. Then when we needed to rest or cool off in the pool we would just pop 'home'. Jason was a wonderful host very knowledgeable and helpful. We will go back to Port Douglas, we will definitely be staying here. Thanks for an amazing holiday!!!

We stayed for 2 weeks May/June 2021 in a 2 BR unit, We are in our 70’s and the other couple with us are in their late 60’s. On arrival we were shocked to discover we had to negotiate 54 steps to our unit. Given my wife was getting over a broken ankle from last year it was not a great start to our holiday, However we did discover that the fire escape exit was only 32 steps and was close to our unit so we used this 90% of the time. The position of the complex was brilliant, right in the heart of Macrossan St and the pool area was also great. However the unit itself was underwhelming, small & cramped with shower over the spa in the main bedroom with an open plan and no privacy for the toilet. The second bedroom that we stayed in had the smallest bathroom imaginable, but did have a king bed but lacked storage for clothes. Lounge area only had one settee and was just not comfortable. Design of the kitchen was rubbish with access to crockery not easy. Just poorly designed. How this unit is regarded as “luxury” is a mystery to me! 3 stars at best!

Re the apartment itself, the 2 bedroom apartments are 85 sq mt and we have all the floor plans on our website to view, again we're sorry you where underwhelmed.

We spent 5 nights at these apartments with our 2 young adult children and we absolutely loved it. Jason is a wonderful host who has an excellent knowledge of the area and some of the things to do. He is also exceptionally organised and made contact with us before our arrival. The apartment was luxurious and very well equipped - everything that we needed to make our stay easy and so relaxing. The location is perfect - walking distance to everything - supermarket, wharf, shops, restaurants, parks etc. We are absolutely keen to do a return trip. This is an excellent place to stay as the apartments are spacious and easily accommodated 4 adults.

I attended an event at Saltwater Apartments which I was really excited about. I had always heard of the panoramic views but never had a chance to see it for myself. The building is a long with very Zen proportions. The layout is very private, elegant & low key which is exactly what I like. I arrived at Apartment 8 to be met with incredible mountain views. Saltwater Apartments are right in the middle of town but feels like your floating above it all. Will definitely be back. Great job boys!

Saltwater is a set of apartments situated above a shopping centre in the main street. This gives an elevated view over the main street, and makes it a perfect location to walk everywhere.
We have stayed a few times now, and tend to park in the basement and don't move our car till it's time to head back to Cairns.
The apartments are really spacious. cleverly thought out, extremely well equipped, and spotlessly clean.
There's a central pool between the two rows of apartments, which is a great spot to catch some sun or relax between day trips and sight seeing.

This was our 3rd time staying at Saltwater. The location is perfect, beach, restaurants, cafes and the Port Douglas marina are an easy short stroll away. Jason and Nathan are warm and welcoming host's, they are a wealth of knowledge when booking tours. We will always look forward to coming back to Port Douglas and staying at Saltwater.

What a joy to be able to travel again and heading to Port Douglas to stay at Saltwater Luxury Apartments was the perfect first destination post Covid isolation and lockdowns. Jason could not have been more helpful arranging a couple of tours for my friends and I that were brilliant and the accomodation at Saltwater at the end of each day was luxurious and comfortable in an unpretentious way. It’s ideally situated to be able to access the best restaurants and bars that Port Douglas offer although after all of this, leaving the great central swimming pool was difficult! Highly recommended.

We hadn't stayed here before, often thinking that it would be too noisy, being in the centre of town, but were most pleasantly surprised by the comfort and space provided, and had no problem with either traffic or people noise. We could walk straight out into the centre of town, which was very convenient. The unit had a fully equipped kitchen, and very comfortable furnishings. The airconditioning was efficient. The only downsides were a lack of dvd player (which was meant to be there), and the intermittent wifi, probably due to the town being so busy. Jason, the manager, couldn't have been more obliging. But there are a lot of stairs, and no lift, so not for the unfit or frail.

We use Exemplar Coaches and Limousines. They charge $41/Adult one way $20.50/Child one way. They give a personalised service of picking you up from your flight and bringing you to Saltwater Apartments. They also have sedan limousine services and private charters available for larger groups. I hope this helps. We can arrange the transport for you, all we need is your incoming/outgoing flight details.
There are more places to choose from in the Port Douglas area.
