We had a really great 10 day stay here. Lyn and Robert were very friendly hosts and sources of useful local information. The room was very clean and had all that we needed including a very comortable bed. The pool was a great spot to soak up some rays. The location can't be beaten as it is very central with everything close at hand for a short walk. Allegra the dog loved her daily scratches from us! We would recommend a stay here and we will be back next year.

We stayed for a week over Xmas and were more than impressed with this property for the money
The apartment we had overlooked the pool with a good sized balcony, there was a gate for easy access to the balcony so made going to the pool easy. The room was plenty big for 2, and had a kitchen area with everything we needed for a week stay. The bed was comfortable the air con cooled the room in minutes it was so comfortable we really have no real complaints. The room was also very clean and we got a towel change.
The owners were amazing aswell they arranged our airport transfers and then rearranged them a few times due to our flights changing at no point Was this a bother to them, we arrived after hours and everything was well set up to allow us to find our room.
The location is perfect right in the heart of macrossan street close to the beach also
Seen some negative reviews about no lifts or no house keeping but they don’t hide this fact people marking them done for this is unfair, if you want daily house keeping go stay in one of the resorts.

From the moment we met the owners Lyn & Robert, we knew we'd made the right decision to spend our 30th Wedding Anniversary at Le Cher :) Totally lived up to our expectations, location was a perfect base for all the restaurants and exploring nearby sites. They accommodated us on our arrival from the midnight horror flight from Perth and we were able to check in earlier than expected ... very grateful.
I really liked the fact that it was 'adult only' which was perfect for the purpose of our stay. Also being fully self contained meant that we didn't have to eat out all the time as we stayed for 10 days - eating out every meal wasn't an option.
Very affordable, clean, comfortable, central ... highly recommend!

We arrived late Sunday afternoon and even though reception was closed Lynne and Rob (the owners) were more than happy to explain how to get to our rooms etc - it does pay to check/read the texts and emails Lynn sends.
Yes there are steps but not many and once you got used to the layout can cut a flight of stairs by entering from the side street entrance. (Lynn explained this to us on the first day) As a mature couple we didn't have any issues with the stairs.
Our room was exactly like our photos depict, spacious well set out and we loved the sliding louvre doors that surrounded the bed enabling the bed area to become a separate room if need be, very functional. Also loved that the TV rotated into the lounge room or bedroom. The veranda overlooking the pool was large enough for us to sit comfortably without intruding on those below using the pool or surrounds.
The pool while not big is large enough to cool off or relax by it in the ample deck chairs or cabana
We had a "big" hire car (Hyundai Staria) which we parked in Le Cher Du Monde's underground carpark. We always got a park and were lucky enough to be able to park it in a spot big enough for a people mover.
Finally when we booked Le Che Du Monde we had no idea this was the same apartments close family have been coming to for quite some time and when told we were staying there raved about it. We see why.

Bang in the middle of the main street the location cannot be faulted....close to everything in beautiful Port Douglas. We had a street facing apartment on the first floor but it was not noisy as everything closes early including the restaurants. Lugging big bags up a flight of steep stairs was not fun,there was no help. The apartment was spacious,reasonablly clean but not spotless, a bit dated, the bathtub could have done with a good scrub or maybe it was just old. The air conditioning was not functioning properly on our first night,we told Rob the next day & he fixed it but it was not very cooling. There is no washing mahine.Clearing out the garbage bins when we left was a first for us & quite strange...the place is not cheap & this service is always included in the price of the room. Guests should not be expected to throw the garbage.

Thanks for your feedback, it is greatly appreciated. We are sorry to hear that the air con wasn't up to expectations, however when it is extremely hot & humid most aircons will struggle a little. We always offer to help carry luggage for guests as a courtesy as we do not offer concierge services, so perhaps you arrived outside of our office hours. A friend of ours recommended Le Cher Du Monde so we thought we'd book it for our recent visit. We were not disappointed.
The self contained apartment was neat, clean and comfortable. We were able to cook our own meals which came in handy at times when we couldn't get into restaurants due to issues with COVID.
We had a balcony view of the mountains and we had access to Netflix on the TV. The wireless was really good too. The swimming pool was a little oasis and we enjoyed cooling off in the pool area.
Hospitality was great. The only thing we thought was strange was that we were told we needed to provide our own toilet paper when our room ran out. We also received a text to inform us that our room was to be serviced but it didn't happen/ That was a minor issue but it wasn't a game changer by any stretch.
Great value for money in an extremely handy location.

Glad you enjoyed your stay with us, and yes our location is perfect, right in the middle of town, easy walking to cafes, supermarket, restaurants, markets and so much more. We are self - catering apartments. Each apartment is supplied with a starter pack of tea/coffee/ paper/ dishwashing liquid etc... to help get you started. This is stated on our website, and also on the information sheet on the table in every room. There is a Coles supermarket 50mtrs along the road from us for any further needs required. We stayed for only two nights, and wished we had the time to stay longer. Le Cher Du Monde is a beautiful boutique hotel situated in the heart of Port Douglas, and only a couple minutes walk from the beach. The decor was colorful and pleasing, the pool a great place to relax. Robert was super helpful with our situation as we had decided to leave another accommodation, and he also provided some great local knowledge. Excellent value for money too. Definitely will be returning on our next visit to Port.

Staying at Cher du Monde was a whole different feel to the usual. We were met by Rob in the carpark and he kindly directed us to a suitable parking spot. He then lead us to sign in and he and Lyn HELPED us carry our bags upstairs to a very roomy 1 bedroom apartment with a fabulous outdoor sitting spot adjacent to the beautifully clean pool. WOW ... surprised and delighted by the view, light, huge bathroom, outdoor space, and easy access via steps to the main street and beach, walks, multiple superb eateries.....and more! Thanks a million for a million dollar experience at a very reasonable rate!! Will definitely come again!! Also, loved the external appeal of the building... great colours really lifted my spirits!

This is the second time I’ve stayed at Le Cher Du Monde in Port Douglas and it doesn’t disappoint!
The apartments are fabulous and have everything ones needs to relax and enjoy their stay. The rooms are private, clean, well stocked & nicely set out, each with their own balcony to enjoy the stunning views.
Centrally located on the main street , it’s just a quick step & a jump to the shops, cafes & restaurants, marina, beach & everything else this great place has to offer! Car parking is available which was also very handy.
As a solo traveller, i always felt safe and that was an added bonus!
As like last time, the staff are lovely, very welcoming and always willing to have a chat or suggest some places to visit - you may even be lucky enough to get a cuddle from the resident dog!!
Thank you so much for making my stay so enjoyable - I can’t wait to come back again... I highly recommend!

We stayed at le Cher du Monde for the Gran Fondo weekend - the apartment was clean, the staff were very friendly, and the location was great! But we left a day early to come home to Cairns - the apartment was just not very comfortable! The bed was uncomfortable, the kitchen was tiny, the bar fridge was not big enough to hold our supplies, there was no laundry in the room (was a guest laundry somewhere, but that had to be paid for), the lounge wasn't particularly comfortable, the tv was quite small, and the bathroom was dated (the shower was in an old-style spa bath). We managed to bring our things, and our bikes, up 2 flights of stairs (no lifts) but older, less fit people may have had a problem. So nothing particularly wrong, but a lot of things that weren't quite right!

Our pool is unfortunately not a lap pool, but is big enough to cater for guests in our 27 apartment holiday complex (pool approx. 18 meters X 8 metres). Also we have lounge chairs both in the sun & under cover. Please check the virtual tour button on our website for an over all look at our complex. Thank you for your email. Generally the majority of guests staying in excess of 7 nights do not rent a car, as they find it does not get utilised until the return trip back to the Cairns Airport. If you do not rent a car whilst here & you would like one day to venture into the Hinterland, there are many car rental offices here in the Port (quite reasonable).
The majority of Tour Companies collect guests from their holiday complex for their tours - also we are located within a 6 minute radius of the beach, the Marina, shopping complex & eateries are outside our complex.
If you are requiring direct return transfers to & from Port Douglas, we are happy to help arrange with return fare for two guests from $132.00 ($66.00 each return).
