We’ve just come of a very enjoyable stay here, Michelle and Sue were great hosts. They accommodated our every need and a proved a trove of local knowledge, and always up for a chat as well!

The Pool was quiet and very well maintained. Our room didn’t overlook the pool, but this would not have been an issue. Incidentally, our room overlooked Davidson St, any concerns about street noise were immediately put to rest, there was none, in fact it was a real joy to sit on the balcony overlooking Davidson St and take in the warm and relaxed climate and generally enjoy the various comings and goings outside.

The balcony was large, had a table and four chairs along with a BBQ. it accommodated the four of us with ease, along with other artefacts (e.g. portable close line), so heaps of room.

We found the appartments really well located, very close to the beach (100m walk) and shops (40m walk). We hired a car for our 10 day stay, but really didn’t need it.

Couldn’t fault the apartment, rooms were very comfortable, bathrooms very clean. Linen was fresh and clean. Furniture was relatively new and clean as was cutlery, dishes, washing machine, drier etc.

Everything we needed was there, washer/dryer etc. as listed and easy to use. The kitchen was decked out with everything, right down to Tupperware for storage.

The in house internet was a little patchy, switching to my own provider was not much better (Aldi Mobile (operates on Telstra network)). This means streaming can be a little patchy at times!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay at Verandahs, Sue and Michelle were so welcoming and accommdating it really made for a very happy family holiday. They helped with all aspects of our stay including booking day trips and transfers along with small things like umbrellas and beach toys for our little girl, it made us feel at home.
The apartments themselves are clean, modern and comfortable, very quiet and calm and centrally located equal distance from the beach and main street. Pool was lots of fun.
Thanks again so much for having us!

Verandas apartment are well located in Pt Douglas with just a short walk to the main street, shops and restaurants.

The apartment was comfy and well equipped with all the kitchen utensils you would need if you wish to self cater.

Sue at the front desk was very helpful with providing information and assistance on activities to do in the area. Greg another facility manager, went above and beyond to clean the paint scrap of my rental car when I put it up against a pillar in the underground parking.

Verandahs is a really great play to stay. The location is absolutely ideal, a few minutes walk to the beach, very close to Macrossan Street so a short walk from all the action. Being able to access Verandahs from Owen Street as well (rear entrance) meant that trips to buy groceries at Coles was made easier as well. We had a beautiful apartment, lots of natural light, very well appointed and spotlessly clean. A big thank you to Sue for looking after us so well, it was a really lovely stay.

This is a great place to stay , ideally located a short walk from pretty well everything Port Douglas has to offer . Our pool view apartment was spacious , modern and had everything we needed .The balcony area was great . We used the pool daily and it was terrific - never experienced better heating …in a pool , made it very easy to get into the water . The free car- parking under the building was very convenience . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I am a regular at Verandahs and have been staying there for years now. - evidence of being a very satisfied customer. As soon as the Queensland border went down i immediately planned an escape to Port Douglas.

The Managers Sue and Greg as usual were warm and welcoming even after going through such challenging times. My regular room was ready and each time it looks as though it has been freshly painted and always immaculate. And it's the little things that always adds to a good trip. Noticing that i was on my way to the pool, Greg quickly turned the pool heater on just to add that extra bit of comfort for me.

My morning ritual of up with the sun and a two minute walk from Verandahs to the glorious beach, big blue sky, warm water and at most 20 people on a Four Mile Beach - just heaven.

Also within a very short walk is great coffee and meals at High Tide right on the beach. Verandahs' location is perfect. I cannot recommend it enough - this pandemic is challenging but a trip to Verandahs in Far North Queensland is the perfect place to find a bit of paradise. Go and give my regards to wonderful Sue and Greg!

Right from the minute we arrived the reception staff were so very helpful with restaurant information and a friendly greeting everytime we passed by, the apartment was clean and spacious with everything we needed. I wish we could have stayed longer as the positioning is perfect for walking everywhere, we didn't drive our car once while here. We will definitely be back for a return visit.

Just back from a 12 night stay at Sue and Greg's fantastic apartments. Sue upgraded us to a 2 bed, 2 bath top floor apartment which was fully equipped, spacious and very comfortable. It was a 2 minute walk to Macrossan Street with its bars, restaurants and shops and a few minutes walk to 4 Mile Beach. Although close to the Main Street it was very quiet. Sue was very helpful, making excellent suggestions for excursions. She also gave me a bottle of bubbly for my birthday which was a lovely personal touch.
The only reason I have taken a star off is because the long hot climb to our apartment after a day out was tiring and the Wifi was very poor. My two teenage children (whose lives revolve around social media) found the constant loss of service very frustrating and even when connected the wifi was very slow.
Apart from these two minor issues we had a great stay and would recommend these apartments.

Had a brilliant stay. Owners and staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Apartments are clean and spacious. Great location. Little convenient extras such as sauces and paper plates by the bbq, and foil, glad wrap and oil in the apartments.
Thanks for a fantastic, memorable stay!

We cannot recommend Verandahs highly enough. Ideally located close to restaurants, beach and main attractions, yet in a quiet street, our apartment was everything we could want. My wife commented that it was the best holiday apartment we have stayed in and we have travelled quite a lot. Every amenity you could want was available to be totally self sufficient or restaurants within a few minutes walk.
Clean, modern, practical and user friendly. Sue was an excellent host and assisted us with local knowledge for tourist attractions.
There is no lift so you may need to request a ground floor apartment if you are d inclined to tackle the stairs.
