Magical!! If your dear friend had a lovely home with amazing views in the Australian rainforest and invited you to stay....That is the MaiTai. Andre is a wonderful host, bested only by his two very well beaved Australian catte dogs Skye and Summer. The property is fantastic; beds are comfortable, rooms are spotless and the pool and views are to die for. The secret sauce is the personal touch of the host. Andre is full of great advice and tips about where to go and what to do not to mention a knd, smart and thoughful human. We hope to meet again. Highly recommend.

We stayed at Mai Tai for a week, it was a lovely relaxing stay. Andre and Anthony are so lovely, very accomodating and willing to provide advice on where to go/what to eat. Location is absolutely beautiful, worth the short drive to Mossman/Port Douglas. Added bonus are the absolutely gorgeous animals that reside here too! Thank you for a great stay, would recommend to anyone who’s considering it.

What a fabulous few days we have just had staying at Mai Tai! Glorious views from the pool, our room and the breakfast deck looking out towards the coral sea, farmland and the tropical forest. Our host Andre provided a highly organised but laid back atmosphere that was so relaxing. He had all the information we needed for excursions and the breakfast was delicious! The whole place was so calm and peaceful and of course the Balinese décor was wonderful. Terrific for bird watchers! I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

WOW, Just WOW, there is no words that can explain this place. pure privacy bliss heaven. Mai Tai is simply the best relaxation place we have ever stayed at. You do have options for tours and places to go around but we simply wanted to stay and enjoy our privacy in the resort. Their is no restaurant but the breakfast that is served up by Andre is by far better than you will get at any restaurant for breakfast. André is a amazing host, friendly and extremely accommodating to your needs and requests. Remember its about a 10-15 min drive from a Woolworths. so take some snacks and water etc for the room if you plan on staying in. The fact that it is a small boutique resort is so accommodating to spend that weekend away with your loved one or a close group of friends. We only stayed here for 2 nights and over a weekend for a quick getaway. in this time there is only 1 negative that I can write is that we had to leave and go back home. A highly recommended resort and would stay here time and time again. Thanks Andre for your hospitality and excellent resort. a true haven for anyone to want to stay at or own as a business. well done :-)

A truly remarkable property, Anthony and Andre have fashioned a serene boutique retreat in the heart of a Balinese-inspired rainforest setting. Situated just a brief 12-minute drive away from Port Douglas, this 6-room haven embodies tranquility and relaxation. The initial impression, accompanied by Andre's welcoming smile and the gentle rustling of leaves in the resort's canopy, sets the tone for a soothing experience that lingers throughout your stay. Meticulous attention to detail is evident in every facet of this place. As a seasoned traveler accustomed to luxury, I find the Mai Tai's unwavering dedication to perfection utterly satisfying. The rooms, have premium furnishings including sumptuous beds, pillows, and linens as well as a fully stocked mini-bar. Each morning's continental breakfast is a testament to tasteful presentation, featuring an array of vibrant tropical fruits, breads, and aromatic coffee. The melodious symphony of bush birds provides an enchanting backdrop as you relish the breathtaking vista stretching from the Valley to the ocean. When night falls, the celestial display overhead, including the awe-inspiring sight of the Milky Way, is simply unparalleled. Restful nights are assured, thanks to the serene ambiance of the soundproof rooms. Having visited Mai Tai for the second time, I can confidently affirm that this will not be my final visit.

My family and I spent 5 beautiful days at Mai Tai this week, and we could not have asked for a more relaxing and tranquil place to spend our time. Andre is the perfect host, who knows all of the best day trips and food spots around town so you really get the locals experience. He guided us through a perfect week of activities (including a Great Barrier Reef tour which was an absolute highlight for us!) and made sure we had a beautiful breakfast to start our day each morning. Staying here feels like a home away from home with all of the luxury of a Bali get away. The rooms and quiet, clean and we also loved that it was never too hot inside! We loved how secluded the resort is, while also still being so close to town. Thank you for taking such good care of us Andre, Sky and Summer!

Stayed here for 5 days and wish I could have stayed more. The rooms were great. Location is wonderful as you are so close to the port yet can get away and feel like you are living in a rain forest. I can not wait to come back again. Highly recommended

Mai Tai Resort is absolutely stunning, Andre and his sister's hospitality deserves 10 stars and we had the most wonderful holiday. We hired a car (essential) in Cairns and drove up to Port Douglas, stayed at Mai Tai for five nights and spent our days exploring the area. The resort is not really far from the town but far enough to be private and secluded. The views are amazing and the small number of guests means it is always quiet and peaceful. Andre provided delicious breakfasts and made sure our stay was perfect. Our room was comfortable, clean and well-serviced. The pool was also lovely, and we had it to ourselves every time we swam! And for dog lovers, there is a pair of very friendly Blue Heelers (Skye and Summer) that love pats and scratches. Also prior to the holiday I contacted Andre, he recommended and booked for us two fantastic day tours (Wavelength Reef Cruise and Daintree Safaris). I would absolutely stay at Mai Tai again and 100% recommend it.

We loved our time at Mai Tai. The view is incredible and waking up to the sounds of the rainforest is not to be missed. We saw a number of ‘must see’ birder highlights from our courtyard (olive backed sunbirds, silvereyes, fernwrens, drongos, various doves, a brush turkey, and several honeyeaters not to mention the migratory red-eye starlings nesting very noisily and beautifully up the driveway). While a little confused by a request for vegan options (I will be more specific on what this means next time) they tried very hard to help which was greatly appreciated. Andre was a delight - it was almost like staying with very conscientious friends (who happen to live in paradise) than a hotel. We also got to meet all four (4!) dogs who were a joy, and the very regal bengal kitty cat who staked claim to a bench seat near the pool each day. A particular pleasure for animal lovers. We were also surprised how convenient the location turned out to be. With a rental car reaching Port Douglas or venturing North further into the Daintree was no problem at all and the local township of Mossman was lovely and had most things we needed very close by.

Had a great time at the Mai tai. Although it was not in town we enjoyed the quiet and the view. Andre was an excellent host and helpful with planning our itinerary for the 4 days we were in the area Would highly recommend for couples seeking quiet only 15 minutes from town.
