Detailed Reviews
The pool area was great, the gardens were beautiful. The managers were quite helpful. Even though mostly clean the rooms were a little run down eg Couch had stains on them, microwave rusty, utensils looking worn, chips on bench, coffee table chipped and stained. The thing that disappointed us the most was supplies in the room. We were told that it there was a starter pack and that was normal in self- catering places. We disagree as we’ve stayed in many self - catering places and have had adequate supplies for our stay or provided free of charge. We ran out of supplies, toilet paper, soap, bin liner, one t- towel in a few days of our 10 day stay. We were told we had to buy them from the manager if we wanted more. Providing those little things free of charge would have made a big difference to our stay. It doesn’t cost a lot but it was the principle. As customer service it doesn’t take much to provide those small things especially if a person was spending a considerable time at their resort. Even though the resort was out of town, No dishwasher, and a bit run down, it was the fact of having to go and buy our own toilet paper, soap and having to ask for an extra bin liner etc was enough to not want to come back. When we had a towel and sheet room service after 5 days it would have cost so little to provide an updated t.towel, bin liner, toilet paper and soap. It’s that extra customer service that wants you to return.
It would have been helpful to have Instructions left on how to use the microwave and the hot plate properly as there was a particular way to turn them on. We had to go and ask. Also $6.00 for the cost of the washing machines was a little high.
It would have been nice to have screens on the door or be able to open the windows to have some fresh air without the worry of having flies etc in the room.

Rough around the edges, but ultimately did the job. The room and pool was clean, parking on site was adequate (and plenty of room out the back if needed). A few issues including hair dryer, hot water, one air con and toilet sistern needing attention, but these things did not affect our stay and the lady at reception was very receptive to our feedback to have them fixed - she was helpful and friendly. Like many hotels in Port Douglas it is located on the main road in, about a 15 minute easy walk into town or the Marina. While not five star, it was an enjoyable stay and we enjoyed the style of the Spanish-ish tiles and louvers.

A budget friendly motel only a 20 minute stroll from town. Would suit travellers on a short stay who aren’t too fussy about bedding, furnishings or sparkling surfaces. Short, uncomplicated stroll to the beach. Many leaflets available at Reception for sightseeing and things to do.

Apartment 31 ground level. Fully equipped. Fully equipped with the cheapest furniture known to man. Couch is an outdoor setting and good for at least 5 minutes of leisure. The mattress is brand new! Who knew it was possible to buy mattresses without padding. I have intimate knowledge of every spring. The kitchenette is like a ships galley. Very quaint. It is for show only as the fry pans are so cheap they are concave or bent and unusable. Picked up a lovely pan at the opp shop though. We will leave it here for you; although it may interfere with the shabby chic vibe and be removed. The groundskeeper is very diligent, out bright and early blowing the leaves off the garden bed next to your bed. He works well with the other tradies drilling into walls at 7:30am. Bring some candles for a romantic dinner on the lovely covered patio. You will need them as there no light and it is the only place to sit to eat. While you are at it bring blankets. There were none for the main bed and nobody would help because it was after 5. Had to get properly cranky, I wasn’t sleeping under a sheet in 10 degrees. On the plus side the pool is great and it close to the beach.

This is one of those joints where you don’t want to touch anything because it grosses you out, even the couch cushions feel gross. I went to the extreme of buying my own bedding, kettle and paper cups and plates, because the mouldy smell of the room and cupboards goes right through everything in there.
I’ve still got 9 nights left here for work and the dust and mould is wreaking havoc with my asthma.
To top it off, you only get a service once a week. Which means using the same towels after work ,for a whole week, paying $6 in their washing machines to wash them, or going to reception and paying $2 per towel. 🤯
Did I mention the bloke with his leaf blower in the morning, the terrible lighting and the paper thin walls? This place has a real prison feeling to it. I’d be absolutely gutted if I booked this place for my family. Can’t wait go get out of here.

I saw someone else review that…it’s a lottery.
Probably sums it up well. What we hadn’t realised was that all apartments are individually owned and all differ in standard, quality of furnishing etc. Some do look nice.
We stayed in apartment 19 and it really was an awful apartment. A small and not very light apartment - the ceiling fans not working, the Aircon not working for 3 days (unless we tripped the fuse and then it worked for 30 mins before stopping again), only 1 power socket working in the kitchen, the blinds covering the patio door that was held
Up with a hair clip, cheap kitchen utensils and cutlery, chipped walls and door frames, handles falling off the wardrobe doors.
We paid more for this place than the other 3 places we stayed in Queensland on our holiday and it was by far the worst.
Location is great though. Walking distance in to the village and to the beach. The pool is pretty nice - but could be cleaner.
All in all I wouldn’t stay here again and I couldn’t recommend.

The apartment overall has seen better days. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment. The main fit only a double and the second fit two singles - fine for our young kids but teenage siblings might find it a bit too cosy. The kitchen and bathroom are in need of renovation. They still work fine, but are past their prime. The DVD player was ancient.
We had a balcony where you could eat which was great at night, but not so good for breakfast when the morning sun made it uncomfortable. The pool is terrific however. Good size and plenty of places to sit. My kids had a blast. Staff was friendly and always willing to help.
I’d rate it an ok place to stay. The shortcomings are at least reflected in the price.

Thank you for your lovely review. Yes we are an older place as many are in the area but have had a face lift with our outside freshly painted and gardens getting redone at the moment. Yes a fabulous pool and heated in the winter which is always a bonus. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again.

I hate giving bad reviews BUT in this case I must. Nowhere on their website is the fact that they are renovating referred to (and have been for some time apparently) nor when we checked in were we informed that the unit we were allocated was in the middle of a renovation. The walls had been undercoated, not very professionally, the smoke alarm in the kitchen/sitting room was disconnected, two of the 3 fans didn't work, the stove wouldn't unlock for longer 5 seconds so no self-contained cooking was possible and all the walls were bare of any pictures with only the screws that presumably held any was all you could see. The lounge was so old and saggy and uncomfortable that getting in and out was a nightmare. The bedroom drawers were full of paint dust so our clothes were also covered in paint dust. The managers were friendly enough but the state of our unit was just passed over and never referred to. Don't believe the photos! Understandably the pandemic has made life harder for accommodation providers worldwide and they are trying to recoup their losses now but trying to pretend that all is fine is not a great look once you turn the key in the door. We booked some months ago so it wasn't like we booked at the last minute and that was all they had left. Overall, until they finish the badly needed renovations they should hold off using those units. I would rather people tell the truth about the state of my room rather than pretend that there is nothing wrong!!

Thank you for your review. The smoke alarm was faulty and beeping and we are waiting on it to be replaced. There are 2 others in the apartment that work. We didn't think you would appreciate constant beeping day in and day out. The fans are also getting replaced as there is an electrical issue. The aircons work perfectly so can be used instead of fans. As for the stove.....it is brand new and just installed and previous guests and current guests have not complained at all. We have also checked it and it works fine......operator error?? The apartment you were in also has a fully renovated bathroom which all we get is positive comments about. In fact one of our below top reviews was from that apartment....amazing how different people can have such different views.

The staff were helpful and gave great advice on local information. The apartment could have been cleaner ( the bathmat came away dirty after the first use). Our apartment was only serviced after four days which was a little bit long to wait. The pool was conveniently located and the BBQ area was great to cook our meat on. You need to use the fans in the rooms otherwise things will start to get musty pretty quickly.

+1
This property is disgusting. Our apartment was filthy upon check-in. There was dirt, dust and cobwebs everywhere. There was an awful damp smell. There was mould on the bowls, cooking utensils, walls, doors and floors. The carpet was wet and stained. Everything was grimy & we couldn't even sit on the couch.
When I spoke to the owner to get our room cleaned, he rudely told me it was not a priority for him. He clearly did not care about his clients or whether they were enjoying their holiday. Terrible customer service!
We packed up our things and left, before we all got sick from the mould. This property is a serious health risk & I hope the QLD EPA closes it down!

Hi. They are single beds but I have never had any one comment on this. We can make up the second bedroom into a queen size bed if requested.
Yes we do have a 2 bed apartment with wheel chair access to apartment and shower.
In the 2 bedroom apartments, 1 room has 2 single beds. But they are narrow, so not really suitable for anyone over 12 yrs of age.
