We booked this accommodation as part of our first family holiday in nearly 2 years and were disappointed from the moment we walked in. Although this is called a resort, it turns out our accommodation was self-service, meaning we didn't get daily cleaning, had no pool towels, had to clean our dishes when we left and take the rubbish out ourselves. These may have been ok if we had known in advance, but the cleanliness of the place was what made it so terrible. Some examples: - The place smelled damp, bordering on mouldy, all the time. - The dishes were dirty when we arrived, even the bottle opener! - The pool had a line of grim around the edge, above the water line. - While watching TV one night, I had a cockroach crawl over me. - I opened the window shutters in the children's bedroom (no glass), and the outside was covered in spiderwebs, so we couldn't leave them open to get fresh air.

Thank you for your review. Yes our apartments are self catering and this is stated on all forums and our website very clearly. Most places in Port Douglas are. You need to read what you are booking. No you don't get daily cleaning etc for this reason but you do get a service for a stay of 6 nights or more which is standard practice. It is also standard to ask people to remove their rubbish and clean up before they leave. If you want full servicing etc.you need to find a place that does that and pay a much higher rate. This is the tropics and there is a humid smell that if you don't live here often notice.....I did when I first moved here. There are also bugs......are rooms are sprayed for pests on a regular basis but sometimes you will find one..... again a normal part of visiting the tropics. If you had told us that the dishes were dirty we would have sent the cleaners back to rectify. We don't know unless you tell us. As for spiderwebs on the outside......again we could have fixed it but you didn't tell us and not something that the cleaners would have noticed from the inside of the room. Our pool is one of our main attractions and is always clean. Next time you stay some where read what you are actually booking and maybe pay top dollar to get all the services you want.

So nice to be able to get back to our happy place after such a long time. Our regular visit back to Port Douglas finally on. Love the Reef Club. Lovely pool and gardens and the 1 bedroom apartment is perfect for a couple with a huge balcony and all your needs. Clean and comfortable. Great staff too. We will be back.

Walked in and walked back out again. Absolutely filthy, sugar packets that had been eaten by roaches and cockroach poo everywhere. Spiders, dust and small fruit flies to boot! The urine smell the couch was letting off was the icing on the cake. Handed the keys in and the manager simply grunted no offer of help or reconciliation. Considering we are going through lockdowns during COVID-19 me and my family where truly disgusted.

Stayed at the Reef Club Resort for a one week holiday and had a fabulous time. The Management and Staff were friendly and helpful and knew all the best places to visit. Our room had everything you could possibly need, and only minutes away from the beach and shopping strip. It was a delight to relax by the beautiful pool. Will definitely be back.

Rough around the edges, but ultimately did the job. The room and pool was clean, parking on site was adequate (and plenty of room out the back if needed). A few issues including hair dryer, hot water, one air con and toilet sistern needing attention, but these things did not affect our stay and the lady at reception was very receptive to our feedback to have them fixed - she was helpful and friendly. Like many hotels in Port Douglas it is located on the main road in, about a 15 minute easy walk into town or the Marina. While not five star, it was an enjoyable stay and we enjoyed the style of the Spanish-ish tiles and louvers.
