The accommodation is in the perfect location, everything is walking distance to a wide choice of restaurants and little shops in the heart of Port Douglas with ample free underground car parking. However, In the week we stayed, we saw staff once at reception, so totally lacked that interaction between the guest and hotel. I am aware that there was other Mantra's nearby that had staff at reception if we needed them however still feel like this lets down the guests staying in this particular accommodation. The rooms needed some maintenance and a good clean, small pool area that had overgrown palm trees surrounding it so the pool was full of the little seeds. No key to either of our safes, this had to be requested by staff. Overall it was still a pleasant stay, however if we return i will be booking elsewhere.

We have an expectation of a certain standard from a Mantra Hotel, but were very disappointed with this property. We booked a 1 bed Spa Suite for 5 nights. The floor had not been swept properly and dust and dirt under the lounge, bed and furniture. The wooden bi-fold screens are dusty and falling apart. The stove and splashback were covered in grease. We didn't use the spa because we didn't trust it had been cleaned properly.
The property maintenance is poor and very few staff around. The Staff we saw were very pleasant but seemed overworked.
I think Mantra is trying to sell every room they can but reducing costs on staff and maintenance to recover from the lockdowns. This is a very short-sighted business plan.
The hotel is in a good location but the live music from the neighbouring pubs is very loud until 10.00 or 11.00pm.
Finally, they allow Smoking on the Balconies, so smoke goes into the balconies and rooms next door. Skinky.

I had a very positive experience staying at the Mantra. The room was clean and modern looking, the sheets were pristine and the aircon was already on and jazz was playing on the TV, which was a very nice touch coming in from a 35 degree day after traveling all day. My friend and I had to book extremely last minute due to a particularly awful accommodation experience Friday night, so we were delighted to see a reasonably cheap and very comfortable room available in Port Douglas. There's no elevator though and climbing 4 flights of stairs in the Port Douglas heat every day became a drag. But satisfied overall.

Great location, right on the main street, walking distance to most attractions, restaurants and shops
We booked for our wedding weekend, was a perfect room for such an occasion. It had a nice big balcony, a view, and character, not just a standard hotel room style.
No lift which could hinder some people. 2 flights of stairs for us, but no problems for us.
Noisy at night if doors to balcony left open - easily fixed by shutting them.
Would recommend this if you have a wedding to attend at St Marys by the Sea chapel or the Sugarwharf as it is just across the road, walking distance.

This is our fourth time to stay at the Mantra Inlet, although the gap between our last stay is about 8 years, and although the location is still excellent the delay has only served to highlight how little maintenance has been carried out. We assumed that the room's had been renovated given the images on line but were disappointed to find that ours was dated and grubby. We were in suite 111 and 112, the entrance door left the impression that it had been dusted with fingerprinting powder or scrubbed with something dirty, showers and sinks were all aged and grubby. We didn't go about the room checking for dirt or grime but the overall impression of them is that they need maintenance. For the entire duration of our 7 night stay there was no WIFI which was addressed by a note on the entry desk apologising but with no resolution, given that the phone service dosen't have the capacity to make hot spots practical this was an issue, exacerbated by the poor weather it meant we had difficulty entertaining our children and couldn't download anything for their flights home. Of concern for a couple of days was the entry door being blocked open by a rock with a note attached requesting the it not be closed - not very secure.

We may have rebooked with nostalgic memories of previous great stays and the main features of why we liked the Inlet are still there, it is in a great location and that's not changed, parking is great and was never an issue, we have been away for a few weeks and of all the places we stayed we were called 3 times by the inlet staff to check in with us, advise us in advance of how busy the area was and to be active in bookings and reservations and that was appreciated. The reception desk was mostly unmanned however on the couple of occasions that we needed anything from staff they were a phone call away and very prompt and diligent. The ammenities, however aged, are all functional and adequate both in the room and around the pool, and we did agree that the bathroom supplies were really nice quality and smelled great.

We decided we would not stay again should we return which has been a bit disappointing as we have had great stays over the years but the location and convenience just don't overcome the negatives of the place compared to what else is on offer in the area.

We stayed 9 nights in the King spa suite. The suite was terrific with everything we needed. The friendly night-life gets pretty loud at times, but being able to walk everywhere still makes this a great location. Staff were very friendly and eager to accommodate any simple request. Thoroughly enjoyable stay.

My wife & I enjoyed a wonderful four night stay in a one bedroom apartment at Mantra on the Inlet in Port Douglas from November 23-27, and we couldn't have been any happier with our experience.

General Manager Brad Case greeted us at reception, and gave us the good and welcome news our apartment was ready for occupancy (we arrived before Noon, so weren't expecting the apartment to be available until later in the day).

My wife & I chose Mantra on the Inlet because 1- it is affiliated with the Accor ALL frequent guest loyalty program; and 2- because of its location.

Accor truly does recognise, value, and reward loyalty, and my status as a Diamond member was certainly rewarded, with a wonderful assortment of welcome gifts waiting in the apartment for my wife & me (thanks a lot Brad and team!).

The apartment was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a nice and clean spa bath. Our private balcony on the 2nd (top) floor of the building gave us views across the park to the ocean beyond.

Mantra on the Inlet is very well located, with dozens of restaurants (try The Mexican; Wharfside Kitchen; Watergate; Sassi; Rattle and Hum (GREAT pizzas); Tin Shed (BEAUTIFUL prawns); N17 Burger Co., all of which are within comfortable and easy walking distance (even in the humidity!).

If you're looking for nice and comfortable accommodation in Port Douglas, and want a balcony with views, I highly recommend you stay at Mantra on the Inlet.

The room was extremely noisy as it was next door to two pubs, the Wifi was not working during the entire stay and mobile reception is poor in the hotel, therefore we were unable to connect to work and study as needed. The room had not been properly cleaned with a Cigarette butt left on deck.

We booked and paid for a two bedroom apartment, however it was a one bedroom with a second bed off the living room with a see through half door used as a partition. This provided no privacy or sound proofing.

Great location and central to town, however due to this it is very noisy and Manta should warn people of this prior to booking as there is not double glazing windows.

Mantra should also advise that there is no elevator and some rooms are three flights of stairs. A number of times we had to help elderly guests struggling with their luggage due to no staff on site and no elevator.

Dear t2cs, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Mantra on the Inlet - it is both valued and appreciated. I will investigate the room descriptions on the site again to ensure that we are providing the correct information, with all our 2 bedroom units being a dual key access room. The property being stairs only is advertised on the sites, along with the property being right next to the pubs. In your next visit to Port Douglas, perhaps our Mantra Heritage property is more suited to your expectations. Whilst still being central it is located away from the pubs and restaurants and is a quieter location. We hope that you would consider our other Mantra properties on any return to Port Douglas. Sincerely,

Took my family for 2 days to relax after a one week road trip to Cape York. Perfect location, rooms are amazing with a very nice view and close to everything in town. I really enjoyed it and can only recommend it. Rooms are clean, well air conditioned and all cooking utensils and appliances to enjoy cooking and a family dinner on the balcony. The hotel is very quiet, can’t hear te inconvenience of being in the city centre.
The pool is nice, with enough shade.
Only lacks a lift but there is a luggage lift so not so much an issue.

My husband and I stayed for six nights and loved the location as it was in the middle of restaurants and shops and close to a supermarket, pharmacy etc. Our apartment was a good size and had everything we needed for our stay. The only slight negative was the noise from a neighbouring hotel restaurant's extractor fan which ran continuously. We would stay again.
