Aidan was such an attentive host during check-in, giving us so many tips for the area which we really appreciated. The accommodation itself was basic which was in line with the pricing, for 2 nights with 4 people in the one room we were very aware of each other lol. There was laundry facilites on site, with a book exchange and I noticed you could also borrow DVDS from reception. There was a pool with spa for use. It is a drive into town so just be aware of that.

We love where we live, so cannot wait to share our local knowledge with visitors so that they can get the most out of their time here. We are about a 4 minute drive to the main street or a 20 minute walk. Which all lends to the peace and nature that surround you here. There are local shuttle buses that ferry people to the main bustling street or it is a 20 minute walk. We do really appreciate you taking the time to post your review on here, thank you. My sister in law and I spent a night here and loved the place. From checkin to checkout nothing was top much trouble. Touches like an esky of ice for the wine bottle in the pool area and provision of plastic glasses to use in the pool! Breakfast was supplied to our room and was a great option with cereal, yoghurt and toast. Rooms super clean and well appointed. Thanks so much Aiden and Alex for a wonderful stay with you!

My husband and I and teenage daughter had two nights here. On arrival Aidan happily gave us the run down on best sites to visit and because of that we made the most of our time up in the Cape. Our room and surrounds was absolutely spotless, beds extremely comfortable and can’t think of anything out of place. The pool area looked very inviting although we didn’t get time to swim. Location is very good and not too far for walking or short drive into the main shopping area and beach. Quiet location and there is a noise policy after 10pm which is great. We loved out time at the Lazy Lizard Motor Inn. Aidan was a wonderful help to us organising transport arrangements, assisting with dining recommendations and facilitating a memorable day trip snorkelling on the outer reefs in a fantastically value deal. He was considerate of our interests and ensured we had everything we required in our room. The room was equiped well for a week stay and we made the most of the electric cook top and fridge. The aircon was faultless and a reprieve from the muggy heat of the wet season. We would definitely come back to the Lazy Lizard!

Can't recommend lazy lizard enough. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. The room is perfect, excellent pool and great BBQ area you can use. Our little fridge decided not to work late one night (can happen anywhere) all it took was to pick up the phone to let them know and the guys instantly came down to replace it. Don't waste anytime on your phone looking what to do, just speak to the guys their knowledge of places to eat and see is unbelievable not just in Port Douglas but well beyond. We will defiantly be back and will be telling all our friends they need to visit port Douglas and to stay at this outstanding accommodation. If we could rate it higher we would.

After a number of Scuba Dives on the reef, heading straight back to 800mts on the mountain is not ideal
So we chose the Lazy Lizard for after our Dive Trip to Agincourt, and booked directly with the venue.
Spacious room, Very Clean and a comfortable overnight stay
Off the main Highway and quiet. Great value for money.
Some might want to pay a fairly hefty price to stay right in the CBD, BUT we say location was excellent because,
BONUS is the BEAM E Scooters parking station right outside. We lucked out and there were 2. (The BEAM crew should relocate more around that area) After spending the entire day out on the reef, saves a walk into town or having to take the car, then worrying about having a few drinks with dinner or a taxi etc; and they are actually fun way to get around.
We will definitely stay there again

The reviews I'd read for this place made me excited to visit, I don't think I've ever seen so many 5 star reviews, this meant my expectations were very high, and whilst I can't really find anything bad to say about it I just couldn't help but feel a little disappointed as I didn't find it as special as everyone else did. I thought it would be one of the best places we stayed yet it wasn't at all.
We did get some advice for our onward journey from the owner which was helpful and made use of the pool to cool off after our journey.
The rooms could benefit from some updating/modernising as they felt a little outdated but that didn't really affect our stay.

I've visited Port Douglas years ago, and found it can be expensive. This time I was on my own, and only need a room for one night. At $150 I found everything I needed, everything was clean. They have a dark washcloth in the bathroom so you don't need to discolor a white washer to remove makeup. They have lots of kitchen and dinig stuff because they assume you will use the nearby grocery store. The centre of Port Douglas with all the restaurants is less than 2 kilometres. I couldn't work out a way to stop the fan so when it got cold in the middle of the night I found a huge blanket in the closet that solved that problem. I plan to go back again and stay longer.

The Lazy Lizard Motel is a fabulous accommodation. The rooms are well equipped. The kitchenette has an electric getting pan that you can cook anything in. We do most of our own cooking and had no problem in this unit. The rooms are absolutely spotless, very comfortable and quiet. We used the pool almost everyday.
Alex and Aiden are the best hosts and Aiden is a wealth of knowledge if looking for things to do. We loved it so much we kept extending our stay. It felt like home after traveling for almost a year. They probably thought they would never get rid of us. Thanks guys!!

All of our rooms have a queen bed and a single bed with ample room for 3 people. They are 46sq metres with a kitchenette and ensuite.
We organise tours to the GBR and the Rainforest daily and they cam pick you up from here.
