Explore the Markets, the many and varied shops or have a coffee in one of Port's cosmopolitan Cafes, explore our natural attractions, take a trip to the Reef or self drive to Daintree National Park. A must see is Mossman Gorge with it's gorgeous 2.8Km walk around the national park, through some of the most spectacular rainforest (this is the start of the Daintree Rainforest). There is also the option of day trips to places such as Kuranda via the Train and Skyrail, the Atherton Tablelands, Cape Tribulation or even Cooktown. Alternatively, if you would like to catch up with news from home, we have FREE wireless access in our internet kiosk/hotspot area. Surrounded by natural wonders, Port Douglas offers a relaxing holiday destination with its spotless beaches and sparkling freshwater creeks. It is impossible to see and enjoy all that this area has to offer in a day. Our guests so often book in for 2 nights and end up staying for quite a few more just so they can experience all that the area has to offer. Experience all BIG4 Glengarry Holiday Park, Port Douglas and surrounds have to offer while enjoying the gorgeous weather of the tropics. We all need time out now and again whatever the weather, so discover the breathtaking northern tropics of Australia in our "GREEN SEASON" months at Port Douglas (December to March). The "GREEN SEASON" is often dramatic, wildly beautiful and eagerly awaited by our tropical rainforests. Without our annual rainfall, there would be no rainforest and, as many visitors discover, our 'Liquid Sunshine' doesn't usually interfere with diving, snorkeling or touring. The climate is seductive. Balmy days dissolve into tropical evenings. The tropics are a feast for the senses whether we have summer showers or warm sunshine during Winter. If all this is not enough, only 40 minutes drive to the south is Cairns with its shops, movie theatres, restaurants and beautiful Esplanade lagoon.

Very friendly, helpful staff on checking in and happily provided change for laundry. All expected facilities well maintained, including laundry, showers, toilets, kitchen area with BBQs and pizza oven. Plenty of showers/toilets for campsite of it's size. Beautifully landscaped! 5-10 minutes drive from Port Douglas. WiFi spotty at times but very minor issue in our opinion!

A very clean, calm, and friendly place to make a stop. We had an ensuite powered site, everything was clean and tidy, beautifully landscaped. The park is a great place for families, and for those just wanting a relaxing stop. The is no restaurant or pub, but living out of our motorhome, we had all that covered. Definately worth a visit.

A good park but wtf no wifi coverage in the park and vary weak telstra 4 g signal. This is very unusual today every park we have stayed in has strong wifi to every corner of the park and is unlimited usage and wide bandwidth

Response from Margy Brady, Owner at BIG4 Port Douglas Glengarry Holiday Park
Responded 4 Oct 2023
Hi , I am glad you liked our park & while we do have a couple of WIFI hotspots in the park I am sorry that at times' especially when town is very busy that our WIFI coverage & Telstra coverage is not as good as it used to be or as good as we would like it to be, apparently it is worst because most phones no longer have blue tick. We have advised Telstra & are hoping they can do something to improve our coverage. Luckly many of our customers take the opportunity to get away from devices as there are plenty of other things to do such as read one of our books from our book exchange, or spend time by the pool or socialise with our other travellers or explore the wonderful sites in the area.

Lovely lush environment for the family, the kids loved the pool area. The park staff were great and the coffee cart such a bonus! Our cabin was spacious and comfortable with lots of beds. 10 minutes from Port Douglas for a bit of peace and quiet!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Good and clean facilities. Downside was we were packed in like sardines! We only have a small camper van but couldn’t get onto or off our site until the neighbours moved their cars.

Response from Margy Brady, Owner at BIG4 Port Douglas Glengarry Holiday Park
Responded 11 Oct 2023
Thankyou for taking the time to write a review & I am glad you found our staff friendly & helpful. While we are actually the most spacious park in Port Douglas & have a lot of large sites with lots of gardens between our sites, July is our a very busiest time of year & every park in the area is full to compacity with Southerns escaping the cold weather. I would encourage visitors to come in April to early June or September to October in our shoulder season when the weather is a little warmer & great for swimming especially if you like a little more space & then you can have the pick of the large sites & it is much easier to get into your favourite restaurants & tours without the crowds. I personally love April & May.

Had a great time. Staff friendly. Amenities clean. Camp Kitchen has everything required. Kids were extremely well entertained by the pool, splash park and playground. Wildlife everywhere and washing machines were reasonably priced. The only area we found fault with here was the wifi. Both cell and 4G reception is incredibly patchy accross all areas of the park that we frequented and the park only supplied 200MG of free wifi for the entire stay regardless of how many nights you are there. 200MG was not even enough for me to deal with my emails for one day and we were there Monday-Friday. This added come inconvenience to our stay.

I stayed in one of the cabins for 12 nights. The cabin was fantastic. It was clean, well appointed and the bed was super comfortable. The park is set in beautifully maintained gardens and the staff were friendly, happy and always helpful. Highly recommended.

Am travelling around Australia for 12 weeks so looking for more affordable accommodation options and have stayed at a couple of caravan sites that have cabins / studios. So I booked in here on my trip up to northern Queensland. Check in was quite quick and easy although it was obvious that the place was busy - I found out later that three states were having school holidays so this is peak season - also it is not supposed to rain in winter in this area, as it does in summer. This is wrong - it rained heavily every day I was there. There were times it was not raining, and the rain made the air very humid so it was a good thing that the air-con in the cabin I was in was very effective. My cabin was one of a row of five, sitting under some shady trees. It was well equipped, with a hob and microwave as well as cooking equipment, kettle and toaster. There was also an iron and a hairdryer. No safe though. It all appeared quite clean and newly decorated with a comfortable sofa that I think may have turned into a sofa bed (I didn’t try). The shower was always hot when I tried it and the towels appeared quite new. Also on site were several gas BBQs and a camp kitchen with quite a few tables and chairs, and a pizza oven. There was also a nice looking swimming pool set into rock with water slides for children - staff told me it was heated but I did not try it as it was quite busy all the time. Although this is not in Port Douglas it is about 2 miles away with a large IGA supermarket on the way into town. I had a great stay and would recommend this to anyone looking for affordable accommodation for a base for touring the area.

Lovely caravan park just a short trip to the centre of Port Douglas. Very quiet and good for people of all ages. The sites are a little bit tight, but they have staff who can guide you on. Great pool for the kids.
