The "GREEN SEASON" is often dramatic, wildly beautiful and eagerly awaited by our tropical rainforests. Without our annual rainfall, there would be no rainforest and, as many visitors discover, our 'Liquid Sunshine' doesn't usually interfere with diving, snorkeling or touring. The climate is seductive. Balmy days dissolve into tropical evenings. The tropics are a feast for the senses whether we have summer showers or warm sunshine during Winter. If all this is not enough, only 40 minutes drive to the south is Cairns with its shops, movie theatres, restaurants and beautiful Esplanade lagoon.

The water park was great for the kids, although it probably needed a clean to get rid of all the leaves. But the kids enjoyed themselves (despite a cut foot on a rock).

The camping spaces are very small unfortunately, they really jam people in. We were uncomfortably close to our neighbours. Luckily they were friendly neighbours, if they were loud or obnoxious it would have been an unpleasant stay because everyone is so close to one another.

The laundry facilities were adequate. I used the washing machine and dryer and they were fine.

The one real disappointment was the toilet/ shower facilities. The toilet and shower is in a shared room, but there is no shower curtain around the shower, so the water goes all over the floor, so they are just constantly wet. Then people go in to use the toilet with dirty shoes and put mud on the floor. So when you go to use the toilet or shower, you have to mop the room first so you don't step on water and mud. A bit unpleasant. They just need to do something about the toilet shower room combo, it's pretty poorly thought out and therefore uncomfortable to use.

Other than that, the campgrounds were not too bad in terms of cleanliness. We had a grassy area to camp on which was good, and the gardens were relatively neat. They could probably up the cleaning a bit, and sort out the shower situation and the place would be top notch. They're almost there, just a bit more attention to detail to make it what you'd expect in Port Douglas.

Thank you for your feedback. We do try and please/cater for everyone, we have found that some people prefer the toilet/shower combination cubicles whilst others prefer the more conventional shower rooms. I am surprised you didn't use the others if that is your preference as they are located right next to the ones you were disappointed with. The waterpark is cleaned daily but unforunately due to the range of tropical trees we have to keep the park shady, we do find a large amount of leaves and tree castings fall to the ground. Finally we are happy that your children enjoyed the water park and we will continue to tell everyone not to climb on the rocks when they check in and sign the form.

We originally booked the biggest Cabin we could for family to travel up from Melbourne and the Gold Coast sadly this never happened due to Covid and when I called to alter booking the staff member had been inundated with cancellations, she'd had enough which I totally get but I have to say she was wonderful and altered our booking to help us out without getting upset once I explained our situation! 10/10 for this! It's an awesome park with great facilities and kids are extremely well catered for with a water park jumping bag and playground! My partners grandson had a ball as did we!!! The setting is great and gardens well kept! A short 10min drive will have you in Port Douglas so pretty good. I personally think Cabins are way too expensive everywhere but it is what it is ours had a washing machine which was welcomed after returning from The Tip. A lovely stay.

We stayed at the start of September for a end of year trip with the kids footy team. Plenty of room for the kids to play footy or cricket and the water park kept them busy for hours on end. Amenities were all well presented and clean and the camp kitchens very user friendly and spacious. We stayed in the family villas (one adult, 3 kids) and they were roomy, clean and very practical with everything needed already provided.
Overall our stay was awesome and will definitely be back again.

We unfortunately visited this after a rain deluge which meant our site was muddy and had a pool of water making our feet always muddy.

This also meant the showers were disgustingly dirty constantly as people didn’t bother to wipe up their muddy footprints. They really needed floor mats at the door to help people clean their shoes.

The bathrooms are odd in that they are all individual with a shower, toilet and sink all in one. Whilst they are new they feel like they need a good clean - this could be from the mud though.

The Wi-Fi can only be accessed at the pool or office and after 200mb you have to pay for extra data. This is really slack in this day and age.

The pool and sliders were great and keep the kids entertained - and the adults who could be seen going on the slides.

The camp kitchen is lovely and big and has everything you need.

This park isn’t near the beach so you will need to drive.

Hi Jo Thanks for the feedback & I am glad you enjoyed our modern Camp Kitchen, Pool & Playground area during your stay Sorry about the weather unfortunately during your stay you did experience some very heavy unseasonal rain which does cause all sorts of problems, vehicles going in & out churn up our normally beautiful lawn & create a lot of muddy wet grass which in turn gets walked into our normally beautiful cleaned ,modern family bathroom. Unfortunately not everyone takes the time to clean up after themselves & it only takes one messy person to do this after our cleaners have just finished cleaning them. We do have rubber mats at each major entrance to the amenities block but that only works if customers take care to wipe there feet & we do encourage those not showering to use the separate toilet or the more traditional style toilet/ showers area located right beside the Family bathrooms & in the adjacent building. While we would all love to have unlimitied WIFI through out the park we have been informed by professionals that at the present time at least the coverage in the area would not allow that & so we need to share the limited amount available by letting everyone have a little. Unfortunately WIFI coverage including NBN is not great in country NQ at present & no matter how much we try to improve things this is completely out of our control & even our normally reliable Telstra phone coverage struggles when the area is full of tourist. We try to make the best of a not so perfect situation by taking the opportunity to turn off devices & enjoy each other conversation or enjoy a good book or a walk down to the river & into the beautiful Mowbray Valley. No doubt it is probably much healthy for our body & perhaps our minds also to turn of all those modern devices & relax in nature with family & friends. I hope you enjoy your stay in the area.

4 nights. A tight sight which apparently they told us about booking but must have got lost in communication. But it was fine. Good facilities, great pool and heated. Pool slides were a great bonus for kids (I advise not taking them on as an adult to show off to your kids - ouch). Entertainment on some nights. Caravan storage if needed. Id probably give it 4.5 but we had a great time so I’m feeling ok to give 5.

We stayed on an ensuite powered site with a tent- loved the convenience of our own toilet/shower on site. Camp kitchen was great, saved us packing all our cooking gear. The waterpark and playground were outstanding, real hit with the kids! Only criticism is the lights along the road close to sites stay on all night and can shine right through the walls of a tent! Can’t wait to come back again!

Had a great time. Staff friendly. Amenities clean. Camp Kitchen has everything required. Kids were extremely well entertained by the pool, splash park and playground. Wildlife everywhere and washing machines were reasonably priced. The only area we found fault with here was the wifi. Both cell and 4G reception is incredibly patchy accross all areas of the park that we frequented and the park only supplied 200MG of free wifi for the entire stay regardless of how many nights you are there. 200MG was not even enough for me to deal with my emails for one day and we were there Monday-Friday. This added come inconvenience to our stay.

although beautiful, this park is best suit for older families, not ones with children.
The park was shut down by 8, with all visitors in bed, lights off, even over the weekend.
Overall cleanliness was poor too. The water park and slides being the worst.

On arrival we were greeting by friendly staff, then escorted to our ensuite site and guided in which was a big plus, the areas were well maintained and ablution blocks etc. clean and tidy. Although outside of Port Douglas it was well worth the travel and stay.

As a local, this is a great weekend escape with the kids. We bring out mountain bikes and enjoy the scenic easy ride around Mowbray/tresize road up to stoney creek swimming hole. Of course its not as warm as the pool back at the campgrounds. The waterpark is clean and enjoyable for all ages. The pool is smaller but heated with a waterslide. Parents sitting areas by the pool where you can enjoy watching your kids and mingling with other visitors/parents (easy for capable 5yr & 9yr olds) All the campsites are well maintained. The cabins looked cute as well as functional. Amenities are impeccably clean A++ Beautiful landscaped grounds and no mosquitos :) Check in was painless and staff friendly and unimposing. A lovely family stop over if your travelling north, locals going to port douglas markets on the sunday. Cant wait till kids are old enough to walk the bump track in surrounding mowbray national park!

Hi , Yes Apollo clients do get 10% discount unfortunately when you book on line it does not allow you to access this discount automatically. If you mention you are in an apollo van in the "comments" we can do the discount manually at the park.

Hi, While we officially close the office at 6pm this rarely happens in the busy season but more likely 6.30 to 7pm but in any case you do arrive late we live onsite so just use the courtesy phone outside the office door on arrival & we will come & check you in. Just remember it does get dark at around 6pm here so it is a good idea to try to arrive before then. If you think you are going to be really late after 9.pm it is a good idea to give us a call if possible.
