Detailed Reviews
The old grumpy lady @ the reception is still there! There is nothing in the "family room" for putting away clothes for 4 people so you live out of a suit case. The cleaning lady does not come every day. It depends... There is nothing to hang towels in the bathroom (quite unconfortable). The common kitchen is a disaster: no plates, no cutlery, no glasses, you need to buy them from the desk @high price or go into the city! The swimming pool is ok. Cocktails @the bar are without alcohol, even when they are supposed to be with it! Every time you ask for something it's "I don't know" or "We can't". NOT a good experience.

We stayed late December prior to our other accommodation in Palm Cove becoming available. It was ok. It was a small room, the bed was comfortable, the staff were helpful. The bathroom was so small and when I used the shower there was water absolutely everywhere. I would challenge the cleanliness but have no proof of it not being clean. The breakfast is 2 pieces of homebrand bread with disposable cutlery and a bowl cereal if you want it. There is a breakfast attendant allocating bread and reprimanding you if you allow your toast to burn or pop out of the toaster and onto the floor. It happened so often my boyfriend and I called it the "toast rainbow". You think it would be easier to buy a better toaster rather than stand there telling people off all morning haha!

Stayed one night early September. Priced at the low end for motel accommodation it did not shape up. No bedside lights and little control over lighting. Room had 1 x queen size, 1 x double-decker bunk and 1 x single. It is really backpacker accommodation with some self-contained rooms. Signs everywhere warning of camera surveillance and dire consequences for smoking (eg around open-air pool area) with promise of massive fines if caught. Other signs warning alcohol not allowed in rooms. Can do much better for the price and not feel like you are staying in a facility for juvenile delinquents.

Management are rude to the point of Toxic.
Best described as backpacker accommodation not resort.
Share toilet and shower
Free WiFi that doesn’t work
Towels appear to be over a decade old
Not maintained at all, I found cockroaches in the room 😳
I have stayed at many hotels all over the world, but I have never found one as bad as this.
Which includes a US$1.25 p/n
I stayed at in Vietnam 🇻🇳
No cleaning conducted over my 4 day stay.
Best thing I can say is
“Buyer Beware”
It’s embarrassing really

The only redeeming value in this property is it's pool deck, which is actually somewhat nice, complete with plenty of seating, a nice BBQ, and a good-sized pool.
Our ground-floor family room was absolutely gross. The ceiling had water damage and the doors had mold, which had been lightly painted over, but not actually remediated. The bathroom was disgusting, with no separate shower area to contain the water, so shower water went everywhere. The furnishings appeared to have been acquired second hand as they were all mis-matched. The window/wall air conditioner units, which seemed to be at least 25 years old based on their filthy and poor condition, were missing knobs and buttons. The hot water kettle in our room didn't work, and the kitchen area was dirty. Additionally, this property is located directly across the street from a large homeless shelter. I would NOT recommend staying here unless the rooms undergo full renovations and the management commits to better upkeep.

More like an old country hotel, rundown but workable. The only good thing to say about the room, it was clean. Shared amenities in the same state, very basic cracked and missing tiles, etc. in comparison we found another hotel for the same money, helpful staff, nice room, and private ensuite.

We've stayed a few times pre-Covid. It's close to the airport, cheap compared to other hotels, and is clean, comfortable and secure. TV, free WiFi, mini fridge, tea/coffee, microwave, bowls, cups, plates, cutlery. Friendly lady at reception!

My partner and I stayed in a double room with a shared bathroom. The shared bathroom was decently clean, but not pristine either. TV Fridge microwave and AC worked and sink was in room. Bed was really comfy. Cairns is very walkable, so it was like a 30 minute walk to downtown. Great crash pad, safe, and good pool communal space. I would stay again if I needed to crash with my own room.

Let's be clear it's a hostel not a resort.
Nothing wrong with that. It just has to be said.
It's a little dirty, there were cockroaches in the room around the fridge and a few things are missing.
For $50 you share bathroom and toilets.
The front desk lady was very friendly. In the end I slept well and I survived. Not recommended, you can do a lot better for only a little more money.

Wow what a fantastic place. It's not 5 star but they don't claim to be. Great location, friendly staff really clean, amazing guest kitchen and laundry, nice big rooms
I've been here for a week and will be sad to leave. Free carpark, pub easy walk...you can't go wrong
