We chose a standard apartment and we very happy with our choice. The apartment was on the 7th floor at the southern end of the building. The view is amazing. This apartment (42) had great cross ventilation with a constant breeze that made airconditioning unnecessary. The complex has two pools, a sauna and spa plus a tennis court and BBQ. All were spotless and well maintained.
You can't fault the location. It is easy to walk to anywhere in Cairns city. The Marina is a 5-10 minute flat walk. The Cairns Esplanade Lagoon is only a few minutes away. There are restaurants next door that are great value. In fact you can walk to all of the city sites and tour buses will pick you up at the door.
Troy and Elisabeth had prepared the apartment beautifully. It was spotless and looked wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble and you can make bookings through their website. Troy immediately fixed a small issue while we were out.
This is a secure building with a fob needed for access to the building, lift and garage. Enough of the essentials are provided to get you through a few days, there is an IGA around the corner but a much better Woolworths is three blocks away.

Fabulous was the youngest child's reaction to our apartment and I cannot disagree.
The apartment was very spacious and very well stocked. The beds were super comfy. The kids room had 3 beds and still had space for them to mess it up with towels and clothes.
The kitchen has everything you need for self catering inc a dishwasher with comp wash tablets.
There's a washing machine, with comp wash liquid and a tumble dryer
It was great to have a large dining table and the option of eating out on the balcony too
The views from the balcony were of the esplanade and the marina. The kids enjoyed the pools and tennis court but we didn't use the spa or sauna.
The central location meant we could walk to the shopping centre and local attractions of the aquarium, dome, marina and esplanade.
Bonus was foxtel
The management couple are charming and very knowledgeable about the local area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning in the future.

We stayed for a week, 2 families of 4. The location is brilliant , a short walk to pool on the esplanade, eating, boat trips. Yes the building is older but all good ,2 small pools, nice gardens. Carpark a bit squishy but manageable. We had 2 units on 12 th floor, stunning views. Well equipped with linen, kitchen ware, washing machine and dryer. Super clean on arrival, great air con, great balconies.
Highly recommended!!

We stayed in Cairns for 7 nights on the last leg of our East Coast tour. We booked our two bedroom deluxe apartment through Booking.com. I am surprised this property gets a 4.5 whilst the location is great for the esplanade and restaurants/bars are on your doorstep it really does need some TLC. I think this property was nice in its day and pictures are probably quite old.

The building
Feels like a 1980 hotel when you walk into the lobby, dark wood and pattern marble flooring. The corridors are open brick and grey pattern carpet quite gloomy. Two small kidney shaped outdoor pools on front of building with two sun-beds at each pool. The Sauna is located near one pool and needs to be pre-timed at least 30 minutes before use to heat it.
The garden is well maintained and there is a tennis court at side of building.

Our apartment No.29, 4th Floor
The reason I am publishing the number is because it seemed to us that some are privately owned so experience could be different.
Our apartment was a huge two bedroom with big-folding doors and great views of esplanade. We had open plan kitchen/dinner and lounge. Unfortunately no “smart “ TV, one dinning chair broken and wicker chair which collapsed underneath me when I sat on it. Other furniture on balcony was fine. The main bedroom had on-suite but there was no door, and no privacy! The main bathroom was large with spa bath but did not seem to work & shower was over the bath. The laundry room had everything you needed , only complaint was ironing board required a new cover as you could feel metal when ironing clothes. Areas of apartment needed better cleaning and pillows on beds were cheap (this is a big thing for me), had neck ache. The curtains in both bedrooms had stains. We hired a car and each apartment has its own space in underground car park adjacent to property which was great.

Such a shame as I think with some attention the apartment could be great!!

Location and views from the verandah was the only positive aspect of the property.

We stayed at Unit 29 on the 4th floor.

Disliked · 1. The guest room a/c was faulty and no attempts were made to repair in spite of reporting immediately on arrival of our 7 nights stay. 2 guests had to sleep overnight in the living room sofas to avoid hot and sticky guest room.
2. The accommodation lacks repair, upkeep and maintenance. The bedroom windows have no sills and there is a major gaping hole between the wall and window frame making it a major health and safety hazard for the guests. It is an awkward lack of attention to basic standards of the property.
3. No vacuum cleaner or proper clean brush to clean up the property at departure, though leaving conditions warrant a tidy and clean place. The supplied brush sheds more dirt than it sweeps.A likely $100 fee is leviable in case the property is left unclean and tidy!
4. Lack of basic supplies like garbage bag, garbage bins and cleaning supplies.
5. Power tripped once for no reason.
6.The second bathroom shower tap handle comes off and drops to the cubicle floor. You are lucky not to get it on your feet!!
7. Lack of communication from the hosts. Phones and messages remain unanswered.
8. Promised discount for non-functional a/c in bedroom never materialised.

Unfortunately this property misses the mark, we booked a premium apartment and it definitely does not match the photos shown online. The property was lacking maintenance, furniture was mismatched and dirty. Our sheets were stained it was very unpleasant. The shower screen was broken (host knew when I spoke to them) the power points were taped up, the exhausts were filthy. I messaged the hosts on the mobile number provided x3 times on our first 2 days of our stay and it was left unanswered. I then left a voicemail for them and they got back to me claiming they didn’t receive my messages, strange because they had messaged me from the number?

They then moved our apartment after I asked to be moved or reimbursed our next apartment was much better but i believe they had just put us in any apartment and we were charged the premium price. We visit cairns annually and won’t be returning after this experience. It’s such a shame with some general maintenance, customer service and a good clean this property could be amazing. They really need to have the price reflecting what they are selling the properties surrounding are much newer and are the same price.

These units are very central to The Esplanade, restaurants, aquarium and jetty tours with beautiful views. Elizabeth is a prompt, communicative and helpful manager. Unit 42 however, despite being premium, had dated bathrooms, a dreadful in window air conditioner that kept us awake clunking with the humidity, ( even after switched off) , clogged aircon filters, and stains on lounge, tiles and walls. The water damage on balcony and hallway are a somewhat concerning body corporate issue. The central location also exposes you to the usual daily morning garbage collection and construction/ traffic noise .

When we arrived at our booked apartment, we could immediately see that it was very old and in need of a facelift. What we didn't like was that it was not very clean, especially behind the television and curtains, so much dust. Yuk!
We had a long drive to get to Cairns and were a little tired and the last thing we needed was to have to wash all the crockery in the cupboards, but that is what we had to do as there were little ants everywhere. Even when I started cooing dinner they were running along the backsplash and the walls. Then we noticed insect spray in the cupboard so used that. Over our five nights stay we had to buy more insect spray as the ants just kept coming back.
Also, the air-conditioning unit in the second bedroom was all rusted, and the room also uninviting. Glad we didn't have anyone else staying with us.
Never have we stayed at an accommodation that was not cleaned very well. The owner needs to do repairs and give the place a fresh coat of paint, and make sure the cleaners do their job before guest check in. We would not recommend this apartment to anyone.

I stayed in a 2 bedroom with 2 bathrooms premium apartment. The open plan kitchen, dining and living area certainly enhances the spaciousness of the apartment. The balcony was a great place to enjoy my morning coffee with views of the water and mountains.
Location was perfect, right on the esplanade; next to the RSL, cafes, restaurants and on a quiet street.
Free wi-fi and free Foxtel and a car space was provided.
The furniture is outdated (tired looking and old) although clean and functional.

It was a good stay overall. If you have a car, before checking out, suggest to use the apartment key to open the roller doors (out of the car park) before returning the keys.
That was a problem I didn't anticipate as I had returned my keys prior to exiting the car park. Luckily the cleaner was around in the car park and we exited with his help.

I stayed here for 3 nights (apartment 42) and was so impressed. Such a beautiful and comfortable apartment. Great location restaurants and food shopping, brilliant views from the balcony over the water and also views out the back windows towards the mountains - so sunrises & sunsets. Great pool. Would definitely stay there again.
