Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I only stayed one night, and to be honest I wish I could have stayed longer. I was upgraded to a lovely room overlooking the ocean. Bed was comfy and the shower pressure was great. Tv didn't work very well, but wifi was excellent. I had breakfast included in my rate and the food was very good. It's not a budget hotel, but the location, views and amenities are great. I would love to stay again and would recommend for anyone wanting a nice posh hotel stay.

Room was clean and bed comfortable. We had an ocean view room and while the view is very nice, the room is boxy, utilitarian and dated. Common areas need updating, too. Staff is accomodating, if not particularly friendly. Food in the cafe is ok and hotel is about a half-mile away from the areas with restaurants and shops. Stayed here 2 nights, which was fine.

Lovely service at reception but rooms very dated and corridors stink. I was fooled given the Rydges name and have stayed in wonderful hotels by this brand before. This hotel is not one of them. If you have a family, do yourself a favour and pay an extra 50 a night for another hotel. And don’t be tempted by the Jetstar or quantas deals with flight and hotel.

The children loved the pools. The fruit salad from reception was excellent. Great that the tennis court & equipment was free. No cash accepted and then a surcharge on your card! Maintenance looked way behind on some outdoor areas and gardens. Bellini cocktail wasn't cold - had to add ice!

Even though the hotel is rated as 4 star we felt it didn’t live up to that grade of hotel. In general the staff were as helpful as possible but during our stay we found the place was very tired looking. Only one lift out of three was working during a busy teachers conference. The room was like an ice box even though we had turned the air con off and there was no AC control on it. We mentioned how cold it was at reception and they blamed the cold on the air con in the corridor and gave us towels to block the air from coming under the door. There was black mould around the bath and a damp smell in the wardrobe so we couldn’t hang our clothes up. The outside corridor area all the skirting boards were either missing or hanging off. When we were due go leave as our flight was in the evening we asked if there was a curtesy room to get changed and have a shower. We were told that they don’t have one and to use the general toilet to get changed. There are no showers in there or around the pool area. The mens toilet on the ground floor was disgusting and the one toilet cubicle was out of order. So nowhere private to get changed. Although we would be leaving the hotel at 4pm all they could offer was an extension to the room if we paid for another nights stay!! I would give this hotel a miss in future because for the money we paid we could have had a better stay somewhere else.

The room was tidy and view to mountains great. Good location approx 10 mins walking distance to city. Pool great and friendly reception staff. Our room flooded our last night and the floor was soaking with water. We got moved to a new room however after that we had no check up if we were OK or any compensations (taxi, food voucher) nothing. Bit disappointing considering it was a major safety issue.

I stayed at this hotel for a business meeting. The staff at this hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was good, and the service was excellent. My room was also very neat and clean each evening when I returned. The lady in the gift shop was also very friendly and helpful. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay.

A big thank you to the staff Rydges who went out of their way to make our week' holiday so good. We dined a few times and found our meals much better than expected. The rack of lamb was a favourite too and they do a great pizza as well! breakfast was always good we will back in 2024, Highly recommended.
