Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort comes highly recommended for its exceptional service, with staff members often receiving accolades for their friendliness and helpfulness. While the rooms are generally found to be clean and comfortable, a few guests have mentioned they could benefit from updates. The prime location is a highlight for visitors, offering easy access to local attractions. The resort's amenities, including the pool and swim-up bar, add to the relaxation experience, although some suggest they could use a bit of sprucing up. Despite some concerns over value and noise, the lively atmosphere and themed events are a draw for many.

The quality of hotel and food was awesome. We really thought Mel & Luke were excellent staff members and everyone else could learn from their communication and urgency. Nachos by the pool were delicious like the cocktails! Thank you very much

WE had booked the hotel for a 5 night stay, flying in from Sydney late afternoon.
Reception staff were helpful, courteous which made our stay.

The room overlooked the road, but that didn't bother us as we would be out all day and not come back to the evening.
Room was spacious, bathroom had all the facilities, toiletries and towels were big. cleaners came in every day to tidy room, give new bath towels, bedding etc. There was a ironing board, iron and decent hairdryer and safe in the room. As we were travelling around Australia the hotel was good in they had a laundry area which was situated in the basement by the car park. to wash or use the dryer was 4 Australian dollars each.

Breakfast was very good, good selection fo breakfast, had omelette one day but it didn't seem to be cooked in the middle as they seem to put it in a grill like oven, it catered for people with food allergies and I did find they did gluten free bread which was good although it would have been nice to have something other then just bread. In Australia there was never any problem with getting gluten free and I wasn't;t charged extra unlike the UK.

We went out for evening meals as there was plenty of restaurants to try, we came back every evening for a couple of drinks before bed time and to sit around the pool etc.

The pool was very good with a little beach area for children. However the sun beds were hard and uncomfortable - need some sort of cushions. We didn't use it much as we were out most day's.

We booked trips through the hotel, down at reception there is a desk in the far corner and the person there was very helpful in giving us information on where to go, prices etc.

The hotel is situated close to the shops, buses and only a 10 to 15 min stroll to pick up the boat if you are going to the barrier reef for diving and snorkelling.

By the 4th day things started to go wrong when things started to shut down regarding the coronavirus, staff just carried on normally keeping things clean and implementing new guidance towards sanitation etc although they must have been worried whether they will have jobs in the coming weeks.

Would we go back - YES, lovely hotel, staff and Cairns is beautiful.

After a lot of research, we decided to go with a 5 night Luxury Escapes deal for our trip to Cairns. We have a three year old, so key factors include a good pool and a great location.

This resort exceeded our expectations. From walking into the lobby with a great check in experience, to one of the staff helping me wheel out the bags on our last day (without me asking for assistance), it really was an amazing five days.

Being only one block back from the waterfront, you’re totally surrounded by the buzz of Cairns. There are restaurants all around, ice creameries, shops, cafes, bike hire, grocery stores, to name a few. We also had breakfast included in the deal and then chose to have a few meals there too, all of a great standard. My husband loved the swim up bar, and I couldn’t remove my daughter from the pool each evening. The resort is so well designed so even though location wise you’re in the thick of it, when you’re floating in the pool surrounded by palm trees you’re oblivious as to where you are. It is so peaceful and relaxing.

Every staff member we came across was exceptional (and hubby and I come from a hospitality background). All went above and beyond. The rooms were so spacious and clean, and even being in a room at the back of the building, the view over the mountains were so lovely.

Will definitely be back 👌🏼

We have stayed here several times over the last twenty years and this hotel still maintains a friendly warm and relaxed environment with clean and functional rooms with excellent fittings.
From checking in , every aspect was fine, except for the torrential rain, but we can’t blame the hotel for that.
If I were to make any criticism, and this applies across the Accor group hotels we stayed in in Cairns, it would be the A la carte breakfast replacing the buffet breakfast due to Covid. Most hotels in NSW have recommenced buffet dining with strict rules on sanitising. The one choice meal, and beverage seems more based on cost saving rather than due to Covid. If I chose bacon and eggs, I couldn’t obtain extra toast to have jam on, without having to pay extra. This wouldn’t be the case with a buffet. An additional coffee, also extra payment. Seems very penny pinching.
Otherwise the hotel is great. We will be back.

Mark, Thank you for your repeat business and appreciate you taking the time to review our hotel. We have had our fair share of rain in the past few weeks however looks amazing at the moment. For the foreseeable future we will be doing al a carte / cafe style breakfast. We have ensured to remove all advertising about the buffet, will look to have updated with cafe style menu. Appreciate your comments around the coffee and juice options, we are reviewing our offerings. It is great to hear you will be back and look forward to seeing you again at Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort. We stayed seven nights in a Deluxe Poolview Room. We were on the fourth floor and were very happy with our room. With the sliding door open, it was great to hear the buzz of people enjoying themselves around the pool area and the bars. On closing the door, the noise was cut out and our room was very quiet. The hotel is central to everything in the city centre and we were able to walk everywhere. Access to restaurants, tours, shops. If you wish dine in, the restaurant has good meals with a $19 special every night (the steaks were fantastic). It is a great resort for all, couples, families, groups. The pool is very enjoyable with the pool bar and food available (could do with some mats on the sun lounges). Overall, great staff, great stay and would recommend to anyone.

We stayed here from the 14th-19th December 2020 in their recently renovated Deluxe King rooms with a poolside view. The rooms were very generous in size and the bed comfortable as.... the bathrooms fully renovated and stylish. The rooms were cleaned every day. The only small thing that bothered us there was they do have a vent above the shower but no switch for suction so we found the toilet smells lingered. The hotel was fantastic we loved the pool which was large and had plenty of seating and cover. The decor was great and tropical looking. We had the breakfast included. Due to covid you could not eat smorgasbord style so you ordered off a menu. We had big breakfast every day and our coffee and it didn’t disappoint. Anything more you had to pay extra which was a little disappointing and we have to say we did miss eating fresh fruit so we went to Woolworths a 10 min walk from the hotel and satisfied that hunger. On our last night we ate at the Moku restaurant belonging to the hotel and I ordered baby barramundi. Omg i have never eaten fresh fish cooked like this. It was superb. All the food at the hotel was tasty and delicious and generous enough. The staff were fabulous and did a great job. Due to covid19 some experienced staff had left and they did have some new staff a little inexperienced but they tried their best and did a good job. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience and we would highly recommend staying there to anyone and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. Was a great short and relaxing escape topped off with two fabulous full day tours. The tour to the waterfalls Millaa Millaa and Josephine were definitely a bucket list experience. Absolutely fantastic. Cairns didn’t disappoint

Location is good however, the ads says that the hotel has cable/satellite TV - do not believe them, it doesn't. False advertising. Also, they let the public into pool area, so instead of booking a nice resort holiday, you are in a public pool, not exclusive at all. Bathrooms are tiny, have to close the door if you want to use the bathroom sink. Would be nice to have a small lounge to sit on to watch TV, there was empty space in room 419 which looked very strange, like something was missing. Restaurant was pretty good except if you sat outside for breakfast, no-one served us, we had to go inside and find someone, we were forgotten.

Loved our few days here . We had a pool facing room on a high floor, which i would recommend .only problem was heavy smokers next door and every time i opened the door the smoke would blow back in . The rooms are comfortable although bathrooms are very small , dont try to stand two people in at the same time. Good lifts as there are some on both sides of hotel that i could see . This time our lift opened out into the restaurant . Very abrupt lady staffer works there although the other younger staff are all friendly and professional whilst able to smile. We had our breakfast and dinner meals there . Last time i thought the meals were much better than this time , the steak was very tough and the whole fried fish was not nice either . Maybe it was just bad luck on the night . The chef did give us a free dessert to compensate the chewy steak so that was a nice gesture . I will try again next time as i have had very good steaks there previously. Reception staff are friendly as are most of the bar staff .The pool is fabulous and the temperature was so good stayed in for hours one day .We liked our stay and will be back for sure

Welcomed as soon as we arrived✔️complete explanation on entire accommodation✔️Straight to our rooms, immaculately clean✔️Starving after flight so off to find a cafe which are plentiful due to the Novotel being right in town although you would think you were out of town it’s so quiet.✔️Close to shops, restaurants, cafes, casino, Esplanade, markets, pool, you name it. ✔️Team members are all very accomodating and friendly. ✔️The pool is lovely and there are pool side lounges and umbrellas if you are lucky enough to get one before all the backpackers take them. ✖️The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the backpackers took over the pool for quite a bit of the day. ✖️As a paying customer I would have liked to spend most of my time at the pool but without an umbrella it was just too hot. When we asked about the backpackers we were told they were welcome at the pool if they purchased food and drinks. ✔️They did purchase food and drinks, from the supermarket and bottleshop before they came. ✖️✖️✖️The pool situation was really disappointing and became more so when covid19 became bad and newly arrived backpackers 😷quickly got onto the fact there was a really nice pool they could use free of charge✖️✖️✖️✖️✖️In saying all that, I will definitely be back to the Novotel when it’s safe to travel again, if they will have us back after this review😬

My partner and I booked a sporadic trip and are so glad we chose Novotel Cairns Oasis! There was not 1 thing to complain about. All of the staff from reception to housekeeping were amazing, professional and always eager to help - I don’t think we walked past any employees without them at-least saying “Hello” or asking how our stay was going.

We mainly ate in the resort because the food was unreal and always came so quick. (And you can order from your phone to anywhere in the resort!)
It was also so nice waking up everyday knowing the delicious buffet breakfast was waiting downstairs, complete with a self serve Bloody Mary station which we thought was pretty awesome. (Pre pay for the buffet, it’s worth it!)

The cocktails, bar, swim up bar and bar staff were also 5 star. Your drinks will come quickly and they will be happy to bring them to you. A great variety on the bar menu and the BEST espresso martini’s we have ever had. My partner doesn’t usually drink them but he always had one in his hand for this stay. There are 2 happy hours, 1hr at the swim up/pool bar and 1hr at the main bar from 4pm-6pm.

We spent quite a bit of time around the pool despite the weather and being school holidays found there was plenty of room for kiddies down the beach end and adults down the other. (We don’t have children ourselves but enjoyed watching Deb run the activities for VIK (Very important kids).

We stayed in a deluxe king room with the pool view and the bed and linen was to die for, so thick and comfy. We own a cleaning company and had no complaints about the cleanliness (Doesn’t happen often) and our services were carried out daily like clockwork. The wonderful HK staff even changed our towels one day when we forgot to leave them on the floor which to us seemed like personal service and was a nice surprise.
The resort itself is also very well maintained.

The location is absolutely perfect, 8mins from the airport and central to everything you may need (Woolworths, BWS, night markets, esplanade, bars etc) the Aquarium is next door and definitely worth a look, it was better than we expected.
We were worried we would regret not booking something on the esplanade but after seeing the hotels/resorts and the hustle and bustle we knew we made the right choice and we were only 1 block back.

From such a great experience upon checkout we ended up booking another room for August and cannot wait to get back!

Thank you Novotel Cairns Oasis, you were the pillar of a memorable trip and we can’t thank you enough for such a wonderful getaway. See you soon!
