Do you ever find a setting, an untouched piece of earth, a patch of green so special you don’t want to share it with anyone. Well as Hotel’s go, you just found it in your next visit to the Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort. After a few wonderful stays over the years, I feel it’s time to let the Novotel Cat our of the Cairns Bag, even though I am sure this will drive up demand. With a family of two young kids, I truly love the Novotel and always stay here with my family when in Cairns. Though there are more prestigious hotels which are probably nicer in terms of rooms and restaurants, for us it’s all about the kids. There really is no better place in Cairns to for the kids, if it’s the School Holidays this is the place to come, run by the institution that is Debbie, she’ll keep your kids entertained in a safe and awesome environment (no extra cost). During the hols there are activities everyday around 10:30, 2:30, 4:30 and 6pm. Some of the activities allow for adult participation and is encouraged, or you can keep a close eye on them as you sip a Pina Colada or your favourite cocktail which the Novotel team always make to perfection from the pool bar or get it delivered to your deck chair. Focusing on the pool area, one end has a beach so the little ones have a nice incline before reaching the 1.2m limit. If your kids aren’t strong swimmers they can be kept nice and close and safe. Especially the toddlers with the sand nice and soft. All whilst you can lounge back in the numerous deck chairs and table sitting area nearby, or jump in and have a swim with them as you order another cocktail from the pool bar including pool seating. Definitely do the Kuranda Rail, Aquarium next door, but the great thing about the Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort you will be more than happy to spend lazy days near the pool and really unwind. Rooms are clean and well kept, I would suggest they are on the smallish side but your not going to be spending much time in them given the Hotel and Cairns has so much to offer. Other complaint was the water pressure in the shower was rather weak. Staff from reception, dining and throughout the hotel are warm and friendly. With Max at reception an absolute standout, Max was as happy as I felt every morning and every day of our stay, it’s nice to be able to build a repour with a staff member when you are one of hundreds of guests and only staying a week. I highly recommend the Hotel for lunch or Diner with all the dishes having a very tropical and unique Cairns flavour to them. We had 2 lunches and 2 diners at the hotel over the week we stayed and we never disappointed. But given the great location, you will want to go for a leisurely stroll and try the many restaurants nearby. The 10-15min walk to the Marina is well worth it for the delicious and affordable seafood. On the topic of location, the Novotel is literally next door to the Aquarium and 3mins walk to the main bus interchange. Breakfast can get really busy and depending on times of the morning you may have to wait to be seated, or to use the toaster, but nothing that’s out of the ordinary. Great selection and variety of food, though I do feel the bacon spoils it (yuck and I love Bacon). You often you have to wait for the fruit to be filled up, but this is more of a testament to how good the fruit is, rather than then anything else. Sadly the only thing I would not recommend is making a tour booking through the tour desk found in the lobby, absolute nightmare and just went from bad to worse. Do it online yourself, which is easy given the decent wifi in the Hotel, but the tour desk is separate and you can’t charge the room anyway. I probably wouldn’t stay here as a couple or business traveller. But with a family with young kids, it’s really the only place to stay in Cairns.…
What a fantastic place, a real Oasis in the centre of Cairns. On arrival check-in staff very helpful and efficient.Room looks recently refurbished with everything you need, Amazing Breakfast Buffet with all that you could want. An all day&night menu from the MokuBar full of Pacific Island inspired meals. A great selection of beers wines & cocktails to relax by the massive pool with swim up bar, one area for the kids with a sandy beach, enough room for kids at one end and the other for adults to relax. The week we were there, it went from a quiet resort to a busy almost full resort, but it was still large enough to relax and the whole time staff were consistent with their great service and friendliness. I will single out one staff member, Blair in F&B, always with a smile and outstanding in her role. Thank you to all the Staff, from Front of House to Back of House, standards they set they must be lead by a very strong Management team. Well Done all…
Great stay, friendly staff and clean hotel. Really enjoyed the outdoor bars and food especially the Buddha bowl and the tuna coconut bowl. The toiletries were lovely too. Also, so grateful to have the onsite self serve laundry facilities, very handy after humid and wet weather! Only slightly negative we would say was that the pool was a little too cold.
The definition of service, is staying at the Novotel in cairns. Staff are friendly, helpful and obviously enjoy their jobs. We had to change my parents room as my dad couldn't get into the bath which had the o erhead shower in it. And the staff were more than happy to change rooms
This was a return visit for us and, just as on previous stays, we were not disappointed. Shelly and the team run a professional and friendly service in which you feel welcomed and valued as a guest. We stayed for a week and were happy with the service and attention to detail. Susana, Deb, Gesela, Marisa, to name but a few staff members who really stood out during our stay. Maxii in particular was fantastic in their care and follow up when our daughter had been unwell and this really makes a difference to the guest experience. It is never long enough and we cannot wait to return :)
My partner and I booked a sporadic trip and are so glad we chose Novotel Cairns Oasis! There was not 1 thing to complain about. All of the staff from reception to housekeeping were amazing, professional and always eager to help - I don’t think we walked past any employees without them at-least saying “Hello” or asking how our stay was going. We mainly ate in the resort because the food was unreal and always came so quick. (And you can order from your phone to anywhere in the resort!) It was also so nice waking up everyday knowing the delicious buffet breakfast was waiting downstairs, complete with a self serve Bloody Mary station which we thought was pretty awesome. (Pre pay for the buffet, it’s worth it!) The cocktails, bar, swim up bar and bar staff were also 5 star. Your drinks will come quickly and they will be happy to bring them to you. A great variety on the bar menu and the BEST espresso martini’s we have ever had. My partner doesn’t usually drink them but he always had one in his hand for this stay. There are 2 happy hours, 1hr at the swim up/pool bar and 1hr at the main bar from 4pm-6pm. We spent quite a bit of time around the pool despite the weather and being school holidays found there was plenty of room for kiddies down the beach end and adults down the other. (We don’t have children ourselves but enjoyed watching Deb run the activities for VIK (Very important kids). We stayed in a deluxe king room with the pool view and the bed and linen was to die for, so thick and comfy. We own a cleaning company and had no complaints about the cleanliness (Doesn’t happen often) and our services were carried out daily like clockwork. The wonderful HK staff even changed our towels one day when we forgot to leave them on the floor which to us seemed like personal service and was a nice surprise. The resort itself is also very well maintained. The location is absolutely perfect, 8mins from the airport and central to everything you may need (Woolworths, BWS, night markets, esplanade, bars etc) the Aquarium is next door and definitely worth a look, it was better than we expected. We were worried we would regret not booking something on the esplanade but after seeing the hotels/resorts and the hustle and bustle we knew we made the right choice and we were only 1 block back. From such a great experience upon checkout we ended up booking another room for August and cannot wait to get back! Thank you Novotel Cairns Oasis, you were the pillar of a memorable trip and we can’t thank you enough for such a wonderful getaway. See you soon!…
We stayed here for 5 nights over Easter 2022 with our two daughters aged 7 and 12. The rooms were nicely appointed and the beds extremely comfortable. The staff were accommodating and friendly - a shout out to Fez and the other staff churning out barista coffees each morning! They were an excellent quality. The kids club activities run by Deb were fantastic and a great addition. It's not a traditional kids club in that you drop your children off in the morning and collect later. The program ran an activity 12.30, 2.30pm. 4.20 an usually a movie night at 6pm. Parents can grab a drink at the bar or hang by the pool during the activities, which was a welcome break. Our girls enjoyed the pool snorkelling, Easter craft activities, pool side games and other fun activities arranged by Deb. The buffet breakfast was a good quality. Extra review by our 7 year old - Deb is a kind hearted person. She takes care of everyone in kids club. Her activities are sensational including the dance party and I give it a 5 star rating.…
Good hotel for families. Lots to do for kids. Very friendly and helpful staff. Ideally located. Only negatives I found were: 1) Can have more choices on restaurant menu for vegetarians 2) Need better pillows as after 6nights gave me a bad neck ache
Fantastic hotel, wonderful staff, great location! My sister and I really enjoyed our stay here. Room was spacious and clean. We ordered room service and ate in the restaurant and food was delicious everytime. Loved the pool bar too! It was school holidays and whilst we dont hace children it was really nice to see the different activities they had to cater for the children staying there with their families. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
We celebrated our daughter’s 5th birthday! We couldn’t be happier! The staff are all nice and accomodated 80 people including both parents and kids. The area isa so spacious and the use of the pool for the local is amazing! Deb from entertainment department who managed the pool areas fro the kids helped us with the cake and set up. She made sure our guest are happy until the end of the party. The food platters are amazing, they let us set up our own decorations and brought a cake. The marketing and the events staff are very accommodating with all our request. Overall recommend to visit and celebrate there! It’s awesome for evyeone!
