great access to Esplanade and also Albert street where you can pick and chose from many restaurants and take away for meals.
Manager was very open to any feedback or concerns and actively sought our feedback in person at end of our stay for quality improvement.
Great Value for money for the rooms considering its central point in Carins we were surprised and happy with this venue for our weekend away from Brisbane. We walked wherever we wanted to go to without sore feet so close to all we needed.

This apartment was ideal for myself and my 3 year old daughter. The location is absolutely perfect, very easy to get to supermarkets and the abundance of food options on offer.
Being across the road from the lagoon pool was fantastic and was easy walking access to train station and other activities

Positives: great location, very central in Cairns. Short walk to the pick-up points for tours. We got really useful tips and help from Valter who works at the reception. He was super friendly! The room we had was spacious and the balcony was nice, great views.
Negatives: no room service (unless you stay more than 1 week). You need to clean up your cutlery and get rid of garbage before you leave (on the same floor as you stay, so no biggie). There’s no 24hrs service at reception there and no breakfast, but we didn’t have a problem with that.

Unbeatable location with access to a multitude of dining options and directly opposite the lagoon and a 5 minute walk to the pier for day trips on the water. BUT...the rooms are grubby, the room is never serviced so sheets are not changed (despite the humid weather) and if you stay more than a few days you'll need to pay for extra towels, soap and toilet paper (as the rude male manager told me). All of the electrical items are of the el cheapo variety and the aircon is dated and noisy. There is a washing machine in the room but yep, you have to buy your own detergent AND take all of your own rubbish out for disposal yourself. It's a 3 star at absolute best. Tired and worn, perhaps the location does compensate for that to some extent but I'm sure there are cleaner (and friendlier) options nearby.

The location of the resort is great, with a lower entrance directly on to the Esplanade with the lagoon pool just metres away.
Our pleasant unit was well maintained, with sea views (all units seen to have this). We received a very hospitable welcome when we arrived well before check-in time, with our bags being securely stored until the room was available (which was still earlier than advertised). It’s self catering, so there weren’t many consumables, but there's a large Woolies just a couple of minutes away as well as a convenience store right next door on the Esplanade. There’s no dishwasher and only one hot plate, but these would be adequate for most people, I think. But the washer/dryer is full-size. There are detailed instructions about the fire alarm, as often found in Queensland.
The shower is “interesting”, with a window into the living area but we pulled the curtain across and weren’t fussed by this. There is a nice BBQ and garden area but the pool is on the small side (but the lagoon is so close this isn’t really an issue).
Once we received the login code, the wi fi worked seamlessly at all times for us.

You cannot beat the views and location of Breakfree Royal Harbour and the internet is very fast. Wonderful 11 Night stay in 601 right at the front of the building. Beautiful gardens, pool temp good and BBQ facilities on same level. Right across the road from the lagoon and numerous restaurants on the Esplanade plus Night Markets directly underneath. Bed was king size and very comfortable. Uncluttered living area allows for ocean views from any direction. Very fast lifts. Watched Chinese New Year fireworks from our balcony - fantastic. Very clean and well run resort. Abby, Volter and the Reception team friendly and professional. We love staying here and have booked again for June.

My wife and I stayed here for a week and found the holiday relaxing and enjoyable. The Breakfree is located centrally, and it was no problem purchasing supplies and going out to Restaurants. Everything was nearby. The Breakfree was situated right above the Night Markets and the supermarket was a block away.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Cheryl and Volta were always willing to assist with any enquiries we had. We had a 1 bedroom unit that looked over Cairns Inlet. It was very comfortable, and had a small kitchen for preparing meals, if you did not want to eat out.
Overall, a very pleasant place to stay. There was only one negative, and that was there was sometimes not enough Car Parks for all visitors' cars. It was "first in first served" which was annoying. Would I stay here again? Most definitely!

This was our 6th stay at Breakfree and have always found the staff very friendly and helpful.
The location is perfect being located right in the heart of Cairns so there is no need to hire a car as transport is very close and easy to use.
With the hotel located on top of the night markets there is a great choice of food restaurants available.

The room was spacious clean and great value for money location right in middle of all eateries, plus close easy walking distance to Woolworths.
We booked direct with reception and when we arrived Walter went over and above with every request, storing bags, leaving car to stay in car park extra few hours after we checked out.
This is our second stay and we will be back - as it makes our time in Cairns easy and nice to know we have great accomodation without any challenges.

+1
Loved our stay at BreakFree, our 1 bedroom apartment was located on the pool level with tropical gardens and BBQ areas. The apartment had everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location is the biggest bonus of these apartments, right across the road to the lagoon and tree lined esplanade area. There are fabulous restaurants and bars all at your doorstep. The wharf area is only a few minutes walk away with more fabulous restaurants and where you catch all the boats out to the reef or islands. There is supermarkets and wine stores within a couple of minutes walk. We didn’t need to hire a car the local bus service easily took us to Palm Cove, Kuranda, DFO and Holloway’s Beach. We would definitely stay here again and Valter was so friendly and helpful at reception.

Roadworks were ongoing in August 2020 when I visited the region. Cannot comment if they have been completed however they were of no inconvenience at the time.
Sorry for such a late reply it depends on what you prefer we stayed on floor 7 with a balcony and it was truly amazing you can see all around the harbour. It is without doubt one of the best accommodations we have stayed in. The ground floor with the pool I would expect you would see the large trees across the road however we didnt use the pool so can't be sure.
Hi, Carol, no there is no step into the shower/Spa, but there is a grab rail to hold onto to help,
Hello, Apartments are not serviced unless your stay is longer than 7 nights - then a mid-stay service is performed. If your booking is less than 8 nights, you can wash your towels in the washing machine in your apartment or you can ask our Receptionist to arrange for fresh towels.
