Does exactly what it says on the tin - great place for a short stay with large comfortable rooms and great swimming pools.

It’s very much motel style and does feel a little bit open to the road with not much security but we didn’t have any issues.

It is a short journey away from the airport but not really near to anything being out of the town centre, however if you don’t want the expense of taxis to the centre then buses from the shopping mall opposite are frequent, easy and inexpensive.

There is no food at the hotel but you can of course get an Uber Eats delivery or walk over to the shopping mall where you can grab breakfast etc - Cafe 63 opens till quite late and has a massive menu so you can have dinner there too (nothing fancy but adequate and not expensive)

The hotel is quiet enough at night but you need to be lucky with the guests, there were some very loud guests when we were there but they seemed to make the most noise at 7am for some weird reason.

Cairns doesn’t have much to offer mid range to cheap end that is decent unless you opt to pay a lot so this hotel is a no brainer really for value and comfort.

We stayed here recently as it was convenient to the airport. Before our first flight we stayed in a King Room with pool view. Nice room on the ground floor close to reception, neat and clean and fairly large it was good value. On our return from overseas we were given a King Room on the first floor and it was another good room overlooking the pool. Unfortunately we got to Cairns at the end of cyclone Jasper so the highway south was closed. We had to rebook for another two nights before we could resume our journey back home. The staff were very helpful and we got to stay in the same room for less than the price of the original booking price. Located right next door to the hotel is a shopping centre so we were able to get supplies and had somewhere to go to get something to eat. The only minor downside was the lack of onsite parking, had to park on the street in front of the hotel but the street had plenty of room so it wasn't too bad.

Location: The hotel is located in a suburb called, Manunda, in Cairns 7-11 Chester Court. It is about 5 km from the CBD. If you have a vehicle to move about, the location is a not an issue at all. There is ample parking within the property. However most of the vehicles were parked on the streets closer to the occupants’ rooms.
The resort consists of three blocks at a triangular shaped block surrounded by Western Arterial Route 91, Cochrane Street and Chester Court. All the rooms by the side of the Western Arterial Route experience traffic noise. From traffic noise point of view, only the rooms on the side of Chester Court and some rooms along Cochrane were satisfactory to us. Most of the rooms appear to have noisy very old type of air conditioners. We state this because we changed rooms three times during our very short stay there.
The entrance doors to the rooms face the road side. The opposite sides of most of rooms are on the pool side having a balcony and balcony entrance door. These doors are glass and wooden louver type. As such there is lighting coming through to the rooms.
Combined with traffic noise, air conditioner noise and light coming through the louver type doors (on pool side), the sleep quality is extremely poor.
Amenities: The rooms were very spacious. There was tea/coffee making facilities with ample supply of tea/coffee/sugar/cream. Every room had a mini Fridge, ironing board and a key operated safety deposit box. The beds were very comfortable. The cleanliness was impeccable. Wi-Fi was breaking off very regularly.
Reception/Service: The reception staff was extraordinarily helpful and friendly and tried to help us within the limitations of the property.
Breakfast/Restaurant: There is no restaurant/café. There is no breakfast served as well.

Only stayed here for one night, but could easily have stayed longer.

We unfortunately initially had a room next to some extremely noisy guests, but management responded immediately and moved us to another room.

The resort is a little dated, but it has been refurbished and renovated and all the fittings inside are modern, fiunctional and clean.
Quality soaps and shampoo/conditioners are also a nice touch in the bathroom.

The pools are clean and large. A 25m lap pool is complimented with a lagoon pool and also a kids pool.
All surrounded by palm trees adding shade to the ambience.

We got the room for an amazingly price, clearly this resort is marketing itself aggressively to attract visitors back to the area, but do not think you are getting a 3 star resort because this place is definitely 4 stars.

Only drawback is that the location is a few kms from the waterfront, but hey you can't have everything for the price it is being offered for.
There are shops nearby and a few places to eat as well.

This resort is clearly trying hard to revive things in difficult circumstances for tourism at the moment and deserves our support, so get to beautiful Cairns and spend some of the time here.

You won't be disappointed..

Dear Steve, Thank you so much for your kind review. While it’s true we are an older resort, we are widely known for offering excellent value for money. We are lucky enough to be not so far of the action of Cairns Esplanade but still 'tucked away' enough to make it feel like the hidden gem that it is. We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.

Unfortunately our stay here wasn't great which was a shame as it was the place we stayed for the longest on our road trip. Location is ok, next to a Cafe 63 and shops however an expensive taxi ride from the centre of Cairns.
The guy at reception who checked us in wasn't very friendly and gave us no info and said he didn't usually work there so couldn't answer our questions. It would have been helpful if he'd said he didn't know but would find out and let us know! First impressions are very important so not a great start. Our rooms were on the other side of the hotel, next to a very busy and noisy main road which prevented any of us having a good night's sleep. Also sadly we had very noisy neighbours who played loud music and were shouting loudly until midnight then started again at 7am. We told reception and asked where the 24hr security presence was as they must have heard it. The lady on reception was helpful and said she's sort it and said she could move us but only us as no availability for all our party to be moved so declined as we were all suffering with the noise. Surely it would have been better to have moved the noisy people. Rooms themselves were nice with a comfy bed and good shower. Terrace had view of the pool which we didn't get to use as were out all day.
Wouldn't recommend sadly and if we go to Cairns again, will stay more centrally.

We stayed here for 8 nights and was very pleased with the standard of accommodation for the price we paid.
Our room was large, bright and clean with comfortable beds. It was well furnished with table and chairs, fridge, tv, iron, ironing board and tea making facilities. The balcony overlooked the pool and had a small table and a couple if chairs.
The pool was attractive surrounded by plants and was very pleasant to relax in. There was also a swimming pool which we never tried. The staff were always helpful and pleasant.
Buffet breakfast was adequate with a choice of 3 cereals, good selection of cooked food and several different pieces of fruit, with juices tea and coffee.
A two minute walk led to a small shopping centre and a big Woolworths. Other than a Red Rooster there were no other eating options at night within close proximity. There is a regular bus service into the city and the hotel offers a shuttle service at certain times of the day for a small cost.

Standard hotel, looks good from the outside and is nice from inside, maybe a little old and basic but was clean and tidy for a short stay. The reception staff were lovely and helpful, same with the security staff, they appeared very thorough which made us feel safe. We asked for a quiet room but we’re right near reception, loud music went off around 6:30am and cases/ noises could be heard from early.

Location is too far away from centre of Cairns, with a car you’re able to get around.

We only stayed for one night and the hotel was perfect for what we needed. Do not think we would return based on location

Nice apartments, clean and lovely pool area with rooms alsooverlooking the pool. Slightly noisey as backs on to main road. Unfortunately, a 25/30 min bus or 15 min cab costing around $20 one way. Would be nice if a little shuttle was put on as nothing else around the apartments other than a Woolworths.

I spent 8 days at the motel recuperating from major surgery. The room was clean and had everything except a microwave. The staff were friendly and very helpful, especially one night when I locked myself out. I thoroughly enjoyed walking around the gardens and the two swimming pools (one is a lap pool) to get my daily exercise. There was also plenty of room to store the mobility scooter I hired locally. Re the microwave, they do have a guest kitchen, but I’d have preferred one in the room. 9/10.

I had a queen when I stayed there, but quite likely, yes. For pretty much everywhere outside of the United States, a double means single beds.
