Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Location was wonderful however the accomodation very unsafe, dirty, broken tiles, chipped paint, glasswear and cups not washed smelly. All uber drivers warned me to stay indoors once it was dark! Felt very unsafe and glad to leave. When I complained they only gave me a voucher to return very disappointed.

This place would have once been lovely perhaps 20 years ago. However it is now clearly very rundown and in urgent need of a revamp. Woke in the middle of the night to screaming and fighting with someone’s belongings strewn down the hall. The place appears to be used for long term tenants and many of an undesirable nature. The room was relatively clean. However overall very dated and with a feeling of dampness on the bedding and not at all conducive to holiday relaxation. The taxi driver said to me on the way to the airport it has a bad reputation for undesirables lurking around and is someone most certainly not recommended. The photos on the internet do not correctly portray this hotels current circumstances. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Rooms were run down with peeling paint. Wi-if was terrible. The temperature control did not work in our room and we were freezing for most of the night. Other reviews mention this as well so perhaps this is intentional on the hotel’s part?? Staff were friendly enough, but there were dodgy characters hanging around outside. View from 4th floor was lovely.

This was the worst, most unprofessional hotel experience I've ever BEEN to (and I've stayed at backpackers in my youth). The customer service was appalling, the young guy in the counter didn't want to be there, he couldn't be bothered, made us wait ages to get us a key etc then we had to ask all the questions about parking etc he didn't tell us anything about anything. Then we went upstairs, got out of the lift on our level and the carpets were disgusting. We walked to our room and the hall stank of cigarettes. We opened our door only to walk into ANOTHER PERSONS ROOM!!!! The young man in there was very surprised and not impressed. We went back down stairs, the guy on the desk didn't care or even apologise. So we got a refund (that we still don't even have in our accounts days later). DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU ARE DESPERATE !!!!!!

We have stayed at Acacia over the last 16 years. However this time means we are never going back. The television did not work, the wifi did not work and the toilet kept flushing. When I complained they just said ‘sorry’ not good enough. The meal in Charlie’s was a very limited menu. The service not good we were served our main meal before the entree!!

This hotel was smelly, and falling apart in places. The balcony door was ajar and held closed by an added basic locking system. However it was clean, sheets very clean and bathroom clean however other parts just needed replacing. The sconce lights above the bed where silver plated and peeling off. One was broken. The bed didnt look great however ended up being very comfortable. Would not recommend and the old saying goes you get what you pay for!!! Note: Cairns accomodation is very expensive..,,

The room looked and smelt old musty and the smell of mildew hung in the air. I did not want to sleep on the bed and went to purchase my own bedding which i lay on top of the bed, i also bought my own towel. the curtain on entrance was falling apart with mold an mildew all over it, pieces were falling off as I touched it. I submitted a complaint to the organisation which booked me there. Acacia Court staff and management need an overhaul as well as the entire complex, it is major need of a renovation to bring up to livable standards.

Do not book here, read all the reviews from 2023- they are not exaggerating. Run down and dirty, at the northern end of the esplanade. There are much nicer places to stay locally, do your homework, read the reviews, do not trust the photos.

Do not go here. Not a hotel it is a homeless shelter. Dirtiest worst accommodation I have ever been to. Do not believe anything on hotel site. Run down dirty wouldn't let my dog stay here even hot water is a problem.
