Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice location, close to the city. Friendly and helpful service at front desk, pool was lovely and clean. Maybe what would be nice is to spice up the place if the owners utilised the open top decking area and the spacious communal area for some kind of entertainment for the customer’s and permanent residents who live here. Rooms are ok for the price you pay for and a small oven would’ve been great. BBQ area clean as always.

This was better than we expected we booked a studio room and it had the facilities hot plate, large fringe , all the kitchen conveniences good bed and it was vey quiet at night. The pool was great we stayed for 9 nights and we will return to this resort next time we go to Cairns. The only thing is you need a car as it is approx 20 minutes out of town but for value you will find no better place.

Great place to stay we got the room with a kitchen. It had a full sized fridge and electric cooktop and toaster and kettle .It overlooked the pool which was nice. Could always find a carpark somewhere.Very convenient to the highway and close to supermarkets.Good budget priced hotel would come back again as we felt we got a bargain for what we paid

We love this place. Pila is wonderful - thank you again Pila for all your help and wonderful service. The gardens here are beautiful and the pool is absolutely lovely. Great BBQ facilities next to the pool too as well as a giant chess set. The children play area has been expanded since our last visit - no shortage of swings and climbing equipment set under lots of shade at the side of our building. Our room was fully self-contained and comfortable. The price is still as good as last time. Cairns Gateway Resort is a short drive to everywhere - it's an easy 1km to Mount Sheridan shopping centre on a quiet road or a short drive into the city centre. Plenty of parking, a cafe, conference facilities and free WiFi, good laundry too. Quiet, comfortable and affordable - it really is our home away from home.
