We really enjoyed out time at Hilton Cairns. Facilities are very good and location is fantastic. However, we believe that the bedrooms needed more maintenance. We are aware that the hotel is in the process of renovating them all, therefore future travellers will be pleased with that. We received a very friendly welcome, we loved the breakfast and found the staff very professional, friendly and helpful.
We booked a room for several days for a conference. We flew overnight from interstate with the expected delay. We got into Cairns at 7.00am. At 9.00am we went to the Hilton and asked if it was possible to check in earlier as we had been awake for 26 hours (even lunchtime would have been ok) and offered to pay extra. The customer service officer checked to see if our room was ready and said she thought it was but need housekeeping to sign off. She said she would text us as soon as that was done. We went away and waited all day but no text. We returned at 3.00pm to find she had forgotten to contact us. We checked in after not sleeping for 32 hours. 2 days later we were speaking to other people at our conference and found that they had all been informed at check in that our room price entitled us to use the Executive Lounge facilities which would have allowed us to have breakfast, coffees and snacks throughout the day and a light evening meal and drinks all apparently included in our booking. Sadly our customer service officer not only omitted to tell us our room was ready early she also prevented us from using facilities we had paid for. So disappointed and could not recommend a hotel that allows staff to treat customers who paid a premium price in this manner.…
This hotel is very well situated and the staff were all amazing so helpful and friendly very welcoming breakfast is excellent' . We loved this hotel, it’s in a great location, it’s in walking distance of loads of attractions and restaurants, our room had nice view of the harbour
We stayed at the Hilton for 3 nights and loved the hotel and it’s location. Cairns is a big country town and the Hilton is one of the best in town. The rooms look like they have just been refurbished and the hotel was clean and impressive for a big country town. The buffet breakfast was extremely good and the staff where fantastic.
Check-in saw us wait 10 mins with no-one ahead of us and two receptionists head down on computers. Then they couldn’t find our booking. 20-30 mins after arriving we were allocated our room. Rooms are ok, ours on a higher floor had a pleasant river & mountain view. Small bathroom with shower over bath. Breakfast is overcrowded with long waits depending on when you get their. Club canapés were the cheapest and most basic I’ve experienced. Ended up eating main meal around 4:30 out knowing canapés would be inadequate. My wife enjoyed two excellent cocktails in Gin Social (using our complimentary $20 per day). Cleaner, bar and club staff pleasant and helpful. However, when we and other customers at Gin Social went to order a second drink now staff present for a good five to ten minutes. So we and they left. Feels more four star than five.…
Stayed at Hilton Cairns attending business conference. Hotel is very tired and un-kept. Seriouly in need of face lift. Gardens need attention. Foyer was un-inviting. Rooms are very tired and need updating. Receiption staff great, very friendly and helpful, even when trying to checkin after 3pm and room not ready. Just little things that feel like they are trying to save money, conference was over two days with a conference dinner in between. Staff did not change table cloths from the full day conference in preparation for the dinner at night. Was advised only changing soiled table cloths. This just reeks of cheap!
This is a very good hotel. Great happy attentive staff, everything just works well. Great position, amazing views, comfy beds, decent breakfast buffet. Nice pool area to lounge around. Only one gripe- the pool is so cold it’s ridiculous. Would be happy to stay here again.
Lovely Staff, location has a cool breeze and is very convenient to everything, amazing breakfast, beautiful views. Lovely room and loved being on the balcony. Well kept hotel. Nice gardens around pool, just wish it had been warmer to enjoy it more. Pool area is probably quite shaded most of the day. This hotel would be in the perfect spot for summer as it seems cooler than the rest of Cairns. But was a bit cool in June. The Mondo on the waterfront restaurant by the water was very average and staff seemed confused, didn't know about honours promotions being run, not great service, not willing to turn on the heaters. The water in the spa didn't smell very good and the smell travelled quite far from the spa, so i wasn't willing to use it, but other people didn't seem to mind. I stuck with the swimming pool, which smelt normal, except when you got a whiff of the spa. The cocktails by the pool were average. Hard to keep the water off the floor when using the shower. Overall we had an excellent time here, and I will stay again next time if the price isn't too expensive.…
Had the opportunity to stay in both an Executive Floor room and also a standard room. The executive floor room was amazing, large, clean, renovated and amazing water views. The service in the lounge was first class. Nothing bad to say. Unfortunately the same cannot be said of the standard room on level 3. The room looked old, run down, had rust and mould, and the view from the balcony was terrible. Not to mention that water constantly dripped from a drain above causing the balcony to be wet and unusable. Definitely not Hilton standard. On the plus side, the staff at reception, bar, and cafe were excellent, friendly and helpful. 5 stars to the staff. The breakfast buffet was nice, plenty of variety. Location was excellent, close to plenty of cafes and restaurants, and a nice walk along the Esplanade to get to the main streets and markets. I would only recommended staying on the Executive floor, if budget permits.…
I am extremely hard to impress and am very particular about cleanliness and service. The Hilton, Cairns did not disappoint. We travelled for my husband's 50th Birthday and our 25th Wedding Anniversary and were very surprised at having been upgraded to the enormous Premier Executive Suite! Champagne and cake was awaiting us on arrival. From the moment we entered the hotel, we were impressed with the service, the cleanliness and the extras we were offered. Nothing was too much trouble. We had so many daily bonuses eg free drinks, that we couldn't use them all. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was massive, the view is magnificent, the location is perfect for activities and dining. Loved our stay and will definitely stay at a Hilton hotel the next time we travel.
