My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Hilton. The staff were absolutely incredible, so friendly and welcoming. Before staying I read reviews that mentioned the hotel didn’t live up to people’s expectations of the Hilton brand and that fair enough, however, upon experiencing it myself I found the Spa room we stayed in was clean and had everything we needed for our 4 night stay. That said, we are also not the type of travellers that spend at lot of time in the hotels/resorts itself while on holidays and we tend to get out and explore Our package included daily breakfast which was à la carte and we enjoyed everything on the menu. We would definitely stay at Hilton Cairns again.
Great facilities- pool, table tennis, pool volleyball and giant chess. Great location in marina- lots of restaurants, close to parks and the lagoon. No need to take a taxi. Very nice views from the room.
Positives - friendly and helpful staff at reception. Good location next to Marina. Pool and gym facilities are good. Negatives - room service was very slow and often forgot part of our order. Breakfast was a disaster. Waiting for an hour to be served breakfast. They improved waiting time towards the end of our holiday by serving hot breakfast Buffett style with servers- much quicker. But gave up on breakfast with a screaming toddler a couple of times. Room was old and tired. Mattress was so old it had a dip in the middle. Reception organised another room for us however the second room had wet carpet outside bathroom. If you are booking the Hilton Carins thinking you are booking a high end hotel don’t bother. This is a three star hotel at best.
We were very disappointed with our stay at the Hilton Cairns... and im not one to complain!. The room was worn out. Carpet was about 5 years past its used by date (see photo). Air con duct was filthy (see pic) and generally the room felt dirty.
We loved our stay at the Hilton Cairns and will return when we can. Great deal on very nice accommodation and it’s in such a good location on Cairns inlet near restaurants, Casino, boat trips, Cairns lagoon pool and the city centre. It’s also only a few blocks to the Cairns Aquarium, Rusty’s Market and Cairns Central shopping centre. I really liked the gardens on each level which made it look very tropical. Breakfast was included and was very nice though staff are very busy with COVID restrictions but that can’t be helped these days. The staff were lovely and when I left some clothes in the wardrobe, they were promptly posted to me which was great!
