Hotel was good value at just under $73 for a twin room for the night and was walking distance to all the action but not in amongst it. My twin room was a good size and the split system air conditioner worked quietly and efficiently. The premises overall are ageing, but were overall still in good repair, and it was a surprise to receive a follow up customer service survey from the property's manager Weiqing Ni.
Parking wasn't a problem on the premises, though if you're there in peak season then there are more rooms than there are parking spots, so you may find yourself having to park on the street outside.
Reception doesn't seem to be staffed at night but I did receive a phone call on my day of check-in and was able to make arrangements for my "after hours" arrival.
From memory, I think there may have been some issues with the water pressure in the shower, which resulted in it being a little difficult to control the temperature. My bathroom had a "shower over bath" configuration but I was disappointed to not have a plug provided for the bathtub, which made it near-impossible to take a bath if I so desired.
Another minor detail was that there was a complimentary wrapped biscuit provided with the tea and coffee etc., but it would have been nice to actually have two packets provided, seeing as it was a twin room and it would be safe to assume there would be two people staying!
Otherwise, I was genuinely surprised and satisfied with what I got for my money here, and have no major complaints. My room was clean and ready and everything worked.

You really do get what you pay for here! It was mostly clean, comfortable and quiet.
Limited off street parking- we did have to park on the road. Would have been a pain if we were staying for longer than a day as the parking is timed and busy as it is across from the hospital.
We didn’t use the pool, but it looked lovely.
Reception were friendly and quick.
A little more attention to details in the bathroom cleanliness wise would be better. The rooms are quiet old but happy for the price we paid.
About a 10-15 min walk to the main dining area of the esplanade.

The service on arrival and during my visit was great. The lady at the front desk was very attentive and quick to assist when asked.
The room was clean and tidy, but the bathroom decor had cracked tiles in the shower and just had an air of tiredness...a renovation wouldn't hurt. One Power point was also unserviceable.
The hotel wifi is excellent.
It's a comfortable stay and handy to the CBD.
The presence of significant roadworks outside the hotel made access to the carparks during the day a little challenging but beyond the control of the hotel.
Overall a good visit.

I absolutely cannot believe the spiel on the website describing it as bright, inviting with balconies… for $159 I’m disgusted. Dingy, dark, rundown, no microwave, plates or cutlery, the balcony is the interior second floor walkway overlooking the car park…. I’m absolutely disgusted and more disappointed in myself for believing the website description without coming on here first to check the reviews and guest photos for more accuracy. Thank god it’s only one night and leaving early to the airport, but I’ll be clutching my bags close making the trek to my car in the hourly hours of the morning and telling the kids to stick close. For the same price, stay at the Cairns Queenslander where you get washing machine dryer full fridge and an actual balcony with views! SOOO angry with myself!

What a disappointment. The only thing comfortable about the room was the bed. It is sparsely furnished, with a table ant two cheap plastic chairs with no arms, nothing like the chairs shown in the review photos. The only other furniture is a small coffee table and a built in wardrobe containing the fridge, kettle etc.
No microwave, not even a toaster.
And the bathroom looks like the tiler was drunk, with tiles curved up the walls and down to the drains, making the floor, and especially the shower, quite unsafe.
I deliberately phoned this property to request a ground floor room with a walk in shower, explaining that I have mobility issues, so I am not happy at all with what I was allocated.

Checked in for 3 nights, reception lady pleasant and friendly, and that was the end of our positive experience.
Room was dingey and dark. Bathroom was disgusting, bath was brown, needed a good clean. Shower was over the bath, and there was no hand rail to hold on to when getting into bath which is difficult for people with mobility issues. Bugger all power points around. No cutlery, plates, bowls etc. We asked for these and a toaster, which was delivered 15 minutes later, absolutely filthy. No way would I put bread in that. The cutlery was dirty like someone had just used it, as was the bowls and plates. Very very disappointed and will never stay there again. When we booked in, we were told we were upstairs, I asked if there was a downstairs room available as my mother is elderly. The receptionist found us one and said it was an upgrade. She had to be kidding, an upgrade..?? Would hate to see what the other rooms were like. We left after two hours and found another place to stay for three nights which was so much better than The Comfort Inn, and much healthier for us.
The pictures available to entice you to book here, is not what it is like at all.
Cost was $459 for three nights. I made a complaint to Management, and also through booking.com which is where we booked this accommodation. Management offered to refund us for 2 nights, even though we were only in the room for two hours, they would not refund the 1st night because we had "been in the room"... Reception lady contacted me two days later apologising for our experience and said they would be talking to their cleaning staff. Need to do a lot more than that.

I really loved this motel as it was very Quiet during the day and night, even though they were full with guests. The motel was very, very clean, the beds were very comfortable and there was enough room for my two young children to play. The staff at reception were so friendly and helpful in arranging a ground floor unit for me.
I have noticed that many hotels in Cairns are not staffed since Covid and it was so wonderful to have friendly staff available at reception and answering phones.
Thanks for a wonderful stay. I will be back.

NOT IMPRESSED!... Unit had a very strong smell of bleach on arrival so we opened door to air it out. We sat on the outdoor chairs supplied to each unit to sit and talk. Ended up with a new shirt destroyed by bleach. Went and spoke to front reception and all I got was "I'm sorry". No offer of replacing damaged property. Just didn't care. Staff have been great otherwise but when someone's personal property is destroyed they could of atleast offered to replace it or compensate for damage caused by their cleaners. NO I will not be returning to resort in the future. Im pretty sure if I damaged something of theirs I would have to pay for or replace item.. Seriously not impressed by managements response.

My first stay here, for 2 nights. Manager at check in was friendly and quick. Key to my door would not work, so she changed to room next door. Not really a fan of sliding glass entry doors though.
Room was clean although it is an older style motel in Cairns. Bed was a great surprise as it was very comfortable.
Rates are very reasonable for this motel. I did not have breakfast as it looked rather lacking for the $8 charge. Also did not use the restaurant either, as I usually walk to the Esplanade for dinner, which is only a 10 minute walk away.
I will stay here again.
