#19 of 68 hotels in Cairns
Flynn, a Crystalbrook Collection Hotel, is the younger sibling to Riley and Bailey and like many younger siblings, Flynn likes being the social butterfly and doesn’t mind showing off from time to time. Exquisite glass swimming pools facing the Esplanade to splash in is just one example of how Flynn likes to engage. Staying with Flynn is a stimulating experience. Flynn likes to entertain our guests… not just accommodate them. Guests can be assured of truly dynamic food and drink experiences – there is always a DJ ready to play and a martini ready to be shaken (or stirred). Just steps from the Esplanade boardwalk, Flynn enjoys modern living through attitude, design, technology and a passion for a better world – or what we call #responsibleluxury. That means no plastic straws, water bottles or guest-room key cards, using technology to reduce paper, providing large-pump amenities bottles (saving more than 250,000 plastic bottles each year) and partnering with Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef, TerraCycle, OzHarvest and Containers for Change. Flynn likes to show off online too so, of course, fast and free Wi-Fi is available in all public spaces throughout the hotel. Each room and suite also has an Apple iPad control centre, Staycast by Google for video streaming, access to hundreds of complimentary movies and Nespresso machines (naturally with recyclable pods). A dining experience at Flynn is not simply a reflection of the local culture, but a representation of the ever-changing natural surrounds of Cairns. Featuring local flavours and a mouth-watering selection of cuisine, the culinary options are unsurpassed. Satisfy your carb-cravings with a hearty Italian spread at Flynn’s, treat yourself with a divine high tea tower at Whiskey and Wine, or feast on a smorgasbord of tasty treats at Boardwalk Social. There’s something for everyone. The impressive assortment of local and imported wines offered at our distinguished on-site bars will leave you spoiled for choice, but if wine isn’t your thing, the creative cocktail concoctions will not disappoint.

Another great stay at a Crystalbrook property. After staying at The Bailey last year we decided to give The Flynn a go. It was wonderful and we had a great time. The hotel is in a terrific location, right on the Esplanade, walking distance from everything. We were upgraded to a balcony room which was so lovely of them to do and we received an early checkin, which meant we could go upstairs change into fresh clothes and hit the city immediately. Staff were always on hand to help out, nothing was too much of an ask for them. The room was spotless and modern and the hotels facilities are beautiful (although the pool is still a little fresh in October) We ordered cocktails at Flynn’s Italian and Whisky & Wine and they were both stellar!

Stayed in a an ocean view room for 5 nights. The room was smaller than we would have liked, however the view was worth it. Not many of the food and beverage outlets across all 3 Crystalbrooks in Cairns were open which was disappointing. Service was great, cocktails were delicious. Next time I will stay at the Riley as it was located slightly further down the road away from the noise of the street below.

We live in Cairns and quite often dine at Flynn's. A casual, friendly environment with lovely staff. Unfortunately my husband order the seafood ceviche, which, as the temperature was 28+ didn't not stay on its lovely bed of ice. Within 20 minutes the seafood was floating, or rather sinking in a sea of salty water. Its preferred environment surely. Bevan spoke to the waiter and the chef was most accomodating and provided a complete other meal - this time without the ice. Good plan for the future. Some things suit the tropics, the others, like ice, don't

Upgraded to a seaview room for 3 night stay. The room itself was nothing special, the balcony was the smallest balcony I have ever had at a hotel including cruises and I've stayed in 5 different continents. TV selection local only with in demand movies. The room fridge was small but could hold about 6 cans. The cupboards for hanging was ample and were the drawers. The bathroom was manageable, cut in half by the shower screen but the lighting in that room was poor especially as the wife was trying to use it to spruce up for our nights out. The towels used were of poor quality. The hotel has an open air bar and bistro section $10 a schooner, $18 cocktails happy hour Thurs - Sunday between 5p - 6p reduced the prices of the schooner to $6. Breakfast was a la carte but $32 p.p. The ambience in that area was also excellent, good music and live music on a weekend. The hotel has 2 wings and 2 lap pools situated on floors 1 and 2, on 1st floor was glass bottom so you could see swimmers whilst you had a refreshment, both pools far too cold for my liking also no poolside service. The location was excellent right on the Esplanade next to Cairns Night Markets and not far from the lagoon area. The staff on a whole were excellent and did the hotel proud. Do I consider this a 5 star hotel, certainly not. If you are going to pay 5 star prices then you need 5 star amenities. I rate it possibly 4 star or just under. If you have a family it is much better to stay at their sister hotel Crystalbrook Bailey which has resort style pool and surrounds.

We had an awesome stay at Crystalbrook. After an awful midnight horror flight from WA we arrived at about 6:00am all tired and grumpy from the flight. Well this all changed when we got to the hotel as we were greeted by the most lovely receptionist who immediately got us into our rooms and made us feel welcome. What a great start to our holiday. The hotel itself is lovely. it is very modern, well designed exceptionally clean and the rooms are awesome. Has a great Gym too which we used lots ( a prerequisite now whenever we travel). But it is the staff that really made the stay special. You can really see that management have done well selecting only the best people and have trained them really well. All the cleaning ladies were friendly and said hello and the bar staff and restaurant staff were next level great. Nothing was too much trouble. A special shout out to Karis, Nathan, Thomas and Amerlie plus Jordan at Rocco. We will definitely be coming back ASAP.
