The staff were magnificent and everything you need is there. Just a bit run down. Practical not romantic. You need a car but downtown is close. It's a bit noisy. No wifi was a big problem for the teens. The staff helped with any request. Pool available but not the right season.

Stayed for 2 nights with our 2 teen daughters. Everything was good. It was touching to see that special care had been taken to make things just right. Dated, yes, but clean, well-supplied and everything working properly. Considering the age and amenities it's not what you would call a bargain at $90 a night but we didn't have the energy/time...

The appartment was great , well equipped kitchen, clean & tidy! Yes it was dated, but everything worked, we were at the front but didnt find it noisy. 4 of us sharing , plenty of hot water for showers, managers great, helpful & friendly. We got value for money & would quite happily stay again :)

We stayed for 8 nights and wouldn't return, it is just too basic with little or no maintenance. The units really need to be stripped and refurbished and outfitted with someone that is actually pleased to see you. The chap who appeared to be in charge needs a personality transplant, gave us the impression that he doesn't want to be...

I was excited to stay in my first Shangri-La; what a disappointment. I don't know why Shangri-La would have their name on the building and allow their reputation to be tarnished by this hotel. Cairns in general should be avoided. We made a mistake in staying here. The whole place is rather a dive. Wish we had stayed in Port...

We found this hotel to be a good balance between affordability and services. The services are adequate, but not over the top, and the room is of good size with all the things we need. Minor issues were addressed quickly, and the concierge desk helped a lot, especially with our excursion booking. The lobby is very spacious, but our rooms...

I stayed here for a week with my daughter while we explored the area. We just wanted somewhere to sleep and were out all day. My heart sank when I first saw the accommodation - it was very old and very basic. However, it was immaculately clean and we didn't need fancy furniture or facilities and it was cheap. There...

I needed to go back to Cairns from interstate for my mothers funeral. We looked for a place that offered a good price and had whatever we needed... we FOUND it! Basic 2 bedroom apartment... older style building... but clean and the Manager Peter couldn't be friendlier! Whatever our request - it wasn't too much... and the disappointment on his...
