Venturing further afield on a Dive trip we stayed a few days before and after going out to Sea on a dive charter at NRMA Cairns.

We stayed in their cabins, which are quiet, clean and very convenient to easily base our selves while enjoying the attractions of Cairns.

The rooms have comfortable beds, very clean, roomy enough and have air conditioning which helps to get a good nights sleep.

We prepaid breakfast in the small outside kitchen enjoyed the friendly staff while they did their work.

I will stay here a rain any time.

Cheers Peter

My wife and I stayed at Cairns Holiday park for one week in an ensuite site. While the sites are drive through they are not long enough to stay hitched. Also, the roads are narrow making parking a bit difficult. It took a bit of manoeuvring to get out as well, luckily there was no-one in the site in front, so we managed to drive through.
The park is in a great location within easy drive to everything in Cairns, although not much is in walking distance.
The ensuite was in reasonably good condition, but what made it special was that it was 'refreshed' half way through our stay. We do not use ensuite sites a lot, but this was the first time we had an ensuite cleaned and toilet paper, towels and soap replaced - we really appreciated that extra touch.
There is a bit of road noise, but it did not disturb us a great deal. Also, it is not far off the flight path for Cairns Airport, but again we did not find it a problem. There were no overnight flights so it did not disturb our sleep.
The staff were friendly and helpful.

Overall, this was a very good caravan park, probably a good choice to stay in Cairns.

A 7 minute drive from the center of Cairns, about 40' on foot, this campsite is also served by a public bus (123) and others that arrive nearby. There are many services (washing machine, dryer, ironing), sports complex and base camp for campers. The reception is very active to book excursions and support. The rooms in the houses are quite large and have 3 beds (one on top to leave more space). The bathrooms are cleaned continuously and security comes by constantly. One bathroom is not enough for so many houses, but there are others a few steps away, in the center of the campsite. Good value for money. The airport is 15' away by taxi or uber.

Whilst Reception was good, the cleanliness of the facilities left me wishing I had not booked a campsite for 3 nights. The camp kitchen was dirty: tables had a grooved metal surface making it impossible to thoroughly clean one. The floor was not cleaned on a daily basis. A large number of condiments were left, some of which past expiry date. The fridges were adequate in number, but nothing was marked. This creates a source of out of date and mouldy food. Rubbish bins were open, making an unpleasant source of flies. The dish washing area was small and inadequate for the number of campers. A very disappointing place.

We were looking for a dog-friendly caravan park close to the centre of Cairns, and we certainly found it. The place is well laid out, with huge shady trees and beautiful landscaping. Considering its location, it was amazingly quiet, and we were woken by nothing more intrusive than birdsong in the mornings. We had one of the few en suite powered sites (if I could have one wish it would be more of these so we could be more certain of securing one) and the bathroom was beautiful and very clean, with a huge shower and well-placed power outlets. We were there outside the school holiday period, and it may be noisier and busier then, but the park was filled mainly with older travellers and their caravans and younger travellers with their tents or camper vans. I wonder how busy it would be without C19 restricting travel, but we'd booked well in advance and our place was secure. The staff were friendly and helpful. The amenities were kept immaculate – I especially noticed this in the laundry – and the bins were emptied often. Our doggo enjoyed his visit too, receiving lots of petting and admiration, and has informed us he'd like to come back soon. We'd better get booking! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place, and indeed, already have to several friends.

Hi Kate, Thanks for providing us such a wonderful review - I will pass this onto our staff who work very hard for our guests! We appreciate your kind words on our quiet, shady Park (we love our birdlife who visit us daily too!). Great to hear you enjoyed being on our powered ensuite campsites, they are certainly in high demand now as many travellers are looking for their own bathroom facilities when travelling. Such a great option and we'd love to have many more of these at our Park too! We appreciate you recommending us to your family and friends & can't wait to have them (and you + your dog visit again soon)! Thanks, Tanya - Park Manager

Highly recommend the staff and accommodation at NRMA Cairns Holiday Park.

We are a visiting U14 basketball team of 10 boys and 4 adults, we arrived in cairns to find our original booking less than desirable... in fact possibly had be used for an "adult movie" film set!

So, I urgently rang NRMA to see if they could help us. Tanya and Mel were so very helpful, they moved heaven and earth to fit our large group into cavin rooms and we could not be happier with the park, its accommodation, facilities and staff.

The camp kitchen was an amazing set up, with other visitors saying the best they have seen in their travels.

I highly recommend the Cairns NRMA Holiday Park for your next stay in cairns.

Thanks to Tanya and team for your care, concern and generosity to help our large group at the drop of a hat.

I will be returning here for a family holiday for sure.

Thank so much

Mrsevanspink, we loved having you and your team visit us. Thank you for providing us a great review. We are so glad we were able to help you out last minute, and so happy we had enough lodge rooms free to cater for the whole team. Our camp kitchen area certainly is a perfect spot for a larger group like yourselves, lots of tables for the kids to spread out and relax, charging power ports, BBQ's, kitchen facilities (hot plates, microwaves, toasters etc) and also large fridges. We look forward to seeing you back for a more relaxing trip next time with the family! Thanks, Tanya

We stayed here in our RV as needed to fly from Cairns and on first night were given a muddy patch but change the next day for a slab. Night kitchen was good but showers/toilets were old a grubby. There is a newly renovated block but it was never open while I was there before Xmas. We also had to pay different prices each night for some reason

This campsite is closest to the city. Probably therefore, it is a very busy site with not a lot of space between the campsites, although it is not too bad at all. Unfortunately, we were put on a spot that is probably the roughest in the campground; uneven, triangle shaped, with the water hookup quite far out and poor wifi reception. It was however quite photogenic since a huge true was hanging over it. Campground's got nice amenities and a nice pool but just 6 poolbeds to go around, which are of course continuously in use. Don't get me wrong; we did have a nice stay but were just unlucky with the site I guess. It was a 30 to 40 minute walk from there to the downtown Cairns-area.

Great park with lots of trees and ammenities. Lots of room to put our camper trailer under a nice big tree. Excellent laundry facilities and the bathrooms were super clean and very nice. The swimming pool was a bit hit with the kids and electric BBQs near the pool an added bonus. Didn’t meet any staff as book in and check in was all contactless - maybe due to COVID? This wasn’t an issue- just made the whole process quicker. Thanks team!
