Stayed here for 1 week with 3 kids. Pleasantly surprised when we walked in by the size of the apartment! It was huge! Large balcony and large living room was awesome with kids. Also large kitchen with gas cook top. We cooked several meals with no issues- everything we needed was there. The view is amazing also... stating straight out at the water. Can sit and watch boats or people walking below. Also had 2 bathrooms and a full laundry which was amazing. We used the pool everyday and only saw other people in there once which was nice- not crowded. Also an amazing bbq area onsite with 2 shelters with tables. Finally, great service. Free parking was included, we were allowed an early check in, AND provided with a trundle for our 3rd child free of charge. Was appreciated. Would definitely recommend …

We stayed at the apartments for 4 nights, as a family of 6 (all kids under 5) and not only were the facilities & location were very convenient, the customer service was fantastic. Jodie was friendly and made sure all of our needs were met. The apartments were clean, modern spacious with a gorgeous balcony and an even better view. We highly recommend the Jack & Newell Apartments!! 5 stars.

If i could give no stars then i would. I booked direct with Jodie the Manager last week, for a two night stay on the weekend. I received a text message 20 minutes before check-in time saying they had double booked and i now no longer had accommodation for my family (who was sitting in the car as we filled in time before the 2pm check-in). WTF! She didn't even have the guts to make a telephone call to talk to me. So many questions.... As Cairns locals who regularly use hotels for our shopping and medical appointments, we like to share our money around, especially since times are tough now in a tourist town with Covid-19. We have NEVER in all our lives EVER been cancelled by text message anywhere! What type of establishment does that? Of course i rang to see why and "their system" had made an error and her catchphrase was "that's not the outcome we wanted". It was the outcome my kids wanted though as we drove directly to another hotel with a far superior pool where the kids spent every last minute. They LOVED it elsewhere! Can't say i would ever try going back or recommend anyone else staying here. But I can say that in sticking with the Trip Advisor rating of Terrible - Jack and Newell Cairns Holiday Apartments is Terribly run, it's manager has a Terrible attitude, they rely on a Terrible booking system and they have no qualms in treating locals in a terrible way.
