I've stayed at the other Crystalbrook hotels and was really excited to be staying here as a surprise, but I was thoroughly disappointed with my stay. First of all the pool is amazing, and the service from the staff around the pool was outstanding, can't fault them at all. But unfortunately that's all I can rave about for this stay. For two days there were no pool towels available, I can't believe the price we paid and that Riley markets itself as a 5star resort and they couldn't provide pool towels. It was even suggested we use our bathroom towels, but they weren't changing bathroom linen during our stay so that would have been ridiculous! I know Covid has made things a real challenge for everyone, but at least have a back up. Crystalbrook have 2 other hotels in town, did they not have spare towels? We were also told that they had stopped selling rooms due to the limited staffing due to covid, so couldn't the spare towels from those rooms have been used? There was also no bathroom towel changes during our stay, which meant we had to use the same damp towels the whole time. Certainly not the feeling of luxury one imagines when booking a place at this price. There were also stains on the room carpet in 3 different places, flickering lights when on relax mode, and hair in the bathroom on arrival!? Not nice. There is no way you should be marketing yourselves as a 5 star resort. I was pretty shocked to be honest.

Hotel's Favourite
What a wonderful stay! We made a very last minute change of holiday destination thanks to covid restrictions preventing us going to Adelaide and lucky for us we ended up here. This is a fabulous hotel, there is so much we loved about it, from the minute we arrived weary, late at night and were greeted by two friendly and super helpful ladies, we were happy. The hotel is luxurious and elegant but with a relaxed coastal vibe throughout. Lots of beautiful spaces inside the foyer and other indoor and outdoor spaces to lounge around very comfortably. The pool area is fabulous and usually has poolside service. Meals and drinks were reasonably priced, so we often ate right there on a sun lounge, instead of venturing out. We used the complimentary bikes to ride to the Botanical Gardens Cafe for breakfast (that's another story, coffees were good but breakfast was terrible), nonetheless it was a really fun outting and great that they don't charge for things like this. Free Sat am yoga, free water daily, too. Highly recommend the Rocco Bar on the 12th floor, it was fabulous, wonderful views, extensive drinks list and great prices at happy hour. ($12 cocktails, choice of 3). Great location on The Esplanade, great for walking to everything and close to playgrounds and the lagoon. We have loved everything about our stay and will definitely be back.

First time we have stayed at the hotel. Stayed in a sea view room with balcony. Room is spacious and clean. Shower is fantastic and bed very comfortable. Pool area is fabulous with nice pool snacks available. Staff are very welcoming especially Charlie and Natasha on reception. We originally planned to stay 3 nights but extended our stay to 6 because we love the hotel so much. Location is also ideal. Close enough for all the restaurants but just out enough to be quiet. We can’t fault the hotel at all and will definitely be back.

Stayed here for 2 nights in Room 315. It was an urban view King. I was on a corner so my room had plenty of light. Quiet location within the hotel. Good sized room. Good bathroom - shower only. Coffee pod machine. Robe & slippers etc. Free in house movies. Very limited dining for lunch - pool bar menu only. I ordered the chicken burger -out of chicken, so I went elsewhere. Went to Rocco one night and they had already stopped taking orders at 8.15 - so I had a cocktail (average) and left. In room dining is also very limited and finishes at 8pm. While there is a great pool, on the three days I went there was never a deck chair available except after 6pm. Even then, there was used plastic wear, plates and towels everywhere. The general outlook from the hotel is great. Easy to get in and out of if your travelling to any northern attractions or the airport. Reception staff were always available and friendly.

Thanks for the review Keren J, I'm glad that you enjoyed the in room facilities and amenities and appreciate your feedback with regards to our Food and Beverage offerrings. We try and give our guests as many options as possible and would love to have more outlets open more often but in the interest of service in the current conditions this is not possible. I am sorry you were unable to secure a deck chair, our pool is the heart of the resort and as such guests often spend the whole day there. We will look into ways to allow more guests to enjoy this offering. Thank you for recognising the friendliness of the Reception staff. I hope to welcome you back to Riley in the future and offer a more complete stay.

Thank you Riley for the most amazing stay for my birthday recently. From the moment we drove up the driveway, I knew we were in for a special getaway. The staff on reception (and throughout the entire hotel) just make you feel so welcome and are always smiling and so happy. Then we were told we were getting a room upgrade and this was just the icing on the cake (pardon the pun as it was my birthday that day). Walking into the Seaview Corner King Room took my breath away. Some time was spent relaxing by the beautiful pool and then onto drinks and dinner at Rocco where yet again the service was impeccable. I haven't been disappointed with any of our crystalbrook stays and will continue to only stay at Riley, Flynn and Bailey when we need accommodation in Cairns. Thank you again for making my birthday such a memorable day and night.
