Detailed Reviews
This hotel was one of only a few we had access to at short notice.
There are pluses and minuses in regards to it, however, for the price, the limitations may be ok for you and your family.
Firstly, we booked a 2 bedroom unit for us, it had a double bed, and 2 singles. The air con in the lounge and Bed 1 were fine, but bed 2 had no air con at all. The beds were ok, but not real comfortable.
We were upstairs, and the unit, though dated was adequate fro our needs.
Reception closes early, so make sure you let them know if you are arriving late. Gates to the hotel and carpark are locked after a certain time.
The bathroom is quite decrepit, cracked tiles, rusty mirror and the taps were very skewing and hard to turn on and off.
The kitchen area has a table and a couple of chairs, a fridge, microwave and various utensils. As I said, adequate.
There is a television in the lounge with Foxtel. The pool looks nice and clean.
It is situated on a major road, and on a flight path. So if you want quiet, this one isn't for you.
It did us for 2 nights.

Its a budget place therefore don't expect 5 star.
Management is very friendly.
We booked a 2 bedroom apartment for 2 weeks. 1 adult and 3 children and for the price paid you cannot complain.
Yes the place is in dying need of maintenance and renovation however it is clean.
The location is on the main highway and noise can be an issue.
I would stay again but do hope they do some much need work especially to the gutters and roof.

We are a older couple who stayed for a week and found the staff very friendly, apartment clean and serviced while we stayed. This is an older building and clearly has some reno issues but overall our stay was pleasant. If you are looking for a place without traffic noise and without a car this is not the place for you.

The Oasis Inn was a great place to stay while I travelled through Australia. Customer Care and service was extremely good from Dave and Kirsty who run this establishment. They were only to happy to give me info on local knowledge(buses into Cairns restaurants etc) or excursions to the rain forest, Great Barrier Reef or any number of trips which they can book for you. The Oasis is made up of apartments around a central pool with tables and chairs and bar-b-que area and this is well kept and cleaned every day. The apartment I had was on the upstairs level and each apartment has a table and chairs on the veranda as well as a well furnished interior. Fully equipped kitchen fridge freezer, oven and microwave. Lounge area with tv and folder including tv guide, local take away's and restaurants was very helpful. The bedroom was comfortable and extremley clean as was the bathroom with fresh towels and complimentry soap's shampoo's etc. During my stay I booked 4 excursions, including 2 rain forest, one Great Barrier Reef and a scenic rail trip. All booked and paid for through the Oasis with pick up's outside the front entrance also an early taxi pick up for the airport when I left. I found this a great place to stay as you can walk into Cairns centre along the beautiful esplanade which only takes about 25mins or get the bus out at the front of Oasis as they have a bus stop just along from the entance and coming back the bus stops directly over the road. Kirsty and the chamber maids clean and change linen and there is also a laundry with machines and drying area. I would recommend a stay here as it was very good value and a well presented establishment. Dave and Kirsty were only to happy to help with any questions I had.

I would not recommend this resort- The pictures are misleading and they are very run down motel rooms
Location is bad, you need to be nearer the main strip. We originally booked here for 4 weeks for when we arrived in cairns- we didnt even stay 1 night!!

Stayed 1 night (had booked for 7) in May 2014. From what was on computer to what you get was vast difference. The room was so basic it bordered on poverty. Dirty brown lounge with ? stains. Table bolted to floor, dirty old wood cupboards like my grandma had (and I am 64), air conditioner rusted and made LOUD noise humming noise all night, the microwave was rusting inside and unusable, beds dicey to say the least. Owners nice people but should take a good look at tourism requirement on room rental. Booked into Cairns Queensland next day $95 per night 4 star. Oasis Inn was $100 per night. I had requested a ground floor at Oasis enquired why the room was so out or order, we were told by owners that this unit was the next to be renovated. Good excuse NO NO should have been renovated years ago. SHame on you for advertising nice rooms and giving unsuspecting people cruddy accomodation. Not a good start to our holiday in Cairns.

The Oasis Inn may seem dated and in need of a facelift but we found the place way more relaxing than the five star accomadation we've used in the past. We're on holidays and the plan is to spend the least amount of time in a motel as possible.
The owner (Mike) put us directly next to the pool which was great for the kids. There's ample room and even though we slept next to a main road and under a flight path - we didn't hear a thing.
All up we spent four nights then returned a week later for one more night. The place is easy walking distance to shops and easy to find. Requests for towels etc was instantaneous and the service was great.

We stayed here two nights in July. I would not stay there another night. Whole interior was old and shabby. Very loud as it is near the main street. Regretted every minute of my stay. If something else is available, go for it!

Highly recommend the Oasis Inn, as self catering apartments go, it's pretty much spot on. Be prepared to walk 20 minutes to get to the city (a very nice walk down the esplanade I would suggest) (or get the bus!). Dave the owner was superb, booked and willingly offered his opinion on the tours we took. All of which were great. Good value for money and would happily stay again. Thanks!

The Oasis inn was well located to cairns city. The rooms clean and comfortable. Management was excellent and was there to help us in anyway possible. They also organise your trips you want to do at no extra charge. By having all these services provided for us made our holiday extremely enjoyable and relaxing..To management and staff thank you very much.

I recommend taking a taxi cab. There is a taxi rank outside the terminal. There are usually cars there but if not then use the direct line telephone also located at the taxi rank.
It costs about $20 for a normal cab and it takes just 10 minutes to get to the Oasis Hotel. If you have five or more passengers then you will need a “maxi taxi”. For the maxi the cost is about $30.
