Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I there at 9 pm. On hotels.com homepage it said that it’s open at the reception until midnight. All dark. I had to pay to call hotels.com to have them helping me. He put me on hold when he was trying to call chermside apartments. I was calling from a danish phone to Austral. Expensive Finally hotels.com got back to me saying that I had to call Chermside myself. Again an expensive call. Chermside did not pick up the phone until after 8 minutes. Then I had to inform them about my credit card as they wanted a 250 aus deposit. During that conversation my bag got stolen. Then I got the key to a room which was already paid for. The next morning there were no soap in the bath. Breakfast was ok but VERY basic. Cereal and bread, and fruit lemonade and tea, coffee. I should use the laundry facilities. Put money into the washer. No reaction from the washing machine except it stole my money but it did NOT start tried to call hotels.com as there were NO people at the reception. They just told me I had to wait until the next day. I told them that I would be leaving the next morning. That is the best I can do. My answer: That is not acceptable. Is there anything else I can help you with. My answer was you haven’t helped me at all. That is the best I can do (have you heard those sentences as well?) So the next morning I had spent time and money on the washing machine incl soap. Just too bad. I talked to 5 other guests and their experience was just as bad I suggest you go some place else and choose a good hotel

Worst customer service ever, do not book with this place, they just make their own rules up and charge you what they want after you book. This is what’s wrong with the world places like this. The rooms are unclean and horrible

We booked for 2 nights, left within 4 hours of booking in. A terrible smell was coming from the bathroom, manager said she will pour more chemicals down the drains to hide the smell. We declined this as we didn't want to deal with a chemical smell on top of whatever the putrid smell was, which caused headaches. The room was nothing like the advertisement- queen bed & mattress topper. It was 2 single beds pushed together & were stained and stunk. The springs popped and mattress was sunken in. No topper at all. Mould all through the shower and including the body wash dispenser. The hand towel was stained. Filthy cutlery and mugs, stale coffee, broken fridge, bin not empty. Carpets are worn, sliding doors were not locked, bloodied snot on the wall. The manager said she's not sure how that got there, that the room had been cleaned a month ago. Looking down from the dirty patio, the grounds are unkept and the rubbish, including cleaning cloths and linen are amongst the overgrown grass. The night safe does not need a code to get in/out of it. So make sure you take a photo of you leaving the key in the box. States free secured parking, maybe 20 parking spaces and anyone is free to walk in and out of there from the street. The reception were polite, but the female manager needs some training on how to manage a company and how to be a decent human being. We were not given a different room & left 4 hours after and have not received our full redund or booking deposit. This place needs to be shut down and that manager needs to go. I will be going to QLD Health in regards to many of the issues had at this feral place. Do yourself a favour and book elsewhere. Read not just these reviews, but on google and anywhere else. I wish we had of, as it would have saved us the stress and inconvenience and being treated rudely by that female manager.

We had an enjoyable experience staying at the Chermside Apartments, they're conveniently located about 100 metres from Westfield's next door to McDonald's and easy walking distance to other eateries it can be a little noisy being near a couple of main roads but with the large glass door to the balcony closed it was fine, the staff were always friendly and helpful, they provided free continental breakfast for hotel guests and the local community which was quite nice. The room was reasonably well appointed but there were a couple minor issues which impacted our enjoyment, the block out curtains only covered two thirds of the windows making privacy an issue, the bed had a very thin blanket which wasn't sufficient on a cold winter's night and the sinks had no plugs meaning you had to wash or shave with the taps running being somewhat wasteful, would probably stay again especially if the minor issues were resolved.

so i tried to cancel my booking even though i pressed the free cancelation button and they are still trying to get payment. i explained to them that my plans have changed. im a struggling single mum going through quite a bit at the moment and cant get there. the lady on the phone was quite rude. had i have known this i certaintly would not have booked.going by the reviews they havnt got a good vibe from here. im hoping they will do the right thing.yes mistakes happen but now im stressed about this money they are trying to get out of my account. i am happy to remove this review if they can do the right thing and have some compassion.

I will start by saying that the staff are nice and friendly. Everything was great on check in. However!!! This place is not clean at all. It is an absolute dive and I would not send my worst enemy to stay there. We had two nights booked and left the hotel after the first night. We would not have stayed there the first night but we were there late with a toddler and had no other choice at that time. I bought up the issues with staff and it seemed like they had heard it all before. I’d go to a cheap motel before booking this ever again.

Rooms are nothing like the images shown on the website. Our bathroom had mould on the ceiling and smelled so bad we had to buy candles to burn 24/7 in there. See pic below. Kitchen and living area is fine and goo size balcony in our room. . Staff were great and location good but would not stay again. Warm weather in April in Brisbane but pool was so cold you could not swim. Think it says heated on the website - it ain't!

Wasn’t in the room for an hour and had already killed 4 cockroach, the furniture is absolutely disgusting I’m not sure where they got the beautiful photos on the advertisement but it sure wasn’t in our room!!! Bed looked as it had already been slept in, sofas falling apart toilet seat too small for toilet and toilet lid literally has to rest on your back while sitting on the toilet! We paid over $1000 for this accommodations and I am completely furious!!! No lock on sliding door!!

The room old and tired had cockroach infestation. The critters came out around the kitchenette area in great numbers at night. The room and maybe the apartment in general need to be fumigated to eradicate the critter infestation. A sliding door to the balcony could not lock. Location is great nearby and walking distance to the mall. The staff helpful and friendly.
