Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After a 4 hour drive to Brisbane you want a good experience in the city. On arrival the front desk lady was unable to help with the parking. I normally stay at the Holiday Inn, which has a set price of $25 a day. The Holiday Inn staff do something to the ticket that allows you to come and go with a set daily fee. I then asked a different person at the Ibis front desk what happens if you go out to dinner. She took my ticket and did something on the computer saying my set daily rate was $20. The next morning I booked out at 7 am after trying to get breakfast. The breakfast restaurant was full and you pay $30 per person unlike the Holiday Inn. The manager on the front desk insisted I pay $40 for my parking saying each exit is $20. She billed $40 from my card proving no receipt of my stay. Did not ask for the key card, so I had to return. No points on my app and no record of my visit. You should feel welcome at a hotel. The front desk was cold with no interest in trying to help. This hotel is not value for money as a single night with parking is $310 excluding food. You can find a much better deal in Brisbane with friendly staff. I will never stay in an Ibis hotel again. The staff are an important part of the hospitality industry and should know how to assist with parking when coming from another city. Cold as ice.

Overall stay was ok. Drove 4 hrs to check in early which was offered. Booked this accomodation over 18 months ago, I am sure the prices were inflated just for this weekend due to the event. Checkin was a nightmare. You need to put more staff on when there are major events. The poor staff was under the pump and the rooms were not ready at the designated times. Baggage was everywhere in the foyer as people had no where to go. People were lined up outside the premises for hours. Offering upgrades and early checkin a couple of days prior and not being able to fulfil was disappointing. Don’t offer upgrades when its simply not available. Having a major event - Pink, you need to be more organised.

Ibis Styles Brisbane Elizabeth Street is a very well priced CBD hotel. Centrally located right next door to the Elizabeth Street entrance to UPTOWN Brisbane, buses at door or under the shopping centre, taxis rank next street over. We have stayed a number of times now, each time a lovely experience. Staff are welcoming and professional. A range of room, king, queen, and twin (single) are available offering city or river view. Air con issues on first day were quickly sorted by the manager. We ate in a lot, a good range of foods, very reasonably priced and very quick to arrive. Happy hour each arvo. Breakfast offers a good range. Love the vibe here in Social Restaurant. The rooms are small, beautifully decorated and have everything you need. Very comfortable rooms, air con is good (issues with this were sorted very promptly by management). Free movies (new releases too) are a bonus. We are booked in again for March.

Overall awful experience, didn’t even stay the night. Walked in and the aircon was so cold it immediately didn’t feel comfortable. Everyone was checking in at the same time and very little staff so queues were long. We were given a disabled accessible room despite not booking this and booking 6 months in advance (would understand if we booked last minute). We called reception and asked to move and they said there wasn’t anything else available. The bathroom was so dirty, blind was disgusting and shower curtain was vile. Overall room felt dirty and smelt cheap. Appreciate the room was cheap and definitely didn’t expect luxury but equally didn’t expect it to be uncomfortable. We ended up booking into the Hyatt round the corner last minute and checked out. When we checked out I explained to the staff member that the room wasn’t what we expected and I’ll be making a complaint. She didn’t ask what was wrong and make me feel like she cared, she just said “sorry”. I have submitted a complaint and waiting to hear back.

Everything about this hotel was top class. There was even free fairy floss in the foyer on NYE! The location, especially the river-view rooms, is superb. The fireworks were right there on New Years Eve.

Thank goodness the hotel was in a good location because there was nothing else to commend it. The rooms were small and pokey. There was only one guest laundry for the entire hotel, and staff were found to be using it.wash the bed linen. Hotel not up to scratch.

This is a fabulous hotel in a great location. Very close to shops , restaurants the casino and Southbank. As a Gold Accor member we got a great upgrade to a corner view room which is a little larger than the standard room. Very comfortable bed and good bathroom . Note that as it’s an Ibis there’s limited bathroom supplies. We had the buffet breakfast in the morning which was very nice . Really fantastic staff here too very friendly and helpful. You can often book this hotel at quite a good price point too. My hotel of choice in Brisbane for an overnight stay . Thanks to the team .

This hotel is very basic. If you have a bad back don’t stay here. No comfortable chairs in the room or the ‘restaurant’. Food was mediocre, the so called restaurant was a charmless room with plastic furniture. Never in a hotel have I had room service food delivered in takeaway boxes. Could not fault the staff very helpful and friendly. We would not stay here again.

This hotel was adequate; however, I do not feel it deserved to be rated 4 stars. Our room was very small, the bathroom was cramped and the only toiletry provided was a hand soap, body wash, shampoo combination. We spent 3 weeks in Australia/New Zealand, and the 4-star hotels in every other city were vastly superior. The hotel is well located and the rooms were clean. I would recommend it as a 3-star property.
