Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After driving from the Sunshine Coast with family and finding no office just a mobile number on a sign out front I was informed by the owner that he had no space for me due to a water accident in a room and that he informed Agoda 1 week before that my booking was cancelled.the owner blamed Agoda. The owner said he would try and call them. The owner called me back 10 mins later and said he was still on hold and that in his experience with Agoda it can take a long time to get through.....no more help was forthcoming. I phoned Agoda and with 6 mins my call was taken and was advised that the only email they had from this accomodation was 30 minutes ago! Agoda found me alternate accomodation within 30 minutes.👍 While I did not get a good look inside Ascot Executive apartment the outside was old and tired, empty beer bottles and ashtrays out the front of the rooms.Do not stay here.

Dirty, broken, not looked after. We stayed here three years ago and found it nice. Little did we realise that the owners haven't spent a cent on it since. We're staying in the double, the larger unit that fronts racecourse road. For a place that is advertised as suitable for four people there are; two mismatched wine glasses, one small glass, one medium glass, a mixed bag of crockery and cutlery, dirty curtains, no netting curtains (so you have curtains closed or everyone can see inside from the busy street outside), the worst double bed with a broken mattress (no mattress should have a 40 degree list), a fridge that wobbles and has no light, a washing machine that you can't open because of the dryer that is waiting to fall into it... There's heaps more but you get the picture. A convenient location...

This was quite simply the worst accomodation I have ever stayed in. On arrival the apartment was dirty from previous occupants. It took over an hour after contact for the apartment to be "cleaned". There was only a change of sheets and now products used to clean any surfaces and then given a quick vacuum. This should have told me instantly to cancel straight away but as it was late afternoon we decided to stay. On further inspection there were greater problems! - towel rails ripped from wall - dirty curtains (extremely dirty) - bedroom door handle broken - broken bed - dated and well past its expiry furniture. When contacting the property manager he was pleasant enough and refunded the remainder of our stay. There is no way that this should be allowed to be booked through a booking website until it is brought up to standard. And to think some rated this above extremely poor is shocking or downright dodgy. My advice is to pay a little extra and stay elsewhere. Photos are attached for you to see the true state this place was in when we arrived.

We drove from Valla Beach to Brisbane and arrived around 6pm. Followed instructions to locate the key and, after a quick call to the owner, got the free Wi Fi sorted. As this was just an overnight stay, we didn't unpack so can't really comment on the wardrobes/drawers etc., but there was plenty of room for both couples. We had a clean bathroom each with plenty of toiletries and the beds were also spotless so that was all we needed. The location is good for quick food shopping and a short walk away from bars and restaurants. Didn't trouble the cooker so not sure about cooking utensils but there were only 3 mugs which was not a major problem for us although might be an issue if you were staying more than one night. It did the job for us as it was easy for the airport - not bad for the price.

Fridge stank, washing machine lid couldn't be opened due to dryer being placed to low. Woodwork rotten, wifi didn't work, wardrobes filthy with dust. To add insult to injury there was a huge cockroach in my shoe when I got up. There were also small cockroaches in both bathrooms. We were 2 couples but there was only a dirty lounge to seat 2 people; not acceptable! Not worth the money we paid. Place should be renamed and the "Exec" removed from the title!

I arrived after dark to find NO office only a telephone number on a sign out the front.I phone the number only to be told because you booked through Agoda we could not get hold of you.how is that my problem.I am given a pin code to the key safe by the front door.no lights outside only my phone to provide light. Inside the executive apartment would have been decorated in the 70s fans were dirty mattress was hard and no wifi no internet password anywhere to be found. Do not waste money staying at this motel, plenty more to choose from down the road.

Stayed with friends overnight. The actual living area was mostly clean & tidy, with the actual areas most used & seen good. However some details let down the overall experience and it's definitely not "Executive" - Glue marks on bathroom tiles where something had come off and not bothered to be addressed - wife commented when she got into shower it didn't feel very clean underfoot - very dusty in upstairs "study area - windows particularly covered in noticeable film of dust inside & out - Gardens definitely need TLC - looks like no one has paid them any attention for months - one bar of soap for four people??? - no tea or coffee (stated that on website, however most similar units DO have tea & coffee. Small supermarket very handy, but not open all hours, so it is an issue for late comers/early starters) - Wife went to use a second pillow from wardrobe to find it without a cover and grotty - No onsite reception to sort out issues (see below) The good points - - Plenty of space - Two bathrooms - one for each bedroom - Good location with supermarket, restaurants chemist and bottleshop very handy (but NOT within easy walking distance from the cruise terminal if you have luggage) - Reasonable rates - Good sized kitchen if want to cater for yourself One other point - they do not accept American Express even though booking sites say so. We were advised of this later - apparently this was in the confirmation email, but we had left home before I read it. Was subsequently charged an extra $20 "Collection Fee"

I booked this 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment through Trivago. Upon arrival the key was in a coded key box and all was neat clean and tidy. Brilliant location - straight across the road from shops and cafes and a stone's throw to the Brisbane river. However several things were not ok: No tea towels; hinges missing from a cupboard, ceiling fan switches broken; drawers that stuck, lampshade in bedroom 2 looked like it had done 3 rounds with Mike Tyson; no soaps in either bathroom; ants having a nightly party on the kitchen bench; and basin taps that had two settings: OFF and fire-hose spray; bed linen was an unusual collection of thin quilts and these pieces of brown material sewn into rectangles and placed across the bed to "look the part" but once you got between the sheets it became abundantly clear they were serving no useful purpose. But overall we had a good stay and liked the location - we were away from the apartment most of the time anyway. At $1180 for 5 nights it offered pretty good value for money which meant we had more to spend on shopping and sightseeing. I would stay again but suggest that the owners give the room we were in a bit more of a makeover.

Great communication from staff good location to airport and restaurants and not a far drive to the food market on Fri/sat night that I highly recommend. Unfortunately the units are'nt exec .. No coffee, tea or anything, ashtray not emptied on outside table, bedside lamps need to go.. And sheets were pretty threadbare. So ok for overnighter but would prob look elsewhere for that price for any longer due to bedding as this is important to me.
