Great location, meticulously cleaned by friendly cleaning staff. Great shower, comfortable bed.
A lot of great cafes and restaurants nearby.
Despite the area being in a night life area,it was reasonably quiet.
Staff wore masks which was good and hand sanitizer available on each floor
I'll recommend to others and intend to stay here again soon when I am next in Brisbane.

From the booking flexibility to the check-out, best hotel in Brisbane. The pricing was correct, the rooms were huge (with great SPA), fantastic room lights, the room can be blinded completely dark. Billy T. was by far the best host, and helpful for many elements on our Brisbane trip. thanks a lot, our new home away from home in Brisbane!

The staff and Hotel overall were great. They have done a good job with the conversion from old building to modern Hotel. The room I had was quite small and fine for 1 person and would expect it to be larger or a small balcony for the price paid.
Free minibar was a great touch.

My partner and I stayed at this hotel after struggling to find any accommodation in the city that wasn’t more than $350 or sold out (the next option was the backpackers at about $100 a night).

The stay was a short layover from our third international flight.

We arrived about 8:00pm and checked in before getting the elevator to our room up on the second floor. As we arrived, the elevator doors opened and I could immediately hear the pub’s music and noise next door. Now, granted we stayed on a Saturday night, however as we walked up the hallway, the music level only increased. It didn’t bode well as we reached the outside of our room.

After swiping the key and getting inside, we found the music was even louder than in the hallway (the room bordered the outside of the building, facing the pub).

The room’s furnishings were very basic for the price and was missing a hairdryer. We rang reception who said they’d bring one up if they could find a spare, however it was to no avail.
20 minutes later they rang and advised us they were fresh out.

Tired and hungry, we decided to get some delivery food to hotel and dull the ever increasing disappointment.
Sadly our souls were crushed a little further when we discovered the only cutlery available was a couple of teaspoons in the draws.
It certainly made eating my noodles interesting…

We climbed onto the bed and perceived it to be another let down for the cost. The pillows were uninspiringly soft, along with the mattress. At least the sheets were clean, so that was something.

My partner and I attempted to gain some much needed sleep after 22 hours in the air, however could hear cars revving in the street and people yelling “yeeewwwl” on the odd occasion, in addition to what seemed like an ever increasing level of noise from next door’s watering hole.

We decided to turn on the TV and try drown out noise, how this was another fruitless effort. The TV remote provided two functions, on and off. We were unable to get past the home screen every time it turned on and eventually gave up.

Now exhausted, I dug some ear plugs out of my bag in a final attempt to get some blissful slumber, succeeding a few after hours later.
I woke again at 2:30 AM, when the volume level had increased past 11, making my ear plugs pretty much null and void.
I was finally granted some sweet relief when the music stopped at 3:00 AM and dosed back off.

We checked out a few hours later to catch our final domestic flight, somehow feeling even more tired than when we arrived.

To say I was pissed off would be an understatement.

The ironic thing about the whole experience is we’d probably would of slept better at the backpackers for three quarters less of the cost.

I don’t recommend, particularly on a weekend.

Room located next to a night club, music did not stop until 2 or 3am when club closed. Am ok with general noise but this felt like I was in the club. Maybe consider double glazing windows or sound proofing

Hi Michellegoolker, Thank you for taking time on leaving us a review. We are sadden to see that your stay with us was gravely affected by the noise coming from our neighbouring club and pub. The hotel has noise dampening facilities like double glazing and even thick glazing windows on all of our hotel rooms however due to close proximity to the pub and club, the noise is still penetrating the hotel. This does not stop us on finding alternative ways to ensure this situation won't happen again in the long run. Should you decide to stay with us again, we will absolutely take care of your stay to ensure this situation won't happen again. Kind regards, Ronn Rellis Front Office Supervisor

An unhappy and hot stay, when you sweat in a $400 a night room there is something wrong. Overall it really is a place that values style over substance. I have let the hotel know of the various issues we had and can only hope they take these onboard for their next guests!

The Constance will be loved by people who enjoy vibrant bright colours. The room was very clean and everything felt new. It is tiny, however very dark as the window is blocked out by a permanent black blind. The bed was comfortable and fine for a couple wanting a funky room for the night in the middle of fortitude valley. The room has no cupboard, no ironing board, no extra blankets, no coffee mugs, milk or water. The room has a mini bar however no guest guide explaining what you may or may not use. The fridge had milk however not sure if free to use. The telephone in the room does not work however reception provided a card to phone them.

The bathroom is big and clean however the shower has no pressure. The water was warm and the items provided were good. It would be great if the room had somewhere to put your suitcase instead of on the floor. The TV needs to be pulled out from the wall which is fine if you are tall, however was not used as the internet seemed ok. 7mb which might work with Netflix on an iPad or tablet.

Would I return to stay again? No. Would a young couple enjoy it? Yes, if they wanted something really different near the Dirty Sultan, pubs and the night life. Fortunately no loud music on a week night.

The hotel has no restaurant and no place to eat breakfast. No food service and is a few blocks from the Main Street with food.

This was a businesses trip, so not at my expense. Next time I will request somewhere for someone older wanting a nice view of the city.

The experience was not terrible, just not my taste. An honest review.

Hey there SeanU38! Thank you for leaving us such detailed and honest feedback. We appreciate your taking the time to leave us a review, especially seeing as you are such an experienced reviewer on Trip Advisor! I apologise that our communication could have been better upon check-in, as we do offer some of the features you were questioning. There are remote controls for the blinds on the desk, ironing boards under the beds, blankets available on request, dual purpose glassware for coffee and / or colder drinks in the rooms, in addition to water and milk in the fridge. We do place a minibar price list near the coffee machines as well, though it sounds like we may have missed this with your room. I have spoken with the team to ensure we are providing more detailed information to our guests on check-in. I am also sorry for the problems you experienced with the water pressure and the phone. This has been logged with our maintenance team to ensure it does not happen again. In saying that I am glad you could appreciate our property for the quirky boutique hotel it is. We pride ourselves on being a bit different and a lot out there, so while we may not have been your cup of tea, we definitely enjoyed having you with us for a good night's sleep. If you do ever need another brightly coloured room for the night, we are here for you! Kindest regards, Niki S Front Office Manager

I paid $360 for a room so expected a good boutique hotel feel. It had the terrace which was basic as all hell. The room and bathroom were decent, lovely reception staff, but this was not worth $360 at all.

I was unable to sleep as there is an outdoor nightclub directly under the window. No soundproofing what so ever or if there was it was really lacking.

If you like your privacy in a room when you have the curtains open then forget it, too many buildings looking down into your room.

“Breakfast” was also included but was not provided by the hotel, you got a $20 voucher to spend at a cafe where your basic breakfast would have been at least $30 in cost with a coffee.

This place is a shambles. Avoid it at all costs! So overrated and overpriced!

I spent three nights at the Constance and had a wonderful and relaxing stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. Upon arrival the receptionist changed my room so that I would be away from the noise of the bar below and I very much appreciated that. The room was arty and so clean!!! I enjoyed my breakfast at the Rose Cafe each morning! Thank you for a lovely stay

Hello, $25 over night parking through motel (Aug15). I do not know what the car park costs but assume it would be more if you do not go through the motel. Also (added advantage) you do not have to do the parking separately it can be added to your bill. They just give you a pass to get out. :) Easy !
