Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

To begin with absolutely abysmal communication. Good luck if you need late check in, they don’t reply to emails. I tried to refund through Agoda who were equally as useless because I wasn’t sure I’d even have a room to check into arriving late. Finally get hold of someone. Arrive to find the door to my room wide open. The fridge wide open. Finally get to bed and get woken up three times by people yelling/arguing so close I got up to check my door was shut and locked. Would never stay here again for all the tea in china.

We chose to stay here as it was close to the Doomben train station (we were coming from Roma St long distance trains) and close to the international cruise terminal. Lots of options in the area to eat out or grab groceries. The room itself was comfortable enough, good water pressure and hot water. To flag as well, the Doomben train station was closed on Sundays and public holidays, so factor this into your plans. There are multiple bus stops along the street though as an alternative.

Very basic motel. The rooms were relatively clean however one of our windows wouldn’t close as the window frame wasn’t aligned with the wall. This would be an issue if it rained. TV selection was basic however you’re getting what you paid for. Didn’t use the pool however it looked clean as did the barbecue area. Very limited parking on “first in best dressed” availability. Once you’ve parked I wouldn’t go out in the evening or you’d have to park down the street somewhere.

The room was very dated and extremely basic. The floor was dirty and noisy from the other rooms in the complex. Right from check in we were made to feel like we were in the way of what they wanted to do. No helpful information nothing. There is a microwave and toaster in the room but no plates or cutlery. Couldn't wait to leave .

Staff was unhelpful, bordering on rude. Would not allow luggage storage at any price. Would not consider a ground level room unless you had a pet. Rooms very noisy and planes flying very low for hours during the night. Will not book there again.

I booked a night with Airway Motel a month in advance (on the 29th of November) to stay on the 26th of December. But when I landed in Brisbane at 10:45pm, I realized that I received an email at 10:21pm, saying that my booking was cancelled “because of an invalid credit card”! They put my card through only the night of my arrival and cancelled my booking! I realized I didn’t have enough money for the transaction to go through, but a simple transfer would have worked very quickly if I had been warned at least a few days before, and not minutes before I landed. So after a 24h flight and a 2 day trip from France, I was stranded at the airport and had to spend the night there, as hotels were fully booked and it was too late to book online somewhere else for this night. This way of dealing with bookings and customers is disgraceful and I will definitely never book again a night at Airway Motel.

First the good. This motel offers a rare and cheap pet friendly accommodation option, with no silly restrictions, in a close-to-city location. It's also handy for the races at either Doomben or Eagle Farm and not too far from the airport. There is also a pleasant pool area to the rear. Now the bad. We didn't get much sleep at all due to very unruly male residents in the back units, neither remotes for the aircon or TV were working and there was very minimal kitchen equipment.

At $72 for a night, this was great value. Perhaps only a double bed and small room, but everything available such as microwave, toaster, iron to name a few. Pool was closed unfortunately. Woolworths a block away, bowling club with restaurant just over the road and if you love horseraces, close to both Brisbane tracks. Beautiful outdoor area made up for small room.

The room was nice and clean and up to date. Wifi didn’t work. TV kept cutting out. Kids wanted to go to the pool so we went around back. A lot of sketchy, what seem to be longer term residents there. A lot of door slamming and swearing. A woman came and sat in the fenced pool area beside the pool but didn’t want the kids playing near her or coming anywhere near her even though their things were on the chair next to her. She started smoking and mumbled “this is where i die...by suicide”. Rounded the kids up went back to the room. That night, a woman must have been drunk and started abusing, screaming and swearing at everyone, especially management. The whole motel seemed to get involved. This woman went on to scream about drugs and prostitution at the motel. This went on for over an hour before police and paramedics showed up and took her away. The rest of the night was quiet except for a few odd convos and door slams. Never again.

I booked direct for a 1 night stay after my 14 day covid isolation after returning from overseas. People were lovely and the room was great. Everything I needed before my flight to Cairns. There is a Woolworths in walking distance where I grabbed some food and supplies. It is a Motel not a Hotel and was more than adequate for my stay I would recommend it if you are looking for a spacious quiet room for the night or a base for a few days.
