Detailed Reviews
My partner and I spent 8 nights, due to him having to stay in Greenslopes hospital for 3 nights and having to stay 5 days after the op. The staff were very helpful, would answer any question you might have had.
The room was clean and comfortable, shower head was a bit of a bother til I got used to it. The kitchen, well I was afraid to cook as it said the smoke alarms were very sensitive and would entail a $1500. fee if it went off. The microwave worked well, but no microwave safe dishes provided, so mainly frozen dinners used. Very close to Fortitude Valley and the City.

I loved this motel. I was just out of hospital for spinal surgery. The bed was sooo very comfortable and the pillows excellent. I wish I could have stayed here longer. The young man at reception was so accommodating. The room was clean and huge, with kitchenette, large fridge. The chocolates on the bed just made the most painful excruciating day into something pleasant. My words can not begin to express my appreciation and gratitude..

Was the perfect spot for my overnight stay in Brisbane -Needed to leave my vehicle there early in the day & staff were so helpful in opening the carpark & letting me in well before check in time -Really appreciated that ! Loved the fact the parking was also not an extra cost like so many don't tell you about .Was able to walk down the road for a nice Asian meal later that evening .Room was spotless & will definitely be back for another stay

Booked a King Bed room for one night in advance, just my husband and I.
We arrived for check in and I was told by the reception staff they needed to double check they had the right credit card details, and then said it was in case "we have a party and trash the room". Wow, okay - really offensive and unprofessional but I guess this is not a 5 star hotel so you don't get a professional greeting?
Anyway we checked in, parked the car (free parking included - that was good) and went to our room. Only to find it was not a king room but a twin room with two single beds. I double checked my booking (yes it was mean to be a king) and went back downstairs. I told the receptionist and she said nothing, looked confused, looked at the computer, and then looked at a piece of paper for a few minutes. She then went and spoke to house keeping (all the while having not said a word to me) and came back to tell me housekeeping would fix it. They came up later to join the beds together.
As for the room itself, shower head is awful but the room was clean and acceptable. There is a big sign saying lock the balcony door so I guess they have had break ins in the past.
Location is good with access to the Mowbray Park ferry stop only a few minutes walk.

Response from Wellington Hotel, Owner at Wellington Apartment Hotel
Responded 8 Mar 2020
I am extremely sorry that your check in experience was not of our trained high standard that is expected from our staff. It is very disappointing to read your review and I assure you that this will be followed up with the staff member in question. It is our policy to always communicate with guests and make them feel welcomed on arrival. I am saddened this has not been the case with your stay. I am happy to hear that once the bedding was corrected, you found the room clean and acceptable as well as our position close to the city cat ferry. I do hope you would choose to give the hotel a second chance if you were needing to stay in Brisbane again. Be sure to contact myself direct and we can offer a free upgrade to a city view room. We enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Wellington Apartment Hotel. Bed was comfortable, shower had good pressure and the room was clean and spacious. The salt water pool was good and the location great. The Thai Boi restaurant in the building was excellent and we dined there twice. Would have rated our stay 5 stars had the staff been friendlier. The male who was behind reception on the weekend never acknowledged us when we passed by, in fact he slunk down behind the computer screen to avoid making eye contact and the blond haired woman who we also saw several times was much the same. The only friendly one was an Asian lady who when we spoke to her was very generous with a late checkout. Nevertheless we would happily stay again.

As we arrived a little after 4pm and left just before 8am the following day we didn't actually meet the staff as the desk was not staffed at those times. But the process of getting our key was easy so there weren't any issues.
Our room was a good size and even though it didn't look anywhere near as modern as the photos it was very comfortable. Our bed, although comfortable, was a little smaller than Queen size.
Our room faced the street and became a little noisy with the early morning traffic. Our friends were staying out the back area and had no traffic noise at all though.
The location suited our needs this time but we wouldn't stay there again unless we needed to be near by. Having said that, it is quite handy to the GABBA.
PS, the pub across there road was well worth a visit.

The hotel receptionist was lovely when wotif had mixed up our booking dates and was able to squeeze us in, however the rooms weren’t like they were advertised. overall happy we stayed but wished we had what we saw in the ad. The tv had limited viewing and the shower head was small, dirty and definitely not a rainfall shower head.

Super fun place to hang your hat for a bit. Spacious rooms with a huge fridge and kitchen to prepare meals. The bed was comfortable and we had a wonderful sleep. The location was convenient and central to everything. The pool was refreshing and this place offers on site laundry facilities. Staff was A++++++

Stayed here for a couple of months for work nearby. Had a great reception from staff. very friendly, helpful and inviting. Which remained throughout my visit, nothing was too much trouble, always helpful. Room was perfect, city skyline view at night from the balcony was great. Room facilities gave me all I needed for cooking and storage. Cleanliness was outstanding across whole property. Car parking secure. I love early morning walks and this was an easy stretch to the river for exercise. I think they even ordered perfect weather for me. Great hotel, well done 😊

Great quiet room with kitchenette and free parking. Reasonable rates, friendly helpful check-in staff and handy to ferries and buses to the city. Ideal for our quick overnight visit for a night out in BrisVegas, will happily re-book in future.
