Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The room assigned to me on the 6th floor was gross! No detail to cleaning. Mold on the curtains, the bed linen smelly & mold on ceiling, around aircon ducts & in bathroom. After relaying my concerns, I was moved to the 7th floor which was a little bit better though still mold in the shower & a bit smelly. They did say they’d had trouble with water leaking to rooms! However still placed me in a damp smelly room! The lamps in the rooms were old and decaying and stained. It’s clear no one checks the rooms before guests arrive. I will never stay here ever again. I purchased 2 rooms costing me $888.

Ok. Room curtains filthy, bathroom mould, lampshade worn. General basic maintenance and upgrades required beyond being able to clean with bleach. Restaurant never answered Phone for room service. Very tired and dated, major renovations required.

I booked on what I thought was the Mantra website, however the site was guest reservations mimicking the Mantra website. I then paid/scammed $400 more for the room than if I booked on the mantra website and was unable to get a refund. Upsetting to know the Mantra accepts bookings from these companies when they are there to scam the customer. When we arrived the room didn't have a 5th bed. The dishwasher didn't work. 2 days into the stay it was kind of repaired, however the maintenance person left a mess. The clothes dryer sounded like it was going to explode. The walls had marks and the bathrooms needed its grout have a good clean. The rooms smelt musty. The rooms didn't get serviced so rubbish piled up. When I asked for room service I was informed it depends on the rate I'm on - this after I paid $400 more then the mantra website.

Great restaurant. Food was very nice and well priced. Staff were attentive and very helpful. Pillows very comfortable and rooms clean and large. Overall a great place to stay. Happy to recommend. Convenient location. Parking is a bit difficult but they have valet parking

The staff were very friendly and the location was great. I was disappointed that the toiletries were all watered down, including the hand soap. The curtain also needed a wash and the kitchen sink pipes were a bit smelly after you'd turned on the water. For the price I paid I was expecting the room to feel less budget than it did.

Our overall experience is based on “service” from the staff… a room is a room, as long as it is clean and tidy, with a comfortable bed, air conditioning that works and good water pressure. The Mantra Southbank BNE is a budget hotel, it only takes a smile to give it a five star feeling .

We have stayed here twice now and even though (I don't think) it's an up to date hotel, well the rooms are a little tired, this is a great location for Brisbane City. The rooms are basic & clean but have everything that you need. If you do need anything then convenience stores are on your doorstep, as well as cafes & restaurants. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The pool is small but great for a 'dip', it didn't feel heated. You only have the cross the road to cafes & restaurants and to the main Southbank district and to City Beach. The hotel offers parking which you do get charged for ($40 per night), considering you're in the City and other parking sites might charge less at least you know your car is secure and there's no delay when they bring it out to you. Once you're booked in, you don't need to worry about anything apart from what to explore.

Great Location. BUT for $500p/n... - The aircon in the bedrooms weren't good enough. Had to get Pedestal fans. - Two tiny spiders ran out of pillows - So much mould near the bottom of the fridge - TV's don't support live streaming apps - No sharp knives or scissors in the kitchen - No oven safety switch (my 1 yr old kept turning it on)

The location was great in the centre of Sth Bank, however, not too happy with the room for a $355 p/n charge. Shower over bath was too small to safely turn around in and leaked water over the floor, toilet seat was too small for bowl and dispensers ran out on the last day of our stay. Balcony very untidy, probably wouldn't stay here again.

Great family hotel . Pros: Great location near South Bank Gardens and Streets Beach. Wide variety of eateries, cinemas next door. Great location for young families. 1 & 2 bedrooms are clean and spacious. Even better if you have a city view room. Service provided by Ngon was exceptional. Breakfast downstairs at Ovello was very good. I'm usually a fan of buffets for breakfast but I feel I had the best a la carte breakfasts I have ever had at an Accor property in Australia or NZ. Great options, unique spin on classics, excellent service. Reasonable valet car parking charge. Great gym and pool. Cons: Weak Air Con with 2 bedroom units. Struggled to breath in the furthest room. 1 bedroom was fine. For the rate we paid ($300+), daily housekeeping was not provided. The first time I have ever had such an issue at an Accor property (and I have stayed at over 30 different Accor properties over the years). Lost items. We left a ring and a unique charger in our room. As we had to change rooms part way through our stay, when we asked house keeping to retrieve the items, they could not find. I feel these items were stolen. We left quite sad this was the case. No room service available. Ovello restaurant only available for breakfast. Partly acknowledged Platinum status. No complimentary room upgrade given. Regardless of the above, would like to thank Ngon for his help during our stay.
