Many travelers commend Mantra South Bank Brisbane for its pristine rooms and prime location that's within easy reach of dining and attractions, although concerns about the rooms being outdated and not thoroughly clean have been raised. While the staff's friendliness is often praised, some guests note room service and maintenance could be more prompt.
The hotel's atmosphere and amenities are generally appreciated, yet the additional charges and perceived lack of value leave some guests feeling the hotel is overpriced.

This is a very good property. It was booked due to proximity to the entertainment center. The room was of very good size, comfy bed, plus included a fridge that worked , kitchenette with a microwave. There is no balcony, however as the window opens, fresh air is available. The AC worked very well. The bathroom is shower only, and very clean. No issues with the wifi. There is a pool, but this was not used.
Check in was effortless. We availed both breakfast and valet parking. I feel that the breakfast menu ( no self serve here ) was a bit limited however was adequate. Hindsight says that you will likely have some disappointment as you are limited in what you order before incurring additional charges. Valet parking is an oddity, and at cost. If a first time visitor confusing is an understatement. We called the property after circling twice to be guided in. There is no dedicated drop off point. You park in any available space near the main entrance and this included No Standing. You then off load and trust that the car is moved before plod leaves you an expensive momento. Pick up is the same, but you have more confidence.
Down side? Only one. Bathroom cleanliness was very good, but the toilet seat was loose and not far from parting company. Why can't the cleaners recognise and report issues, or if so, maintenance fix it. Its a pet peeve. 607 if the property is looking.
Would we stay again? Most certainly. Thanx to all.

Great location on South Bank, lots of eateries, a cinema & Starbucks, literally next door. The weekend market just 2 minutes walk. Mantra sits between 2 train stations (easy trip) from the airport, ferry terminal 5 min walk, easy 10 min walk across the bridge into the CBD and Queen St Mall, a fabulous garden and man made beach & outdoor swimming just 5 min walk. QPAC for concerts, ballet etc 10 min walk and a lovely riverfront. I was just surprised how early the eateries close 8.30-9pm? One thing to note are the electric Scooters on the pedestrian walkways that do weave around pedestrians, are very quiet! Very friendly and helpful front desk. Had to ask for a later checkout, which was done with no extra charge, was much appreciated. I loved having a balcony. Request for extra towels and toilet paper was sent up efficiently. It was surprising that WIFI was not available in our room without a surcharge. The microwave was not working, but the use of the stove was fine to heat food. Great to have a washer and dryer, meant we could travel will carry-on luggage and meant we could spend less time in the airport. The bed in the room of our 1 bed apartment was super comfy, though a double bed is too small for 2 adults to share comfortably hence the extra bed was supplied in the lounge; however the mattress was concave and incredibly bad for my back. I was surprised that they could not find a replacement, when I asked, but i was informed to use the sofa bed, however there was none in the room. If not for Covid and not wanting additional movement of staff in the room, I would probably have insisted for a change of bed. The pool was great and not crowded at all. Overall highly recommended trip to Brisbane and stay at the Mantra

My 1st time staying in mantra brand and idk what to expect but I know everything in QLD is bigger, and boy, the most basic category I booked is 55sqm apartment!
I came from Hong Kong to Brisbane for first time, and I chose mantra south bank for my 4nts coz it is 5mins walk from the South Brisbane train station where I take a direct airtrain from Brisbane Airport, 7mins walk from Museum bus interchange or busway station, and 5mins walk from Citycat ferries which is too convenient for me when I went to concert at Riverstage one night (which is at the other side of the river)
My flight arrived in the morning so I did know my room is not gonna be ready till afternoon. Thank you Grey, who is kind enough for allowing me to store luggage and give me a brief heads up on the weather and what's on nearby, especially Brisbane's ever changing weather.
This hotel has their lower floors as hotels while higher floors as residences so you can expect a full furnished setup, with open kitchen, washing machine, bathtub, living room and balconies. However, the hotel setup is pretty basic, or should I say, empty. And there is no drapes or full divider for bathtub so 90% chance you will have water splashed out when showering. Bottled water is not provided complimentary but upon request, even for me as Accor membership number. However, I am given sparkling instead of still when I asked for 2 bottles. Interestingly, they would assume I want it sparkling when I ask for simply water.
But it is a very good stay, also thanks to Jennifer the manager for finding the adapter I am much in need for Oceania continent, and Zac for allowing me to keep it as I continue my journey to Auckland (of course, paid, and A$20 is good deal for my usage in the next 7 days too)
If you are family or couple coming for long trip or just arriving for short term stay before settling in, this is a great choice to stay, and it is super convenient around.

Awful smelly, dirty, expensive and outdated. Stayed for 2 nights for work and was deeply disappointed with the room I was given. The bathroom and kitchen stunk of mould. For a king studio there was one broken lamp on one bedside table and none on the other. The curtains were broken and the bathroom was caked in calcium, mould and grime.
For an Accor hotel they should be ashamed. Adding to this insult the room was over $400 per night, never again. The Rydges and Novotel are in close proximity and much nicer (I’ve stayed at both).
The only nice thing was the breakfast which was included.

After booking this room at $252 a night through Qantas.com, I arrived to be told that on that rate, room cleaning was not available. This came as a surprise as when checking both the 'View Room Details' and 'Offer Details' links on the website, the 'View Room Details link' only stated:
'LOCATION, LOCATION! Accommodation in a studio room in the heart of Brisbane's cultural and restaurant precinct. Enjoy your spacious room with, kitchenette facilities and LCD TV. FREE access to heated pool, spa and gymnasium. King or Twin bedding'
The 'Offer Details' link stated: 'Flexible Stay and Save.'
This should have been a warning sign as there was mold on the shower walls, and also on the curtains in the main living area. There was also a sticky substance on the orange throw pillow which laid on the bed.
(Photos taken of website links, mold on walls and curtains available on request)
Given that there was no housekeeping, the rubbish quickly piled up and I had to ask twice for toilet paper to be delivered. Firstly to a gentleman at reception who wrote my room number on his hand as there were no rolls behind the counter, and secondly over the phone 9 hours later as the toilet paper had still not arrived.
I was able to get the rubbish taken away after waiting for and asking housekeeping who were cleaning other rooms to take it away. Housekeeping made me sort the rubbish out myself into their cleaning cart.
Unfortunately, the room looks into train lines and being siderodromophobic after falling out of a train as a child, I kept the curtains closed. Thankfully the windows were double glazed and the trains couldn't be heard.
The fridge worked. The toilet flushed. I didn't use the TV once or the WiFi so I cannot comment on these services. The iron worked. Couldnt use the kettle as was advised to not use the water due to the March 2022 floods.
Overall, the experience was severely lacking for the price. The cleanliness of the room was suited to someone willing to risk an infection and I would not recommend anyone stay at the Mantra on Southbank if these things are a concern.

First room had water dripping from a light fixture no room service menu or tv options. The second room had mould in the air-conditioning vent in the bedroom and mould on the curtains. Tried calling room service at dinner time with the call just ring ing out or 30mins so ordered uber eats.

Chose Mantra as it was in close proximity to conference venue and a good location in Southbank. Unfortunately the hotel is very outdated. Not enough power point for charging electronic devices is an example. Room decor/utility is also missing (eg no lounge chair or coffee table). Daily cleaning/room maintenance was incomplete (eg used cups not cleaned, sheets not done properly). My room was at the corner, right next to train line and a car park entrance, soundproof was very poor.

Stayed one night in a twin room. Bed was comfy, room size great. The view wasn’t great (train tracks). Room was clean, but not ready at check in so a little disappointed after a long trip in. Toilet seat was not slow release so heavy and loud when closing the lid. Tv was difficult to work out because we had no remote but that was an easy fix. Convenient location no need for a car or transport. Parking was expensive at $40 per night (something I’m not use to paying for).

We have stayed here twice now and even though (I don't think) it's an up to date hotel, well the rooms are a little tired, this is a great location for Brisbane City.
The rooms are basic & clean but have everything that you need. If you do need anything then convenience stores are on your doorstep, as well as cafes & restaurants. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The pool is small but great for a 'dip', it didn't feel heated.
You only have the cross the road to cafes & restaurants and to the main Southbank district and to City Beach. The hotel offers parking which you do get charged for ($40 per night), considering you're in the City and other parking sites might charge less at least you know your car is secure and there's no delay when they bring it out to you.
Once you're booked in, you don't need to worry about anything apart from what to explore.

I booked on what I thought was the Mantra website, however the site was guest reservations mimicking the Mantra website. I then paid/scammed $400 more for the room than if I booked on the mantra website and was unable to get a refund. Upsetting to know the Mantra accepts bookings from these companies when they are there to scam the customer. When we arrived the room didn't have a 5th bed. The dishwasher didn't work. 2 days into the stay it was kind of repaired, however the maintenance person left a mess. The clothes dryer sounded like it was going to explode. The walls had marks and the bathrooms needed its grout have a good clean. The rooms smelt musty. The rooms didn't get serviced so rubbish piled up. When I asked for room service I was informed it depends on the rate I'm on - this after I paid $400 more then the mantra website.

Yes, valet offsite. I think I paid $35/ day...I prefer to take the train. South Brisbane stop is a five minute walk away...and then you can stroll the city and southbank unencumbered. The City Cats are a must do...!!
Hope this helps. F
