Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Overall, it was a great stay, excellent staff that go above and beyond. Their overall commitment to looking after their guests was phenomenal. The rooms are getting rather tired, overdue for an overall upgrade. Decor is very brown/black, needs new everything.

Great service especially from Maggie who meet all our needs and more… Lovely touch with breakfast delivered at 5am as we were leaving early. Great blueberry muffins, banana each and orange drink each. There for Womans World Cup football and the hotel had a great sunset balcony for all guests to enjoy. Would return to this hotel.

Excellent staff especially Maggie who meet all our needs without fuss. Fantastic location for Suncorp Stadium as we were there for the Womans Football Wold Cup. They have a sunset lounge outside looking over Caxton street and all the festivities in the eatery’s across the road. We had drinks and pizza from Sette Pizza directly across the road and has a connection to the hotel. The pizzas were excellent. All in all our stay was wonderful and would certainly return.

Great hotel which is nice and close to Suncorp stadium. Rooms were large, clean and well equipped. Staff were helpful and friendly. Nice touch of breakfast delivered to your room each morning. Would have been good to have a few more options (for example a Museli and yoghurt).

Very good experience. Very helpful staff. Light breakfast delivered to room at 7 am. Good location with pubs and restaurants nearby. Easy to Uber to other parts of Brisbane. The only reason I did not rate 5 stars is because of a couple of minor maintenance issues which I reported to reception at checkout, and I’m sure they would have been fixed for next guest.

Magic Round Day 1 - Big group of us for a very late lunch. My Barra in white bean soup was not season well and pretty tasteless. The seafood linguine looked good and so did the salmon. However the Chicken Schnitzel was over cooked and dry that came with no other salad or vegetable for that price it should come with either one of these. It looked like a child’s meal. There was not much other choice on the menu if you didn’t like seafood. Only the Chicken Schnitzel and the Pumpkin Risotto or Steak. Sadly we have been in the past and the food was better quality than this time.

I stayed here for the Elton John concert, as a present from our daughter. The room was good, the beds were comfortable, but a dirty spoon & saucer were left in it when we arrived. She also gave us $100 food voucher to use in our package. Because they closed their restaurant in the building after she bought the voucher, they advised us to order from the Italian shop across the road or the Steakhouse, which we found out that they own both restaurants.. So we decided to order a meat lover's pizza, a BBQ chicken & pineapple pizza, 2 tiramisus, and salad & other things which they could not supply. So I had to go across the road to pick up the food. The meat lover's pizza was average, oily base but OK. The chicken& pineapple pizza was uneatable! It had a funny smell & tasted, terrible so my wife wouldn't eat it. She decided to pick off some of the pineapple to eat, but it had no taste & tasted funny! Then we went to the Elton John concert. I thought we'd have a niceTiramisu dessert when we got back. So I pulled out one of the Tiramisu out of the fridge and opened the lid and could not get a spoon into the top! It was hard, this was the cream, and the Tiramisu had no taste at all and it had a watery feeling to it. These were $14 each so it was $28 wasted! I noticed on the top there was a number two which at a closer look I realised it was the date it was made or the use by date. It was 17/1/23 and we purchased it on the 21/1/23!! So I realised it was not fresh at all!! So I told the management before I left, there's two Tiramisu in the fridge for them to take across the road when it opens and show them how bad their food is!!They offered no compensation at all!! So as far as I'm concerned if you want to stay at the hotel fine but do not eat at their restaurant across the road as the pizza shop is absolute rubbish. So whatever you do do not order anything from Sette pizza.!!

Well, it is a convenient location - and the reception staff was lovely. Still, this is not a 5-star experience. My "Petrie" Room was very tiny. I was on my own, so not a big problem, but two adults would find getting around in this room annoying. The "balcony" is a 30 cm strip of tile that is separated by glass from the roof of the story below. The air conditioner squeaked ... thankfully not all of the night, but still, enough to wake me up regularly. The Queen bed is in actual fact two (basic quality) mattresses on a base. Sleep quality is very average. Bathroom smells (from the floor drain). There is no minibar. The room service menu is the menu provided by the (very good, but elaborate and very expensive) Gambaro's Seafood restaurant. As a business traveller, I was not looking for lobster and oysters, but maybe a risotto or a lamb chop with vegies or even a burger. It's 5:30 am. I used up the two coffee sachets.... be nice to order a breaky after a disrupted night.... apparently, there is a complimentary room service breakfast of juice and muesli at 7:00....which is a nice touch. We'll see if I'm still here.

This hotel is poorly administrated. There’s a “complimentary” internet connection provided to guests which is so slow, it’s unusable. It’s basically dial up. And then when I went to select the pay option, I had to call an outsourced IT team to resolve the issue. Spent 30mins trying to resolve the issue after flying in late for meeting the next day. Nice and relaxing

Expensive for average service and an unclean room. Upon arrival to our room it was obvious that it had not been serviced. The room smelt as the water trap in the bathroom floor had been allowed to dry out. All the lamps and appliances were unplugged and when I moved furniture to plug them in there was months of dust and dirt behind them. Finally the bathroom sink was blocked and when I alerted reception they informed me that it was a “known problem” and nothing could be done.
