A new and clean building with good trees and gardens, good parking, handy to rail, small but clean rooms. If the towels weren't like c grade sheets of canvas this would have a higher rating. Don't understand what the 'international' means, it's not really more than a nice local motel.
My wife and I stayed for a night in transit and we had a pleasant stay. The positives, good value for the tariff, very friendly staff, great toiletries, including body wash, shampoo and conditioner, pod coffee and not sachets of instant. Lovely shower over bath with almost instant hot water. The bed was brilliant, not too hard or soft. We both had no trouble falling asleep. The room was extremely quiet with no road or train noise at all due to double glazing. There were a couple of slight negatives though, firstly the rooms are on the 1st floor and no elevator so had to carry bags up stairs. There is only one power point in the main room which is above the bench on the opposite side of the room to the bed. As my wife has a cpap machine it was a bit of a stretch. Also difficult if you have to charge devices. The other negative was that on the weekend there is only the hotel across the road for food within walking distance. We did find a great noodle place in Sherwood about 5 or so mins drive. All in all we did have a peaceful night, would stay again and would recommend the motel. …
Hands down the worst Motel I have endured during my 40 years plus of business travel. Rude staff, dirty room, smelly/blocked drain, torn curtains (no blockout), noisy, shocking location, cigarette odour, no hot water - the one positive was I only suffered this “establishment” for one night. Avoid at all costs.
Firstly this place is a motel. In reality it offers a bed and a bathroom. This does both of these, it is clean and tidy, and presents well. The rooms are not that big, but functional. I was in the "rear section" where there is a window that looks at the "front section" bit had no need for a view. The shower is OK. A reasonable rose and good pressure, but only half the folding door....the cleaners must hate it, as the floor is wet not matter how careful you are..... The only real delta on the place, is that it has soap in a pump, not a bar.....and if you are like me, hate them....BYO soap and it serves if function well.
We had tickets to attend the semi final of the Federation Cup at Easter so sought something close to the PR Arena. We hadnt visited Brisbane before so were unsure of suitable locations. We arrived at the Rocklea Motel on Good Friday. I had emailed and phoned a few weeks ahead to make our booking, presuming we would be given a good deal by booking direct. But we were disappointed to note that we should have booked online thru one of the agencies because their prices were $10-15 per night cheaper. We were surprised to find all rooms were located upstairs and without a lift. Hubby had his arm in a caste so had to be extra careful on stairs and I had to carry the luggage up. They advertise a restaurant at the motel but it wasn’t open at all over the four days we were there. The Hotel across the road does a reasonable evening meal. Be warned there wasn’t a cafe that we could find nearby, open for breakfast. Access to Pat Rafter arena was ok. We caught the free train at the Rocklea Station (5-10 minute walk) two stops. Then had a 10-15 minute walk. Taxi fare back was $11-13. The motel room was standard and only had tea/coffee making facilities. No microwave. It was clean and we were told we could get extra amenities by going to the front desk as there wouldn’t be any daily room service over Easter. Another reason we thought the cost might have been lowered. Our car was parked in an open area but mostly under cover. It was accessible by people walking past. We’ve given the Motel 3 stars but would only give its locality, 1 Star. We could see the busy Highway and train from our room but the noise didn’t interfere with our stay. The Managers were friendly and even though the office wasn’t always open, they were nearby and happy to help.…
