Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I stayed here for 6 nights for a training course nearby. I was impressed overall. Room was clean, wifi was very fast with a strong signal and the room relatively was quiet, despite being near a busy main road. Rooms included a pod coffee machine too, with coffee pods free of charge from reception. Walking distance from Rocklea railway station (which is temporarily closed but has stationlink buses to to the next station up the line). Only minor quibble was that reception was sometimes closed earlier than the published hours. I would happily stay here again.

The towels provided are like wiping yourself with cardboard, definitely C grade, very poor, and are not brilliant white.
Soap bars are not provided, just oily body wash.
Rooms are adequate.
Staff are very good.

A new and clean building with good trees and gardens, good parking, handy to rail, small but clean rooms. If the towels weren't like c grade sheets of canvas this would have a higher rating. Don't understand what the 'international' means, it's not really more than a nice local motel.

Falling apart and not very hygienic. Stayed two nights over a weekend, plaster cornices were falling from the ceiling, rust and grime in shower, used shampoo and body wash bottles left in shower, toilet seat was falling off and power points were on the other side of the room so could not charge phone (used as alarm) overnight. Towels were like sandpaper and key required force to remove from the barrel.

There was a sign on the desk that rooms are not serviced over weekends, which is a first for me, so I don't really know what the price tag provides for.

This property is a self-rated four star (even for a motel), however I give it two as I did not feel comfortable staying at this property.

Place is shabby and very basic - not sure where they got the right to call it deluxe! Fridge shelves broken, mould and rust in the bathroom, bath chipped. It is situated on an ‘island’ in between two very busy freeways so traffic noise starts early. Yes, there is free undercover parking and the hairdryer was great!

This motel would have to be one of the worst I have stayed in. I don’t understand how this place could be rated a 4 star. It was run down dirty and noisy, people having little parties in the hallway swearing etc until 2.00 in the morning. The staff member we reported it to didn’t seem to interested. Avoid this place

between the noise from the traffic, trains, trucks and the local " working girls" who use the rooms on the weekends, the rooms are filthy, the service is even worse! I wouldn't keep my dog in it and definitely would not recommend it to anyone!!

Hi Glennwarren It is a shame to see Tripadvisor used for reviews that do not offer any constructive criticisms. We are quite happy to respond to our guests and offer clarification or review our service and product standards when we are given something to work with but reviews such as this one do very little to assist either the property in question or give future travellers a true idea of what to expect when buying a product or a service. As you can see from the majority of our reviews our rooms are clean, tidy and comfortable and even though our location is on a major road, noise is very rarely raised as an issue. I am sorry that you were unable to raise any of these issues with us during your 7 night stay, our reception is open 24 hours so there was certainly every opportunity for you to do so. Kind regards Jan Marshall Property Manager

I was charged the room rate when I checked in then when I was checking
out I was charged a second time. When I asked about it, the manager told me the first amount is held is suspense for 7-10 days and the second amount taken out was for the
room. So I am now inconvenienced because of their backwards accounting system. I will NEVER stay with that group again!

Hi Jojoblog As you can see by the track record of responses, we take on board our clients have to say and make objective changes if required. After all, we are here not just for accommodation, but to 'accommodate' your needs also. In this particular instance to address your public post, we will need to be direct in our reply. Our payment policy is in line with international five star brands. Something we would like to have had the chance to explain. It was obvious from your phone call that you would not let us explain our position. We sent a subsequent email to you explaining we are not in the business of double charging. The process is - A credit card authority is taken on arrival for the room nights booked. That amount is 'suspended' in your account which in the event of a cardholder using their card to the maximum limit, we are still guaranteed payment. The card establishment, in this case, NAB, generally release the authorised funds, if not completed at check out, after approximately 48 hours. Even if the completion takes place on check out it can be 48 hours plus before the 'suspension' disappears from your account. That is why on check in guests are advised that there is a chance it may be 7-10 days before the funds are released. Had we have had the opportunity, we could have resolved this faster for you. Should you require any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me directly on 07 3892 3388. Kind regards Jan Marshall Property Manager

We had a few negatives (Ants in draw/along shelf, only 2 out of 3 cereal bowls & spoons delivered with breakfast. toilet washer needs replacing to alleviate water running, unable to fill kettle up as it was too tall for sink, wakeup call at 830 from reception even though we never requested one, when I answered, the young lady hung up. I rang reception straight back where she duely apologised), water pressure very soft but i guess that depends on what you are used too). The instructions in the book for wi fi connection need updating as they are out of date for the type of connection now available. Rather than focus on the negatives I will say the room was ready, clean, had a good air con (which was handy because the days we were there it was 43 one day & 35 the next). Good tv (only one fox sport channel even though 3 are listed).

The best part of the motel was the staff. Rodney was very helpful when I rang to book & enquire on rates as well as being able to accommodate our request for a late checkout. Veronica was also very good, taking the time & effort to look up & print out a map for us as we'll as timetables. Anne was delightful to speak to at checkout, taking the time to confirm details & noting the issues we had re breakfast, wakeup call etc. Anne also amended the bill as we were charged for a fresh fruit salad we had ordered with breakfast even though we had returned it as it wasn't fresh fruit salad as listed on the breakfast menu but instead packaged 2 fruit mix tub from a supermarket shelf. Ide expected it to have already been taken off the account by the young lady who I handed it too on Saturday morning but clearly it hadn't as we discovered on checkout. Only a small matter but none the less...

Overall, our stay was pleasant due to the helpful staff so based on that note, I would recommend this motel as value for money if your looking to stay on the edge of the city. Please take the time though if you are making your own way to the motel to know where it is as it isn't very easy to find for a first timer to the area.

I recently stayed for 5 nights at the Rocklea Brisbane International with my son and wife. There was a mix up initially with our room booking but the hotel staff bent over backwards to assist and fix the error. We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment which was very comfortable and most adequate for our requirements. Although the property is in close proximity to main roads the room was very quiet. We had a lovely breakfast at the restaurant. The hotel is very convenient to the Brisbane markets and only 10 -15 minutes max to the city centre. I had meetings on the Gold Coast, locally and in town so found it very central for me.
Lovely staff - very accommodating. Comfortable rooms. Will use again on my next trip.

Hi James Thank you so much for choosing to stay with us and I am so thrilled that you found our location to be so convenient to your needs. Our locality does appear at first to perhaps be a little noisy but for the most part our guests find our rooms quiet and comfortable and love the easy access to both the city and the south of Brisbane. We can’t wait to welcome you back in the future. Kind regards Jan Marshall General Manager

I am not sure but suspect they do - or can. Michael Gillis, Business Development Manager at Brisbane Rocklea International is very responsive - he was on to me straight away after my post re costs and bent over backwards to be helpful. Give him a try - I am sure you won't be disappointed. John.
