Number 12 is so go we keep returning as a preference to city hotels. Just a short walk to the Hawthorne city cat ferry terminal for an express trip to Riverside. The wonderful service provided by Kate and Neil always makes you feel special and valued as a customer. The rooms are quiet, well appointed and very comfortable. The food...

Well Number 12 is a hidden gem. Firstly made to feel extremely welcome by our host Kate. Started with a nice afternoon tea. Kate was very engaging and friendly without being intrusive. The room was delightful. Quiet, nicely themed and set for a very comfortable nights sleep. Hawthorne has come along way. Literally, just around the corner is the landmark...

Beautiful gardens greeted me as I arrived dressed in keeping with Number 12's theme, and when Kate bought out my delightful afternoon tea I knew this was going to be a lovely stay. Lots of period details added a sense of old world charm and quiet. I stayed in the Edwardian room which had a lovely breeze during the day,...

I had a great time at Kate's "Number 12 Bed & Breakfast. Very welcoming people, cozy rooms, spacious bath and a very "feel home" atmosphere. Kate is always there if you need anything. Absolutely great breakfast with homemade treats that get you going for a day of discovery through the city. Perfectly located next to coffee shops and restaurants and...

The Good: 5 star high-quality linens (sheets, towels, napkins), Superb 5 star home-made hot and cold breakfast. Beautiful little touches everywhere and furnishings. Excellent location, not in CBD but very easy access to regular 'cat' ferry and just a few short stops to the CBD city. Also very close walking distance to great local cafes and restaurants. We ate locally...

On our recent trip to Brisbane we chose to stay at Number 12 BbB in the beautiful suburb of Hawthorn. Our host Kate is a very welcoming and warm person and after being shown around and settling into our room we were offered a lovely afternoon tea on the front verandah. The most delish homemade lemon and lime cake and...

This Queenslander- style house is in the exclusive suburb of Hawthorne. It is exquisitely decorated and maintained, with a shady garden and delightfully-appointed rooms, plus decks and living areas for guest use. A wonderful breakfast is served on the balcony, and the hostess, Kate, provides home-baked cakes, cookies and other treats for guests. It is just around the corner from...

From the very first email Kate was an excellent host. We had a late flight in and Kate made us very welcome bringing us coffee and home made cakes. Breakfast next morning was also excellent and Kate gave us some ideas of places to head for, along the coast to Sydney, which we did, thanks. Everything was clean and comfortable,...

Number 12 is more than a place to sleep. As you enter into the spirit of hospitality and generosity set by Kate and Neil you find yourself spending more and more time in the house than planned. On the lovely back veranda over breakfast, on the front porch in the afternoon with cake, or in your room surrounded by all...
