There are some quite terrible reviews of this hotel so I was concerned about staying here. However there were no issues and I had a pleasant room with views up Ann St and King George Square. Bed was a Queen and quite comfortable. Cleaning could improved as my rubbish bin wasn’t emptied nor was sink cleaned in the bathroom. Location was excellent and a short walk to queen st mall. No noise issues as my room had double glazing. Price of the room was very reasonable. As it was quite hot in Brisbane and a long weekend the pool came in handy. Pool does needs some maintenance and was quite busy often. 16 Antliers is their lovely rooftop bar. I would be happy to return,

We visited the Mercure to stay just before going on our cruise, thinking it is in the city and it would be nice to stay for one night. They gave us a room which wasn’t very pleasant it was musty, old looking and very rundown. We complained to the reception staff and they changed our room it was a bit better and didn't have a smell. The only thing was the towels they were very smelly and not nice to use, my one was also dirty. To top it all off breakfast was included in our reservation and we got charged for it how sad. It is a very old and run down place in need of a major renovation.

I found that the only good thing about this hotel was its location. The room was tiny, with an even smaller bathroom. To shower, you have to climb into an old chipped bath. If you are 1.75m or taller, you don't fit under the shower head and if you are 1.90 or taller, like my husband, you can't even stand in the shower because you will hit your head on the ceiling. The blinds in the bathroom were filthy, the sink was cracked and the carpet in the room was old and tacky. When you sit on the bed, it rolls away from the bedhead, as it has unlockable wheels. You can't keep the aircon on at night either, because it sounds like a rusty old truck on a dirt road. The rooftop pool was so murky and dirty, my son couldn't find his sinky toys. On the bottom of the pool was a layer of hair and muck which was so gross my kids refused to get back in. Cannot recommend.

Great location, stayed for 2 nights, room was spacious. When I arrived there wasn’t any signage on parking, so I parked directly at the hotel car park, then had to carry my suit case up flight of stairs. The receptionist was rude and it felt rushed nor did she bother to tell me about the internet login details which meant I was late to a teams meeting. Would I stay here again? Probably not, I think attitude of staff members should be addressed. The only staff who were efficient was probably the concierge.

I have stayed in many pullman and Mercure hotels across the world and in Australia, but i must say this is the worst! Very basic room, uncomfortable bed, dirty bath/shower stained and well past its use by date. Shower gels etc none have been replenished. Yeah, i know its the city, but i just would like to have a nice shower and somewhere comfy to sleep, this hotel has not lived up to its reputation.

I was part of a group booking for a two night stay as part of our Global leadership conference. The queue to check in went out the door and down the road. No plans were made by the hotel to accommodate a large amount of people to check in at the same time. Got to the room after waiting in line 45 minutes. Had a quick shower to get ready for next event. The body wash and shampoo dispensers in the shower were both empty and no soap provided. After the shower called both reception and housekeeping to order these and the phones both rang out after repeated calls. Reception ended up hanging up after every call attempt. The next day when we returned after the conference had finished, it took us 45 minutes to get to our rooms. When I eventually got there, my room key didn’t work so I had to wait another 30 minutes to get back down to reception. A god-awful experience.

A second stay in October 2023 but been staying here on and off in the past few years. Pleasant stay as usual and couldn't fault anything. I'd like to give a special thanks to Alex and Jacquie at the Front Desk for always being so helpful and accommodating and of course to lovely Morgan at the Goldfinch for your outstanding hospitality during breakfast service. You guys are amazing and your great work was appreciated.

Pretty average 3 star hotel, got a great rate and so stayed here a night Room had no view That’s ok for sure I’ll attach pics of carpet worn to threadbare, cracked chipped sink and more Never Have I left a review or taken pics like this But I’m doing it because it’s pretty shabby to not be upgrading these rooms and charging what they charge So just want people to be aware We ate dinner In the restaurant at night, service so slow, food took ages And wasn’t amazing When I told them they apologized and made sure we would come for breakfast to give them Another Chance, breakfast was ok Oh, and the pool has tiles missing everywhere, so shabby

We stayed for 6 nights on a very good bed and breakfast rate to get over jet lag, having flown from Scotland. The room was a bit dated and had no view but it was exactly what we needed, as it was quiet and dark. Staff were lovely, especially the dining room staff at breakfast. Great choice for breakfast and was plentiful and hot. Hotel was in a great location and close to everything in the city centre. Would stay again.
