Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed here before going on a cruise as the location was convenient. Room was a great size, had 2 queen beds, a bar fridge, coffee and tea making facilities, table and chairs, TV and air con. Very clean and tidy. Large motel/apartments with 2 pools, an outside room with microwave and vending machine and a restaurant on site that serves dinner.

Overnight stop before heading off on a cruise. Compared to last nights accomodation in Melbourne, this is great! Bathroom was clean. Access for us was easy. We liked the code option but then again we didn’t have any issues where we needed a physical receptionist. We were on the level where we didn’t need to use the stairs which other people have commented about. Small room but comfortable for the one night we were here. Would stay again on quick trips, would probably book somewhere with more space for longer trips. Easy and convenient for what we needed.

A booking was made by my family at the Pegasus Motor Inn and Serviced Apartments in Hamilton QLD, through Booking.com. The accomodation was a two-week period and cost $2500.00. This was paid as agreed. The week before the commencement of the term, my father fell extremely ill, and was hospitalised. My father lived in Perth WA. My family and I basically rushed to Perth and requested a cancellation of the booking on compassionate grounds. This was refused and the total fee was retained as penalty. My farther passed away the following week. I again asked for a refund on the basis of compassionate and uncontrollable circumstances. I received neither a reply or even an acknowledgement of my request. This is the type of institution the Pegasus Motor Inn is. They will take your money and once received, treat you with complete contempt and uncharitable behaviour. I cannot begin to describe the sadness my family feels at this moment, firstly because of our great loss. But the added insult of the heartless way we have been treated at Christmas truly attests to the fact the Dickens character Scrooge is alive and well.

I would like to do a minus one. It shouldn't exist. I checked in online when I received the email to do it. We arrived at the Brisbane airport very early and were driving to and from Gold Coast, ahead of check-in at 2pm. An email arrives saying that the check-in was rejected because I did it too early. Are they a frigging bank ? So, I pulled over and redid the check-in, which requires sending a photo of the driver's licence. And started driving, rushing to the places we needed to go. So, another message arrives saying the check-in had been rejected because I had sent a selfie!!! At this stage my blood was boiling, I pulled over again and sent a message saying that it wasn't a ruddy selfie, look at it. 10 minutes after we got to the motel, we received the code for the keypad. We turned on the AC, which, rudely, of course had not been turned on for us. Water started pouring down on to the carpet. It was filling up two breakfast bowls hourly. I sent two emails, also complaining that there was no knife and one of the drawers was filthy with oily scum that came off on my finger. Nothing happened. So I rang up, and after a good 5 minutes, the person when to the "management" and said they will be coming over. She, of course, turned up just before 5pm. The repair guys had conveniently gone home. She told me some bull that the reason was it was so humid. I know better and told her it had not been serviced. Amazingly, she had arrived with just the right shaped bucket to fit under the two leaks. She promised to rectify the three things the next day. We came back late the next day, the AC had been fixed - miracles - it was not the humid weather after all. But there was no knife and the drawer had not been cleaned. I had sent them a photo the previous day, so there was no doubt which drawer it was. Later that night, when we tried to watch the TV, it was not working. I looked and the plug on the cable had come apart. Most probably when the AC guy was there and pushed the TV out of the way for his big behind. I messaged them, and they replied that the knife, the drawer and the TV would be fixed the next day. The TV was fixed the next day, but no new knife and the drawer was not cleaned. We did find the original knife under some dishes later that night, but had bought our own by now. There was also no hand towel. Keeping the above in mind, we bought our own. The room was too flights up on narrow, dangerous stairs. We had to lug are heavy suitcases by ourselves. There was not even a warning about it. I had complained about this too, there was never an apology for anything. I thoroughly recommend it, if you want to live in a motel in a Third World country and ruin your holiday.

OK so it is well established that the check in situation is deplorable. There is never a human in reception- key code required, difficult and sometimes impossible to obtain. Remote telephone "help" line difficult to reach and sometimes unable to help. ABSOLUTE CLINCHER FOR ME WAS THAT I WAS UNABLE TO CHECK IN -THEN MANAGEMENT REFUSED TO GIVE ME A REFUND.! Several times I physically went to reception. but finally had to go to another Motel, having been told my booking has been cancelled. (help line) Hotel Manager flatly refused to allow a refund. She told me I had not fulfilled the rules and effectively why should they be out of pocket. Long "dispute" over several weeks then followed. Email contact only. My argument is that a Motel provides both " accommodation and check in"- simple breach of contract if they fail to deliver (and turn you away!) I eventually lodged a dispute with Visa and 6 weeks later got my money back. SO DO NOT USE THIS MOTEL. SERVICE AWFUL, MANAGEMENT UNETHICAL.

No reception just SMS with codes to get in doors and carparks. I got into carpark ok but then had to lug a heavy suitcase up 2 flights of stairs as there is no lift. Got to the room after tripping over carpet that had big ruffles in it in the hallway and my code wouldn't work so had to call a contact number and wait on hold for ages. Finally got into the room and was not game to leave again in case code didnt work. Turned on aircon and it dripped all night (felt like torture) - was not game to sit on filthy couch - room service spaghetti bolognese was yuck - no flavour and no salt and peper to add any! Very disappointing stay - last time i stayed at this motel I loved it :(

Disappointed! Looks great on the outside, but very disappointing when you get inside. They forgot to mention check in was all online. Doesn’t work if you have an overseas phone!!! No lifts to carry suitcases up 2 flights of stairs. Our room was poor. Fridge unusable as it froze everything!! Bathroom smelt of cannabis and the ceiling fans haven’t been cleared for years!! The whole place needs a good clean and renovation. Avoid!!!

I have been coming to this property for years and now I won’t be recommending it. In the living room neither of the bedside lights work as well as the flourished light. The whole electric system is sus. The carpet in the outside foyer is ripped and a trip hazard. Also the whole process of getting into your accomodation is flawed, not user friendly, and customer service by the phone is appalling. The curtains are stained and dirty and clearly the air conditioner has never been cleaned based on the dust. Access to the rooms on the upper levels is also quite difficult with very steep stairs and no lifts in place. Go go a walk around the pool and the walkway is not level. My advice to all is to look elsewhere

Good location close to the airport, cruise terminal and the M1 freeway. There's a shopping centre with Woolies up the road not far from the motel. Check in and check out is all online so no lengthy process arriving or leaving. Just drove into the underground car park and went to our room. It's worth noting that there are only stairs to access the rooms, no elevator. Thus for us we carried our luggage up 2 flights of stairs. Rooms have a digital keypad to unlock the door. It took several attempts to key in the combination correctly as the buttons didn't always register properly. The room was a decent size, but a little dated. The main room light was a fluorescent on the wall just above the tv, so you would either have a bright light shining in your eyes or the light off to watch tv. Shower was great for pressure but be careful with the hot water setting because it can be very hot. The complimentary toiletries were via a squeeze bottle dispenser on the wall. We assumed that the one in the shower was shampoo and body wash because it wasn't labeled. The bed was comfortable, but we could hear the tv next door clearly through the wall. Fortunately they were early sleepers so it wasn't an annoying problem. Overall a comfortable enough night in a modest motel for a fairly reasonable price.

The online off site check-in is a nightmare! Took us 20 mins to check-in as we had to wait to receive an sms message via NZ to receive numerous codes to access the room. The place is a rabbit warren and with no reception lobby & staff to guide you, it is extremely hard to locate your room. The main entrance is undergoing renovation with heavy machinery and inaccessible - fenced off. The parking under the building does not have a closed secure gate and is accessible to passing pedestrians from the street. Room #18 is spacious but the sofa & carpet are both heavily stained. Broken bedside lamp which doesn’t work, broken & exposed wiring in a main light switch, stained crockery in need of a good clean, cracked & peeling walls in need of a paint. There are no complimentary bathroom essentials eg. cake of soap, shampoo, conditioner or body wash. Extremely disappointing accommodation for the price - there are better choices in this location - I just wish we had booked elsewhere!
